Well if thats the way you roll. But anywhat, went for a drive around town with the girlfriend on saturday and i noticed a 4wd hanging just a few feet off the backend of our car, next moment amber (the gf) tapped the brakes and i almost crapped myself cause all i could see was this huge bullbar baring down on us and then she was back on the gas pissing herself laughing cause the guy in the 4wd was wide-eyed and mouthing the words "OH PHUCK". The guy never did it again....

No air con thought the Spirit had standard :) Mate had the cs-x version and to fold the back seat down it was a case of take the rear headrests off (normal) and move the front seats forwards. Where as my old '82 seca it was just take the rear headrests off and it was all sweet. Think it was standard factory equipment with the red paint going chalky, same thing happened with mine. When you did the polish did you do a cut first then the polish ? Could have even just cut through the re-spray.

Ok here we go. A little cool in the shade but still was worth the trip out there. This is the "T-intersection" that i said about on google map from Post #6 and then its about a 5-10 minute scenic drive. Spot i was thinking of setting camp. Going to have to see about bringing some wood for the camp stove/fire/hot plate. Shelter in the background. Toilet block to the left. Far side of the camping ground. Shelter. Pair of gas hot plates (no coin needed) and a wash up sink (hot/cold water) to the right. The only downside was a few booby traps (aka prickles) around the shelter so bring some footwear.

Nice buy. Should tint the windows, apart from looking sexy it'll help give the a/c a break. Folded the back seat down yet ? If your taller then about 5'4" its not something you'd want to do on a regular basis.

My opinion of that would be get the suspension sorted first and then maybe up the motor. Its no good having a massive power house under the bonnet and not being able to fully utilize it at the ground. In other words - big torque monster of a motor but its useless cause all it does is smoke up the tires cause they can't hook up to the road cause the anti-squat and roll steer hasn't been figured out. .

Just up dated the title and going to set the date at 26-27 this month. Hoping to have a mate come out as well. So the plan is on taking a trip out there this sunday to see whats changed take some photos yadda yadda

We never got the te series corolla (apart from the te72 aka t-18). But toyota did import one into australia as a test bed or what ever and it appeared in a magazine called "Motor Manual"(?) way back in the late 70's. Edit - Just thinking about it. It could have been the te37 that was previewed. Think i might have to have a hunt around for the mag now...

Can be done with pretty well much any g'box. But i'm with Redwarf - smooth is fast.

Bump steer wouldn't change cause you haven't moved the steering arms and ball joints. What you have changed is the SAI which in turn has moved the scrub radius out to a more positive angle. But depending on what rims your running can bring that angle back in and/or bring it to a negative angle.

Finely got the info i needed for the child restraint anchor. Bloody long time in the wait but. Oh well at least i can now get to do something about it. And the flywheel $20 to get it machined can't get any better then that :D was thinking of getting it lightened by about a kilo, but bah i'll keep it as it is (7.8kg).

:D They both share the same block to bellhousing bolt placements. A40 auto from the top of my head. Don't know how they'll go with the horsepower and i can't say with getting it tricked out either. But if you can get the bellhousing modified or something customized - go for the trimatic. If they can be tricked out for work behind a hotted up v8, a four banger would be easy stuff.

I can't think of it but moving the strut out like that can cause problems with the steering. Steering Axis Inclination (SAI) ? Scrub radius ? Its something like that. But for a dirt track car, top idea.
