  1. you can usually fine used parts without too much hassel......
  2. me and nother guy are kinda doing a cheap build in tassie actually. I'm putting in man hours more than anything lol ke20 shell with cage, bucket, tailshaft, fuel system and engine mounts for a 4ag $200 rwd 4ag complete with loom $900 box $200 few other bits cool bit, should be a very reliable long life thrasher. these sort of projects are always the most fun!!
  3. this thing will cut a descent skid!
  4. say what you want i don't think that a stock ke70 is worth 2-3k and as for my comment about it being a s'box, stock they do not handle well, go fast, and arnt anything special in the comfort department and guzzle fuel... having said that once some of these problems are solved with minimal mods it completely transforms them into a cheap box of fun. ill always have one. i don't think anyone could really disagree with what i have said though.. lol at "bog" comment....
  5. i havnt ever properly experienced a locker but there are so many conflicting opinions, some say there there is a mild increase of understeer, some say none and others say its instant death, you can turn the car. while i have been tempted to lock my diff, my car is still a daily, I'm the only person to drive my car and i don't have passengers all that often. but my car oversteers more then it should now, so adding a weldy may make it positively slide spec everywhere. even just normal driving, i was going around a sweeper in the wet at about 100km's and i felt it starting to slide. in the dry i was going a tad quick into a roundabout on the highway ended up tail out halfway around (very easy to control but everyone looks at you like a dick head who "almost lost it"). id very much like a 1-way lsd but I'm not going to be able to aford one for a while yet. my car is focused towards hills grip driving (a also do skids but that is a secondary thing). due to farked, slopped out sun gears or some shit, it does tend to lock up kinda of like a loose lsd. so on low grip curfaces (wet road, gravel) it will spin both wheels. but trying to come out of a tight uphill corner it will just crank one and bog down in wheel spin, this is the only time i would want a weldy really, to get out of the corner.
  6. it may actually be sparking properly and burning the fuel, are you sure it didnt ping before? my 4k would ping with standard timing on regular.
  7. that is a weber^^ I'm not sure if the carb needs some of those vaccumes etc for it to run properly or not. you could also swap over the carb from the ke70 4k. i put a weber on my 4ac and ripped off all the emmisions, only run the advance to the dizzy.
  8. guards wont line up with the doors. why don't you want to keep the te72 front end? is it the series 1 or 2? all that is needed is a pimp front lip :D going to a ke70 front end would be going backwards imo.
  9. sick as, i didnt see that pic when i posted, doesn't look too bad. oh and if i was to sell mine i wouldn't be selling to general public probaly as yes it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea being "modified". good luck, cut skids
  10. re read what he posted, he got the fiddy five. prices vary so much with corollas. there are a lot of c**ts out there who put huge grate big prices on them, like 2-3k for a average spec ke70. they say its a good car good on fuel blah blah, at the end of the day its a smeg box in every way apart from perhaps being reasonably reliable in some cases...
  11. i don't live in qld thats why i suggested checking the state laws. there are also track restrictions as well so if you live in a state that requires a RWC or have super harsh coppers this maybe an issue for you. if you have an offset that has the wheel sitting well inside the guards yes 17/18's probaly wouldn't be a problem. destroying wheel archs? wtf, what do you think "pumped" guards are. this is a common practice right threw out car enthusiast/modifiers. my car isnt old school, not a drift car and isnt jdm spec. i have had to modify the guards to fit proper offset wheels. so to have the same offset in a 17/18" you would have to have the car much higher or shorten the guard lips which was the point i was making. if you wish to see "destroyed guards" have a look in my thread. i use 14" wheels because they are period correct, meaning i like how they look its my personal preference. skid tyres are cheap. i perfur the feel of 14"s, ive used 15"s with many different tyres wernt happy with them so i went back to 14". for all performance 15"s maybe better but they just arnt for me. 15" wheels are really ideal as have a big chose of tyres but tyres arnt super profile less so the tyre car actually work. yes you read correctly the car will handle much better with correctly sized wheels. so having a 215/35 maybe be good for picking up chicks at the local kabab shop and doing hektic dorifto, but other than that they are best left to bigger cars. or do some people need to compensate for something?
  12. you could also have it a few teeth out.. you really need a timing light to dude.
  13. brendo had some rx7 injectors

  22. got incontact with the guy who had it previously, just as he was advertising the 4spot callipers, got the whole set-up. best thing is they fit under 13's :D thanks anyway, and thanks si, wont be needing those callipers or hubs thanks.
  23. looks fairly damn clean. have you got any more pajero springs? any idea of there rate?
  24. hhmm, i don't think my car will be coming to this its kinda a smooth road only car, slam-ness 10kg front springs are very forgiving on a sealed road, okay on smooth gravel but thats about it.
