Shaky Steering Wheel At Certain Speed????
MRMOPARMAN replied to DoAwEe's topic in General Mechanical
no, just normal ball and race style CV joints on both cars. obviously internal design differs slightly from vehcile to vehicle, but you get the picture. -
i don't mean anything as i was taking the piss.. ohwell i thought it was funny :lolcry:

Shaky Steering Wheel At Certain Speed????
MRMOPARMAN replied to DoAwEe's topic in General Mechanical
as i said in the previous post, they can be f@$ked, but not click on turns. had this exact problem at work 1 week ago on an n14 pulsar, and about a month ago on a PT cruiser. both shook the shit outta the steering wheel at 60+kmh but never clicked on turns. makes things a pita to diagnose -
Shaky Steering Wheel At Certain Speed????
MRMOPARMAN replied to DoAwEe's topic in General Mechanical
negitive castor can cause a steering shimmy. however unless the cars been smashed i don't think its possible to get that much neg castor on an AE92 iirc. check the tyres for bulges, and get them balanced for starters. check your wheel bearings, balljoints, tierods (inner and outer) bushes etc for wear and damage. also driveshafts can wear oddly in the CV and not show up (eg clicking in corners etc), that can be tricky to diagnose. this may sound stupid but check to make sure the wheels are mounted on the hubs correctly (assuming they've been off recently) -
Ae82 A/c Gas And Wiper Sweep Questions
MRMOPARMAN replied to MRMOPARMAN's topic in AExx Corolla Discussion
lol, thanks for the reply anyways teddy. it will be a good reference for anyone else that may be going through a similar process in the future -

i wouldnt go a TG engine in a KE15, especially turbo'd. they are a physically large 4cyl engine, and very heavy. it will leave you precious little space to play with the turbo system, and will weigh the front end down badly! id be going K engine for sure. ive seen them before with 150rwkw turbo charged 5ks, so its definately possible. or even go 7k. 150rwkw with the torque it will produce will make you shit your pants anyways!

Ae82 A/c Gas And Wiper Sweep Questions
MRMOPARMAN replied to MRMOPARMAN's topic in AExx Corolla Discussion
thanks for the reply. the old ac machine at work doesnt have green lines etc. i just went off pressures. to get the pressures right it worked out to around 400g of gas. as for the wipers, i havent had time to check, but I'm thinking linkages atm, as its like every 2nd/3rd sweep it will go too far on drivers side only, all other times its good. -
just bolt some training wheels to the door handles, that'll sort her out  sorry to hear about mel, hope she gets better soon! date pending, id love to join in on a spur run. I'm pretty busy this month though. anyone goin to winton on the 16th for the fun day?

anyone seen the latest economy run in australia? the hyundai i30 diesel and the audi a3? diesel absolutely owned the prius on economy and harmful gas emissions. obviously this doesnt take into account the future (rather the lack of it) of fossil fuels, and I'm sure the prius would bring the figure back a fair bit on a city cycle. but it goes to show theres a bit of life in ye ol combustion engine yet. oh and a little while ago in the herald sun + toymods, there was a story about using the economy advantage of various cars to 'pay back' the emissions that it cost to build the car. turns out the prius would take 197,000km or something to work its emissions off. a fair bit more that others. ill try and find the article if i remember. edit: here it is... http://www.toymods.net/forums/showthread.p...highlight=prius

the switching side of a relay needs very little voltage to close the circuit. so you shouldnt have any problems with starting/running etc. id also be running a seperate switch to either send power/earth it out incase of circuit failure. ill post up a picture of my setup when i work out how to use photoshop. i actually use ign feed off the coil also :lolcry:

as littleredspirit said, give it a bleed, check to make sure the brakes are in good nick (eg shoes, pads, wheel cyl leaks etc) and adjust the rear shoes if everything seems ok.

howdy guys, gonna regas a twinky tomorrow, but i noticed the sticker under the bonnet has fallen off/gone missing. can anyone tell me how many grams are required for a regas? also when the wipers are turned on the drivers wiper has way too much sweep, to the point that the drivers blade sweeps off the 'A' pillar. yet it parks in the proper spot and has no play in the linkages when the wipers are turned off. anyone know whats goin on with that? thanks, cameron.

Brake Rotor That Doesn't Have The Correct Center Hole Id
MRMOPARMAN replied to beerhead's topic in General Mechanical
just buy the rotors as blanks, and get an engineering shop to machine the holes to desired size -
cmon mate thats a tad harsh.. he hasnt betrayed anyone! hes always been a valiant man and has just bought another to satisfy his wagoneering desires.. its a bit of gear if i do say so myself :) but I'm sure hed be up for some more cruises. all cruises he organised had a 'whatever goes' policy, and I'm sure that wont change. also, out of all the rolla club cruises ive been to, all were organised by jarrod (with help of course), he didnt have to, and i havent seen anyone else organising anything. ok now ill get off my soapbox. i agree it has been very quiet. there was a cruise only a few weeks ago, i reckon thats part of the reason why. so what sort of cruise does everyone have in mind?
