  1. more info ^^
  2. i have been told that 4ac and bigport rods are the same..? i know that are the same dimensions. if you need a running motor, buy a used 4ac for a 100 or so just to keep you going until you get the motor built..? btw, 4ac crank isnt fully balanced and yes takes a 6 bolt fly as mentioned above.
  3. lol nope.. most normal size wheels are about 25-30 to post...
  4. dunno, check the manual if it has one.. would have the gap to set the plugs to. my 4ac kept on fouling plugs, i had to upgrade my whole ignition to fix it.. don't have too many dramas with it now..
  5. yeah or get a wagon and make a "rollman" or "crewlla"
  6. what did you do to make it run better or did it just magically fix its self..? it sounds like a fouled plug.. if its got the std exhaust, you may not even notice that its running on 3 cylinders..
  7. it maybe that the carb is not jetted correctly and its way over rich... advancing the timing will help this to some extent. was it like this when you took it for a test drive? it doesnt hurt to replace the things mentioned, they are just basic maintenance anyway.
  8. wow super dumper... i didnt think that anyone did lol. got a link to this paradise racing? looked on there site could seem to find them?
  9. yeah was a bit random.. thread don't get moved around too often in the tassie section.. not much tends to happen..
  10. just get any long type toyota key and it will more than likely fit, especially the ignition, almost all keys are interchangeable due to them holes being slopped out, so far the keys i have tried in my mates t-18 that have worked are, sprinter, ae71 another random long type key and my soarer keys which i have 2 different ones. lol. my ae71 was also the same, massively slopped out..
  11. Word on the street is that Josho just ordered some not so overnight parts from America.... with Tassie's sickest parts company :D On a side note, its about time Hazardous Kelly put down the bong and got to reppin!
  12. um shrill WFT?? bad photo shopping!
  13. do you want to swap just the brakes or the whole setup..? suspension, strut etc?
  14. how much would you pay for a 4ac?
  15. latrobe wreckers have one, 3/4 of it are missing and the motor was "a little smokey" before it was wrecked... wrecker "oh I'll will let it go for $150..." me "$150??!!! ARE YOU JOKING?" wrecker "na mate no joke, only needs a new set of rings and maybe bearings tats cheap really" me "i brought a awesome condition motor for less than that and it was complete+machined fly and new timing belt" wrecker " ah well we are a wreckers its our job to rip you the f@$k OFF"
  16. ill second that, he is only registering interest, so at the usual ajps way maybe looking at Chrismas next year getting them made lol.
  17. Getting more and more desperate for the 4kc. Offering good cash payments for gay old motors. Good condition is a must. Contact me on 0437 469 557! Also need a tacho dash (Ke70/ae71), and a 5spd gearbox (k50).
  18. yes true, when i put the exhaust and weber on my 4ac it defiately made more power a little higher up but it would keep making power the more you revved it. it got caught on my mates drive way can kinda crushed the pipe now its choking on its own gases... lol
  19. side pipe? remember the less restrictive you go the higher up to need to rev the motor to make the extra power and get the exhaust into the correct band for power, kind of. if you make the intake more efficient it will work better with the exhaust, getting more out of it. for example, if you add a exhaust you may gain 5hp, if you add a carb it may also add 5ph both separate, but together they make make 12hp.. if you kind of understand where I'm coming from, or that's how i seem to understand. i know you probaly don't have an exhaust system other than the original one which you have to change anyway. so this isn't quite your question and I'm heading further off track with my ramblings....
  20. these small differences still don't seem to add upto the extra HP increase over a run of the mill 4k..? so if the std compression is under 10:1, they don't have a wild cam or a huge carb/s how does it make 74hp!!??
  21. Hi, i don't mean to advertise but I'm an official distributor for T3 parts in Australia. Andrew, that only part that has ever had any trouble is a panhard which doesn't take a beating like a bushed one does. I'm not as familia with pre ke70 tuning, but if you able to swap to sprinter struts then that give you a huge chose when it comes to suspension. Andrew that big brake kit that I offer is of very high quality. wilwood 4 piston callipers and 280mm vented, slotted and drilled rotors! braided lines, brackets, different pads. I don't know how you can get much better than that? Wilwood is a highly respected brand and the rotors have been tried and tested. Andrew if you wish to comment on your own personal experiences with your unsatisfaction please feel free to comment me, I'm always keen to hear feed back on products I sell, although you buy anything from me..
  22. well if its really a monster as the claims are, i say reco it and keep it. new bearings/rings and a little head work (cam, port & polish).
  23. I think they are "cracking down" on everything in your states. You could do a rotary conversion in Tassie, as long as you don't run it out of rego and have some sort of muffler on it and just say "the choke is stuck on officer"... lol
  24. if its black smoke, its rich. blue smoke is oil smoke which could indicate worn rings or valve seals. unfortunately a stock carb cannot be tuned to correct this. advance the timing if its too rich, this will help with burning more of the fuel. 15degrees BTDC is usually quite safe and if its very rich then you wouldnt have any problems, you need a timing light though.
