  1. have you tryed kyb? they have good perfomance shocks at very competitive prices, much cheaper than Tokico, or you maybe be better (and cheaper) to swap to a diffrent strut.... david lawson is your man for the kyb's, or he might be able to hook you up with some others, 0407 716 089, tell him aaron from tassie sent you.... he is a good bloke and will look after you.
  2. if it was the rotors whouldnt you feel it in the steering, wouldnt make a thump nosie....?? and you should be able to hear what sprt of place its coming from, i.e front, rear, somewhere inbetween...
  3. you mut be able to get cheap a cheap 4age, or that must be one very expensive cam/zorst.... with exhaust, you sort of have to do it any way, so either way if you go ge later its not a total waste of money
  4. yes indeed, will like to see the wrest of this, as I'm about to start taking mine out in the next few days for my 4a conversion.... big up to you :P
  5. if its not a mani leak, maybe just a distributor cap/button away from being fixed, unless the conerctors look in very good condition. as my old datto had a miss, parobaly a little diffrent from yours but yeah..
  6. what they fark are you smacking on about? falcons and commodores rule the road? not where i drive.. depends on what you want out of a car, if you want luxuary, climate control, electric seats, soft gay suspesion, dead feeling on the road, blending into a cround with ease then yes a falcon or commodor is for you. but if you want hard suspension, exellent grip, high cornering speed capabilities, shit hot brakes, n/a scram, rasor sharp chassis than an australian built car is not for you. for example a early celsior say 1990 model (i know of a bloke who has one) it has 10way or is it 20 way ajustable electronic seats, rear seats with massagers, airbag suspension as well as the climate control and FULL leather interior. the new statesmans are only just come out with that same sorts of electronic ajustment on the seats, 15 or so years earlyer!! that for me just gose to show how much far ahead japanise technology is. also take the most expensive factory leather interior made in australia and compare it with the qualitiy of a celsior. i don't really care for interior so this dosent really wory me, my current seat is actuall welded up to it only has fawards and back ajustment until i put my bucket in there. next, take the quality of the machanics, it is 16 years old and it drives fairly much like it would new, on the other hand the commodor at this point is a VN, and i belive the statesman has just recived IRS? idi i mention the celsoir has airbags? on the ohter hand the celsoir was a very expensive car new, but it had the quality and refinement of a much much more expensive merc or bwm....
  7. fark these things are a bit more expensive than i thought, i thought you could get them for about 150, rang up repco and they are $$$320 although it could lift my enitre ke70... almost
  8. ah, just been out for one last mountain run in the ae71 before she gets wrecked, as it happens it is also the lat day of rego. and for all you out there who recon ae71's arnt much better than ke70's you are wrong!! its so much more fun to drive, i actually got quite a bit of wheel spin (4AC shock :P) and it kicked out a few times!! bare in mind this is with some (hardish compound) 195 tyres on the rear and that it was bone dry on the road.... and no i wasnt clutching it or anything, just driving it quite simerla to what i woul do the ke70 but it was so much faster.. oh well will start on the ae71 today, i would rather be putting a 4age in, but i can go much faster still with the 4ac, e.i. suspension... that should always come before power as well as brakes..
  9. na not much in the way of metal laying around, if i had to buy all the steel, ram, chain, castor wheels all new it would be probaly as much if not more.. plus the time.. sorry i don't htink its viable for me. thanks for the thought tho, they say thats what counts :P still havnt got hold of one :) any help is aprecated
  10. hey, I'm after the useage of a engine crane, need it for 1-2 weeks... starting now perfure somewhere between dev and launnie (tassie) will dontate a few bucks, ke70/ae71 parts or some piss to anyone who can help me out in my time of need... reply or PM thanks aaron
  11. thats cool with me, just the one thats in my ke is rather noisy, the one in the ae seems almost silent.. both have simerla km's, but the ae has been thrashed but the ke has had granny owners.. spose it just gose to show how much slideage grannies get after retirement :P
  12. i think you need a higher paying job :P you should build a monster 3T would be a bit diffrent.. hell t-18's are diffrent
  13. ive got a few part around here than need useing so all will go into the ke70, exedy and thermo will be added into the mix, as well as the tacho dash, ae71 diff (not sure if they have s-series or borg like the 70????) struts with the slighly better brakes, and CUTTIES!!!!!
  14. ok, change of plans, the ae71 i brought has some rust, the paint is shit, and its just a bit rough all over. so I'm putting the 4ac into the ke70, so thats part way to 4age. also the ae71 is still in nsw rego so it would have to have the rust fixed to pass inspection and i don't actually have a receipt for its purchus so, so not in my name :P never fear though, what i payed for it is easly worth that in 4a conversion parts, and at the end of it all, i have a heap of spares, plus some things to sell http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=10824 and i have a cleanish ae71....
  15. series 1 t-18 bumpers look simmerla to the jdm ke70 ones rear jdm crome ke70 bumper crome bumper with big lip and twin headlights, looks very hot!!!
  16. here is a jdm ke70 i belive
  17. i will probaly be there if i have money for fuel...
  18. you can also use ones from adm sprinters, i test fitted a rear one, the brackets are about the same, they willneed some cutting and trimming to fit right but make them look lower. Theoretically you could put ae82 aftermarket bumpers on if sprinters one fit.. or you could go the cut down on the front with a big lip/chin spoiler.. that would look very hot!!!
  19. there are many choice as to what carby you should put on. figure out what you want, e.g. down draft, side dradt, single, twin or quad!!!!!! if you go with a bigger single down draft, weber for example, you can buy an adapter plate for the stock mani or make one as have been said. twin carbs will require a new manifold to attach them too. if you are getting a carby that has not been on a 4ac, these a big chance you may have to get it rejetted to suit the motor, this is done by a carby specialist. plus tuning... $$$ you can have the best carby setup in the world but if it isnt tuned well it can be shitter than stock.
  20. fark that thing looks hot though, definatly a good pig spec...
  21. hhmmm 1 post, wonder if john will continue to be on and join the rollaclub team... looks like he haas been on resently to check this thread maybe.. i think its silly how you guys argue about things as what size wheels came on what, these no need to slam each others faces in the mud. why can't we all just get along...
  22. they sure do.. so do you recon a s-series will fit? or t-series? edit: without shortening the t/shaft
  23. oh does anyone know if an s-series will fit without modifying the t/shaft? cause I'm not keen on spending money on a diff that is rooted and whines like a c**t..
  24. problem found, the cylinder in the drum it leaking, just like my ae71, exept that is totaly farked. thanks to all that contributed btw, they where ajusted not too bad, although they are getting farilry low.. just that cylinder...
  25. tryed that one, yes it did go in a little. funnaly enough they feel a bit better than the other week.. they felt like they may actually might slow me down a little if i used them.. another joy of owning an old car, things that change each time you drive it. it aint as old as my first car, that was made in 1973. didnt have a spot of troble with that. they still don't feel 100% like they where before, will check the rears the sarvo.. hopefully thats all it is :jamie:
