Where Is The Best Place To Get Bits For The W58box?
tas_ae71 replied to KE25 RACER's topic in General Mechanical
toyota is a obvious place, but if your after used bits etc, toymods is the best forum. PPG do a super tough gearset but i think its around 8 grand, this is what leighton fine used in his gte 86. personaly i would have to say there are no substertute for toyota genuine parts alternately a transmission and or local bearing place should have what you need. -
cheers trev, i thought everyone was ignoring me
-
any love anyone..? so you need a ae82 4ac coil..?
-
my dad works in the bush, he said the snow was 3-4inch thick... he rang about 4pm he said most of it had melted by them but hell.. the other day these was frost on the ground at my house and it didnt melt all day...

yeah if they tyres are unbalanced it can cause shake in the steering farly bad. that and wheel alignment. there are ways to check wheel bearings/ball joints.. a balance even on worn tyres can grately reduce this. if your after some good used tyres and your in tassie give me a yell and i can get some for you cheap.

yeah one of those also came with a 7K

4ac Turbo Or 4ac N/a (paradise Racing)

yeah avgas/98 mix -
also if you buy new springs and they bump up the hight you can alway cut them down a little to the correct hight. and don't give me bullshit about it being dodgy all you grandmas out there, springs are made to be cut  if the springer are stiffer than standard then they are even better. From my experience with kings they arnt much stiffer than standard.

hardcore... this bloke lives in tassie, as if you would  a weeek ago i had to go to work early, i chucked a bucket of water across my windscrean then switched the wipers on, one stroke and the water had frozen again... got some slightly warmer water, it worked a second time, but as i was driving down the road with my wipers going (now late for work) you could see the water frezing accross the windscreen....

Differences Between 3 Ribbed 4a Blocks?
tas_ae71 replied to Killswitch's topic in General Mechanical
i know you can put the bottem and from bigport mtors in, i am doing this myself as soon as i can aford the cost of building the motor. the cranks are also a hell of a lot lighter, as I'm keeping the 4ac crank, it has only half the counter weights of a ge item. I'm just not sure on the head. thanks for that killswitch, i wonder if anyone has one laying around i could try, would be a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a expensive sandwich plate.. -
what springs are you talking about, and what sort of problems are you having? need to be abit more spacific bud.

can you get a sandwich plate for a oil-cooler and put it on a 4ac...? -
i don't mean to asume, but at a thought the jetting one a pair of carbs that are from a 1.6 that are going to another 1.6 would be fairly close....? i would imagine that a 2tg would have better flowing propertys but not enough that the carbs need to be rejetted. if you think these are too big, then why do people put quad thorttels onto a 4age? if bacisly doing the same thing... they put them on for better responce and because they can flow more air.
-
nick, i have a 4ac... I'm looking at the price for the solex's. are there really any major design diffrences between solex and weber/dellortos? yes i realise that sidedrafts are better, thats why i said i was planning on getting a pair in the future. i would like to know why they are so bad? I'm not gaving ago at you in the slightest I'm just curious to know. the reson i don't have a 4ag is alot to do with money. for the time being this is the cheaper option, when i build the new motor, including what i will already have it will be simerler to the cost of a ge. how ever when i am finnish with 4ac's i will be moving onto a 4ag without i dought, unless i get some amazing results with a head of much worse design.
-
quick question with this, so you wack a ae82 dizzy in and you need a diffrent coil but all the wiring is the same correct?
-
i was thinking the opsite, i thought they would be a little on the small side for any serious power.. side drafts with 4 throttes are going to be able to flow alot more than a smaller twin thotte.. will put a pair for mikuni solexs on when I'm able to offord them.
-
yeah the bonnute, wheels, exhaust, hight of car althought it isnt that low.. Thanks nick, this gives me some idea of what to expect. i surpose its no good having a cam that is capable of more rpm than the motor.. that why i think mine is going to be well suit to what i want. is a 32/36 big enough to use with a bigger cam..?
-
big or small cam wouldnt make any diffrence with the way may car looks... a black bonute and 'P' plates are definate cop magnets
-
if they where =5 and you had 2m taken off that would make them +7 it mostly depends on the tyres you use...
-
cops doing you for a big cam..? i have a uneven idel because its too rich :) belive me i have had worse than a big cam to rob abit of low down power, the carb will make up for that so it will drive like standard under 4,000 hit than and its away... edit* got intouch with aus perfomance springs, he said they would be between $7-16 per spring so thats between $56-$128 plus shipping, so thats fairly broard. could be cheap or expensive if anyone else wants a set while I'm at it, i have to send a spring to get a copy from so i could get extra, may make it a little cheaper too..
-
WACK!! seriously that would make a blind man with dark sunnies duck for cover....
-
depends on what your actualy going to rev it to.. or if your just doing it for the bump in the idel...? as i said mine is rated 3500-7500rpm so I'm hoing it will be alright for everyday driving :)
-
pics on the vehical in question...? it says e.g. ke70e-5509585 (ke70 corolla) on the firewall have you looked for this its pressed in there on australian corolla's?
-
kangaroo, any idea what sort of duration that cam was? was that how it always ideled because mine used to idel llike that when it was cold witht he stock carb.. edit* just saw the heading... 290
-
as i said thats what the guy who i brought it off of said, it was either 6.mm or.8mm extra lift. I'm trying to spend as little as possible :) what do you mean by 'binding'? does anyone have a cam with a simerla profile that they could take a vidio clip of..? how do you find them to drive?
