  1. agreed to the above, if you can have it off the road for a few weeks for the rebuild.. buying a 2nd hand motor esp an old one like a 4k, is really a gamble. unless you can test drive it or see it running before removal. or if your paying like $0-50 like i do for 4ac, thrash them for 6-12months then when they pop replace them.. having said that i plan to rebuild one for a bit more punt :) 1 rebuilt motor for the price of 10 used motors haha.. prob last 4 times as long tho and make an extra 40% more power than a stock one.
  2. ive got a muffler up front, a resonator half way then straight pipe into 2.25 over the diff.. i wouldn't recommend it unless your in tassie. nice and growly but it wouldn't come close to passing under 90db
  3. no i understand yours is the blue car, and that in the photo's its lower than your avatar... I'm still saying its high. looks like its at the standard hight of most normal cars, instead of looking like it has a 2" lift kit that is a stock ke70 springs. i want mine lower, its still too high.
  4. pair of weber IDF carbs http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...em=270306219357
  5. bahaha!! the "ears" that you refur to are actually more commonly refured to as "fendor mirrors" and budowski, your car is massive high!
  6. you cna get another "chunky" one. i assume the you have the slant fron with the mirror attached in the corner of the glass rather than bolted to the actual door metal as early ke had. you can get factory LHS ones from an AE71 etc. they bolt inplace of the hole thats blanked off. T-18 ones will also fit the same.
  7. agreed with te278u other sides have disclaimers. in a previous cut springs thread, a car was mentioned to have crashed because of cut springs (a spring popping out). i think the point was the it had normal stroke shocks and the springs popped out. it could have happened and would have been more likely to with stiffer/lower aftermaket springs. i think that seems to be the real issue with them. so right there you have some misleading information. I'm not saying that cut springs are not illegal or totally safe.. nothing is a garentee. i admit to my car is not technically road worth I'm many areas. how ever it can manuver and stop a hell of a lot quicker than it did when i got it completely standard. oh and fair enough about removing my earlier post..
  8. why was my post deleted? if your worried about legality, go buy some kings low springs and have it riding nice and high. another option is to have the springs reset, which involves your standard springs being heated and compressed making them lower. this is performed by a spring works usually. to do this in your shed in my opinion would be much more likely to be dangerous than actually cutting the springs. always remember to use short stroke shocks particularly in the rear where the springs do have the potential to pop out and have you riding really low. stiffer springs need stiffer/slower valved shocks to adequately dampen. edit- seems that resetting springs may also be illegal i used to run cut standard springs, now i have some proper low TRD rear springs with short shocks. and up front they are some random springs but they are well cut.
  9. replied x1
  10. never heard of a 23 spline t-50 one 20 or 22. $50 PM me if you want it. its from a S2-t-18 which seem to have 22 spline boxs.
  11. I'm not sure about this big and small spline... do you mean 20 and 22 spline?? i have a front section tailshaft which fits into a 22 spline (ae71/sprinter version) box..
  12. can vouch for the neatness of that cressy^^ featured in rescent rollaclub meet/photo shoot WTB: cheap st/rt141 corona sedan, or xt130 wagon needs to have a good body and reasonable interior engine and gearbox not essential, or in any condition. pref manual. wanted for engine conversion will pay extra for manual RT142 (22RE/2.4L injected motor) wtb thread HERE
  13. well the silly bugger should except sponsors. ive been trying to come onboard as a legitimate sponsor for the site but to no avail.
  14. lol, ah well, can't win them all ah casey.. i still got my milf :jamie: as for the free RC sticker i wanted to put mine on the back lol. but had to go on the front for the shot.. is the RC mods making money outta the stickers cause $5 is a tad steep for them really. i say bring back the retro ones that have RC on them. like the one one dans brothers "redrocket" (sorry i forget his name lol)

  20. yeah fark caseys shitter, what about my bus ? its JDM yo, well JDM wheelz and shiz could even give it a wash for it lol
  21. any news?
  22. if the tranny is a bit shaggus and isnt using full engine power (kinda like driving with a slipping clutch in a manual), this may account for the motor having no power... general servicing never gose astray.
  23. you don't have to shorten the diff. just use wheels with a smaller offset. which tend to be half the price :laff:
  24. howie, thats not justins old t-18 is it?
  25. meh, mine used to go "bang" like hitting a church bell with a hammer kinda thing (read less deafening lol). its fine now, just needed more thrashing.... also added some synco in a tube to it the other day. makes shifting into 2nd possible when cold now lol.
