  1. thanks, have to get the front lip on it :( also figure out how to mount the number plate so it looks as least gay as possible.
  2. Nathan, try a back yarder for a "cheap" spray job, a body works will charge thousands if you can find someone who will actually even do it as they perfur insurance jobs on late model cars. ring around local exhaust shops for quotes. remember to ask for a "sports" muffler or you can source your own muffler
  3. i was going to buy this myself... i have changed my mind now, rater you have it :) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...197339&rd=1 twin sidedraft mani for 4ac, the ONLY one i have seen for sale, there are some rare HKS manifolds but yeah, this is the only one i seen thats been sold.
  4. what exactly do you have for your ignition setup? if you have just a standard 4age coil, dizzy/ignitor then your not going to get any spark because the ecu isnt sending the signal to spark.. if this is the case there are a few options, on of them is an ignition computer or modify another dizzy to carby spec with a vaccume advance (no locked power curve here). one guy i know who had a bigport on carbs had a magna dizzy with a 4age gear drive on the end of it. i can't say what year/model of magna but there went too many motors around in the older ones :) this with the coil setup should to suit is should be ace. i have heard of someone using a 4ke electronic dizzy but i don't have anymore info on it, may have been the internal components of it I'm not sure.
  5. yeah to there own, you may think its cool to smooch as much tyre onto a rim as you can... different tastes and styles.
  6. these are examples of stretch :S cool but not practical
  7. how many people here have actually had a tyre come off of a bead? a crazy guy in adaide put a 195/50 onto a 15x10. he drove on them on the street, slide on them etc. i think thats ridicules personally and id never go that extreme for this would put a lot of stress on the tyre. i wouldnt want to bang it and stuff the wheel or worse crash/roll the car. a 175 on a 7" wheel is NOT stretched, its a nice tight slightly undersized but not stretched. i put old use 175's on the back because i just skid them of, i use them until they are bald (not everyday usage when they are this low) and i have never had a problem with them other than the lip of the wheel being exposed so if you hit the gutter when parking etc you will grind the rim. casey stretch doesn't quite effect the body roll it just reduces tyre roll. lower profile and performance orientated tyres will naturally have stiffer side walls than run of the mill big baggy tyres. racing tyre semi/full slicks don't need to be stretched because they have a stiff sidewall for minimum flex as comfort is not a consern. with a 0 offset i would imaging that you wouldn't have inner clearance issues. obviously they will require some guard work, either descent pumping or flares of some sort. 205/50 or (tight fit, not exactly max strech) 195/50 or 55 would be sweet on them.
  8. why can't you use a complete 3s set-up? like the injectors and fuel rail? just mod the manifold a little..? apparently you can set-up a descent quality mig welder for aluminium, i was looking into it a while back.
  9. what are you trying to do? ive never heard of any suiting... there where some EFI 4ae's released which had the same single cam head. not in aus unfortunately. if you going for twin carbs a custom manifold is must. if your wanting a carb upgrade, best bang for buck is probaly a 32/36 weber. adapter plate to suit the standard manifold are $50 from ebay.. easily install in an afternoon.
  10. large diameter pipe! my exhaust has a fairly low note, i have a sports muffeler up front, resonator half way then into 2 1/4 over the diff and out the back. its low but raspy. sounds sick as, turbo would dampen the noise more. if you do get a cannon, get a descent one not a el cheapo $80 one.
  11. no problem, feel free to post up the specs of wheels here if you like so that someone can confirm they they will fit.. like the right offset etc..
  12. you mean the tacho dash into one with a clock? yes it will all fit in and plug in. ke70's came wired ready for the tacho dash so the plugs are already wired for the tacho.
  13. yeah some metro owns it.... i think he is a member on here...
  14. someone said that ae82 4ac has a ribbed fan belt as oposed to the ae71/86 4ac v-belt... this may also be an option but id imagine that again the waterpump would be the same as fwd 4age?
