  1. hey, I'm building a 4ac, i have got most of it covered exept for a few things - where to get ARP rod bolts - what i can do to the head apart from porting i.e. dobble valve springs..? - what rings to use, have bigport pistons not sure if the rings are the same as 4ac or not ( ACL maybe?) the build is on a low budget so not uber expensive parts for me. regards aaron please people i do not want to hear how stupid this is and why don't i just buy a 4age. i have my resons

  3. 2t and 3t as the same series alot of parts should be the same/ interchangeable.. 2tg/3t has been done previous.. gluck with it what ever way you go..
  4. what the f**k..? put a 4k into a ae71.. worked 4k pissing on a 4ac? what the hell is wrong with you people?? i have a ke70, it had a stock but healthy 4K (everyone said it went well for a 4k), i put a thrashed 4ac in and it had so much more power, both motor where stock. anyone who puts a 4k into a ae71 for anyless than a paddock basher cause he sold the cross member out of it is a nutter. ke70's are much cheaper generaly to buy in the first place. its like saying ive got a rather big penis, might have some cut off to make it smaller. a 4k would piss on a 4ac if you spent money on it, but if you spent the quivelent on a 4ac it would be in front definately!! AlloroC: put another 4ac in until you have the cash/parts to do a 4age conversion, do a bit of research, there are threds available on many web sites giveing info on what has to be done to put a ge in, depending on how much work you do your self your looking at upto 2grand. if you don't need much in the way of power (not as little as 4k, oh god) keep the 4ac, put a bigger carb on it, 32/36 webbers are populer choice and are fairly cheap, around 100 bucks and it should do the job well. have you ever owned a 4K powered anything..? they are slow unless you throw heaps of money at it... edit: sorry for the massive flameage of 4K's but a really dislike them, they are tough motors but they are also make the car very very slow, slower than a 4ac.
  5. 4ac is about to die, it has a blown head gasket and posabley a cracked head.... so I'm keeping my eye out, mite ring up the wreckers tomorow, aparently they have quite a few.
  6. why not upgrade to a 5k? you will gert quite a bit more power and makes a better base to start with... altho they arnt the most common engine around, not like 3/4k's

  8. it looks abit sprinterish from some angles... i like it very much, better than cut down stock bumpers... mine is zippie tied on so it wont provide any resistance if i hit something (wild life) and you have to cut quite a bit out of them to make hem fit. ive spent a few hours with the angle grinder to make it fit and it still could use more work... will get sum pics soon
  9. i have lots of ke70 stuff in the forsale section.. 4k-c good sold motor still heaps of life left in the old girl, didnt blow any smoke that I'm aware of, reved nicely- $20bucks most interior bits on csx ae71 some of it a little ratty no drivers seat offers..? velour rear seat, very pimp, get the girls.... ke70 clock dash cluster, works well offers? ke70/ae71 complete struts and brakes, lcs's motor and box x-members, front swaybar (bigger than 86) good condition rear bumper ke70 exhaust, good condition front half off of my other car slightly better than stock maybe, not rusted, no holes offers? plenty of other stuff just PM me on what your after also have a t-18 which would be good for struts/brakes up grade on ke70's and other early ke rolla's prices are low on most things, just would like a few bucks to go towards my ke70 project, not wrecking to be a millionare
  10. shit man thats not really that much work for that much power! any idea of the compression..? how much diffrence do you recon the cams made? ive got a 290degree cam with extra lift for my 4ac, I'm not to sure what thats like with the 4ac and i know its diffrent with single cam.. also is that a single down draft solex? how big is the throtte/s do you know?

  15. i read about this somewhere ages ago before they where relised that they the front looked like a truck, they whernt wrong, that thing would munch trucks for brekfast.. what powers it? a turbo 7.3L V8 like the smaller ones or a 111.1L?

  17. it means that it needs smaller jets so that it dosent drown in fuel as a 2L requires more fuel than a 1.3L. you can't just wack it on and it will run unfortuneatly, but it isnt a big deal to get it changed.. its also webber..
  18. 4ac is in and running (just) haapy with the extra power, wasnt as much as i remembered tho, even more so after driving a t-18 abit, 3tc's are very torquey in comparisin
  19. hey there you can weld your diff centre to help with drifting it, its not as good as a proper lsd but better than the single spinner. it maybe ilegal in your country as it is in australia. power steering can be found in japanise ae86 but isnt needed for drift really.. the only way you can really drift a ke70 with the 4K (1.3L) is in the wet.. if you want to really have ago in the dry you will need a 4age (1.6L, efi) but that corner should be ok in the wet..

  21. well at least you have a cool/rice star button.. even tho its a new starter it may be possible that its faulty.. give it a tap with the ol hammer like you would a farked one.. edit: if you have good power at the starter and its got a good earth then it must be faulty..? nothing else it could be

  23. i have got some jdm calipers from dave at AJPS and some reco seal kits for them aswell.. just hunting down some struts to do with them as we speak... ke70 will be coming off the road most probaly tomorow as its getting the 4ac crammed in it, so the horrible 4k will be out along with that crappy box... to its credit it been very reliable to me, the only real donw fall with it is the lack of power 4K's have and the amoun of fuel they consume... have also brought a pair of 15"s for the front which will get tyres when i find some nice 2nd hand ones in good condition with good compounds...
  24. from what i know you need to have a good port and polish if you have a high revving na motor or turbo (increase flow, decrease presure from restriction), where it max air flow is needed... so in my opinion, unless it has big dags, from poor manufacturing, should be fine, unless you are chasing big power with other internal work...
  25. i think its a good idea to have these sorts of this posted amd made stickys, cause its a very common problem for people to have there car running rough, just hope people actualy do enough research to actually read threds like this.... my ke is just developing a miss, notice it on idel, seems to have got worse over the last few days (or maybe i just hadent noticed it before) mite try this.. also just brought a plug tester seem you put the electrode if it on the lead (you don't get the shock ;)) it is surpost to light up brighter the higher the current.. mite go try it right now..... :)
