Nissan S12 Irs Ca18et Enginered
MRMOPARMAN replied to ghettoke70's topic in For Sale - Cars - Non Toyota
notice the D missing from ca18Det? do some research on nissan abbreviations and you will find why this car looks like it has a CA20 in it. GL with the sale. if i had any spare cash it would be in my driveway -
on some cars its easier to do it that way, as sometimes the subframe gets in the way, engine mounts bolted to gearbox, etc etc. however corollas are one of the easiest cars do do clutches on. just make sure you get a clutch alignment tool before you do the job. it will make your job 11ty billion times easier

exhausts are over-rated. just run without it :no2:

i bought mine from the local motorcycle shop. all approved and everything. was about $90 from memory

damn damn damn. if chryslers on the murray wasnt on id be there for sure! meeting clashes FTL! :P

i agree with what everyone has said here DON'T MAKE YOUR HOBBY A CAREER i wanted to be a mechanic since the age of about 7ish. finally got into the trade, got treated like shit and ripped off numerous times etc. by my 3rd year id seen the error of my ways and have been trying to get out ever since. however now no-one wants a dryed up 27yo ex mechanic. the trade keeps on sucking you back in. i can't even get into bloody tafe to do a pre apprenticeship! ive been applying for electrical, plumbing, engineering, horticulture, building etc (all apprenticeships) and in 4 years of sending out resumes, door knocking business' getting freinds to talk to their boss' etc, ive had 4 interviews and no job offers. :P ive also found it impossible to get part time jobs (eg stacking shelves/pizza deliveries etc) as they think I'm too over qualified. so it would be near impossible to support myself if i COULD get into tafe/uni etc. and at the end of the day.. I'm a fully qualified mechanic, with heaps of electrical experience (worth gold in the industry) speicalised in quite a few different parts of the trade over the years, heaps of certificates and shit from trade school... and my mates missus is a checkout chick at IGA.. she gets paid $3hr MORE than me. yeah who'd wanna be a f**king mechanic! (sorry for the rant.. i REALLY needed to get that off my chest)

you'll find the eaton M series superchargers are actually roots type superchargers, not screw type. however bang for buck, they're still a great supercharger to use. everyones jumped on the toyota sc12/14 bandwagon and blown the prices way out of proportion to what their actually capable of.

shag pile carpet on the dash and some fuzzy dice for the rear view mirror would go down nicely

I'm soooooooooo there! should be a great showing from bendigo car club too, since were near on an hour from echuca. now whats the chances of getting my race car on rally rego, i ponder :) hey colin, do you know if challenge of the clubs, in ballarat? is still going? havent heard about it for years!
-
theres a joint in coburg (melbourne) that does dash restos aswell. did a great job on my mates esky. id doubt he (or anyone else for that matter) would be able to match the original grain, but would probably find something so close, no one would know/care anyways

LOL. quoted so you can't change it.. :) theres NO WAY exhaust tubing would be suitable for any sort of rollcage. if you can bend it by running into solid dirt at walking pace, imagine what hitting a tree at 100kmh+ would do to it. rob, how much experience do you have with welding, bending etc. if your not excellent at it, your chances of meeting cams approval is pretty slim. my advice to you, if you wanna get it done as chaply as possible, buy a car already done. or maybe a rooted car with cage, cut the roof off both cars and transfer cage to good car. goodluck, as other have said start a build thread and keep us updated. love the rally rollaz :P

massive thanks to jarrad, tate, ben and everyone else that organised this trip yet again. all the hard work you guys have put in has really paid off! my car actually made it back in one piece this year.. quite suprising considering the amount 'spirited flogging' it copped compared to last year. bring on GOR5!! only 364ish sleeps to go :D