  15. holy smokes bat man 4k-C powah house :POSTPICS!: i had the mintest 4k in tassie, was sooooooo slow in my kesev, id imagine that a few less kg would help a little. used to rev good just didnt get anywhere, i even tried to chirp 2nd.... failed. i did rip a one wheel ringy on a painted concrete driveway which i was stoked about.. rain is natures gift to corolla's
  16. yes they should be okay, they arnt the best offset, they will sit inside the guards a little but a nice upgrade from standard. stud pattern is 4x114.3 popular sizes are 14x7 zero-low positive offset wider wheels need more positive offset to sit the same. also if the car is really slamming low then you may have issues with guard/tyre clearance. if you get wheels that are too positive they will hit the strut. for example, I'm selling some 14x7 -5offset and on my lowish car i had to flare my guards slightly but with a higher car you could probaly get away with standard guards, they also where fine on the front with super stiff springs because the suspension didnt dosent move to the finger thickness clearance on the guard/tyre is fine.
  17. wheels aluminum dash fiberglass/aluminum race seat chrome molly cage (some make it of mild steel) fuel cell small dry cell battery (the lite kind?) remove anything that isnt nessesary excess wiring emissions etc. lexen rear window thats a start
  18. paradice racing in the US used to make extractors but they have been discontinued for a while. they still do cams. i have a lightly modded 4ac, i can see with extractors, bit more comp and sidedrafts that it would make squidles of power. i have a crappy exhaust, cam and 32/36. PM me, ill share some suggestions i have from what research i have done.
  19. got a pair of starsharks, bolts are a tad corroded but apart from that they are overrated! even came with a ssr and rays valve caps!!!111!!
  20. there are a number of box's that will bolt up, one of those a is the 6speed from the altezza/is200? if the motor has had a fair amount of boost going threw it for 7years or more than you may want to think about pulling it down and replacing a few of the parts, like rings bearings. for all your tought building needs, these guys specialise in toyota 4cly 2/3t, 4age etc. lots and lots of parts for 3tgte. http://www.paradiseracing.com/index.htm
  21. ah yes, ill comment... cccooommmmeeennntttttt date yeah f@$ken should be alright for that date, sounds like a Mc' plan STan ... yes ive just had my morning caffine fix hence my annoyingness edit: I'm going to be evil today, my post count is 666.... death, no one f@$k with me hahaha
  22. the ke70 is the only p plate leagal car in nsw
  23. no your not the first to do this and I'm "bashing my keyboard" for good reason. okay so i was fairly pissed off last night and i kinda took some of that out on your thread. ill give you the run down on the s13 gear. benefits: cheap brake upgrade, if you use ca18 brake you can still fit 14's over them which is a plus to some people used coilovers are fairly cheap and easy to get along with a std brake setup compared to move conventional methods huge amounts of lock is achievable downfalls: severely upsets front end geometry (because it has no droop as the suspension moved) steering gets heavier as you turn which gives it an inconsistency perhaps for just a cheap drift car than it maybe exceptable but 2 of my mates who have gone with s13 gear, liked the amount of lock and was happy to start with but realised later that it really just doesn't work. one removed the set-up and sold it and the other put up with it until he is able to afford a 86 coilover setup. you wouldn't even think for a second of using it in a car that was going to be used primarily for grip driving, it doesn't matter quite as much with suspension for a drift setup especially as a lower "thrasher/fun" level. as for my comments on a ca, even in standard for they are going to power a 900kg car along fairly easily as you have probaly figured and can usually be picked up fairly cheaply as they seem to be the 4ac of the nissan world. if it was going to be a dedicated track car then your able to cut the fire wall so you can mount the motor as far back as possible. you can potentially improve the weight distribution if your willing to put in extra work to archive this. how ever most do not then you see people doing engine conversions and going, "hhmm where do i put the radiator", its fairly obvious that the motor is too far forward. I'm sure your aware of this put the more weight you put forward of the crossmember the more it becomes unbalanced, a car that it too front heavy will be prone to understeer.
  24. I'm not sure about tuning the std carb, if it is tune able then a manual wont really help. any other engine specs can be found on the underside of the bonnet and in an owners manual. in owners manual, it says the recommended oil for motor, box and diff. ignition timing, spark plug model, gap, thermostat temperature etc. filters can be looked up instore. what exactly do you want to know?? if there are other parts of the car that need attention that arnt listed in a owners manual give us a yell because someone has surely fix/repaired what ever your having trouble with.
