  1. Like the gray. You have been bitten by the corolla bug. Keep us updated if you do anything.
  2. I’m the guy from Cali. A JDM original car would be sweet here. 4k isn’t a bad price for the originality. TE31's (same look, USDM) are rising in price to around those levels for a decent one. CA smog requires checks on any vehicle 1976 or newer. I am interested in seeing the engine configuration on this car. I’m already jealous of your bumpers.
  3. Nice projects.
  4. There is a toyota site called 3tcgarage.com. They turbo the 2 and 3t engines. They are pros when it comes to turboing old motors with carbs or efi. The site has just been redone, but I have had good luck with people being helpful.
  5. Nice work.
  6. I dissected that corolla to attain its crankshaft. I feel like a cat that kills a gopher and only eats one part, then leaves it on the porch.
  7. TWIN TURBO v6 in a rolla will scoot! Love the wheels too.
  8. Nice video. 1:35- hope nothing too bad happened.
  9. What did you not like about the 3t? with little mods they can crank a lot of power.
  10. I couldn't stand looking at that dent any longer. So i did this, and well, one thing led to another on my first body damage repair job. Soon I'll be able to get some more work done on it.
  11. Looks like fun. Headache? your stressing too much! Ha ha. It will all pay off when its in your car, you turn your key and hear VROOOoommm.
  12. I love the builds of people that are willing to jump in there and do some DIY stuff. That engine sounds great idling on the pallet. Looks like it will be fun fitting it in place.
  13. I spun down the adjustable perches on my coilovers today. This is the about the level I think I will end up with when I finish my suspension. As for the 320# springs, They settled in a bit and they are really nice. Not as bouncy as I thought they would be. The SW20 rear struts handle them just fine. The car corners very nicely now with minimal body roll. I am also considering using these. I am in the middle of refinishing them.
  14. I completed the SR5 struts. I made them into coilovers with stock strut tube size, a MR2 sw20 rear struts, spacer, and my 320lbs springs. It is a little- ok ok maybe a lot stiff. This was my test. The springs were free, so I can a buy a set of 10" 270-300lbs and have a better ride. I think I will take a 2" section out of the struts. It seems that my car is about 1" lower on the front with no body roll whatsoever. Pics, sorry some are a little blurry.
  15. Looks like it is in pretty good shape.
  16. rotary 5 speed wagon. Sounds cool to me.
  17. And we love seeing corolla pictures, so: win-win-win.
  18. More pics of the TE27 please. Love the early corolla too.
  19. I have been messing around with struts again. I tore down the free set of SR5 struts that were given to me to compare some things with the cressida ones. So far I have noticed: -The original strut tubes are the same length and diameter. -The steering arms mounting points are wider on the cressida ones, -and they put the balljoint at a different angle than the corolla ones. -Balljoints slightly different. <- not 100% sure on this one yet. So If I use the cressida ones it will suck the lower part of my front tire in bringing positive camber. I can adjust this out by using camber adjusters and it will narrow my track width just a little which would bring my MA61's inside the stock guard. I am not sure if the bigger brakes will push it right back out again or not... I could always shorten the SR5 struts and retain my ability to run 13" tires. Who knows my Minilites may make their way to my 31. I want to get going on my suspension already, but my car is currently being used as a driver.
  20. Pics of 2 door hardtop?
  21. HA HA. Love the choices of engines. I am curious to see what you do.
  22. I picked the car up today and I talked the guy in to including some rims that I think are minilites. We was using them as spares for his other cars and he said the wasn't attached to them, So I figured, why not? The worst he could say was no. Right before I left he asked If I wanted his old 1975's SR5 stock struts. Rather than letting them get scrapped I figured I could make some coilovers for someone. He had the minilites on the car when I arrived, and the chrome rims have tires that are brand new.
  23. I picked up a 1974 TE-27. I was searching for a first gen celica and missed out on a crazy good deal for a 76, but I am glad I did because I found this one. Some people call these mangos. The guy was super cool about selling me the car. He wouldn't sell the car to anyone. He told me how he denied the sale to other people that were not Toyota or JC enthusiast. Its an auto. 2tc. 4:10 diff. I will have to do some rust repair in the front due to the battery leaking, and a some minimal rust spots around the car. It runs, but needs fuel system cleaned. Needs brake work etc. etc. Its a project. Pics! enjoy:
  24. Nice! another TE on the forums. That thing is in perfect condition. Original hubcaps - oh yea.
