  1. yea for sure.. been on a few cruises up there with the celica club, awesome roads up that way
  2. I'm in like flynn for this one.. this time i wont be getting quite so drunk though.. jarrads lawn is still paying the price :lolcry: stu, ya can't miss baccus, just turn left at Albuquerque, right at the clump of trees, right again at the 3rd pub with the ricketty fence, then follow that for 18 lamp posts.
  3. I'm keen as mustard, as long as it isnt july 12th.. or whenever the winton fun day is!
  4. BM's arent too bad to work on actually. work on chryslers and holdens and see how ya like eurotrash :hmm: (sorry leigh)
  5. hell yeah, thats hot.. please tell me someone makes replica's of those rims! i just gave a quick glance for the moment at the article.. but the engine doesnt look like a 2tg from the pictures.. looks more 3sgish?
  6. they must have been giving you the blow off treatment. i used to work round the corner on peel st (chrysler) and used to go in and ask bout various ke25 bits.. they always had a price for me.. although HUGELY expensive. i got quoted $215 for an idler arm for the ke25 from them.. got a 555 idler (one of the best suspension brands period!) from bursons for like $40 or so
  7. that '58 interior is devine! i love it. you guys do some farkin awesome lookin work mate.. good stuff. i expect no less for the ap5 now :)
  8. would be a costly mistak if the driver borked it off the hill!
  9. +1 there is the possibility the person selling it doesnt know what it is.. but highly doubtful. can't remember what the engine designation is for the 16v version. still don't think it would make a good race engine in a ke70 as a 4ag/3sg, but thats just my oppinion. definately post some pics!! I'm rather curious now
  10. in nearly oil cases, the low mark, to the high mark on the engine oil dipstick is 1L. if its off the dipstick it doesnt mean your completely out of oil. if you were out of oil you would DEFINATELY know bout it! you will see a bit of oil down the rocker cover don't worry too much about that. just make sure its at the full mark on the dipstick. like others have said, check the dipstick before filling with oil. fill it carefully!! don't just tip the whole bottle in, try and get it close to full as possible. then start the engine and run for a little while. remember a hot engine will have thinner oil, and hence oil will drain back to the sump quicker and wil give you a more accurate, easier to read dipstick, quicker.
  11. wouldnt happen to be harry larter's engine by any chance would it.. a bloke at the BCC offered me an 18rg years ago saying exactly the same thing.. i think it was harry. maybe john hardiman? anyways, they arent worth anywhere NEAR 3k.. hell you can pick up a 4age blacktop front cut for much less than that!! with the 18rg, you'd need to search for a box anyways, although i admit they are easy to find in old rona's and celicas and hilux's etc.. however, they are fairly unreliuable in the timing chain area.. they take a fiar bit of fiddling to make power, and will weigh down the front end something shocking. you will have to do all that work making mounts etc for 30hpish over the old K banger!! as opposed to the 4age's.. they keep the front end pretty light, REV forever, piece of pie to install, come in heaps of different combo's to cater for whatever class/restrictions you wanna do, aftermarket parts are everywhere for them, and they are reliable as a diesel.. with the gearbox, i guess its just a case of searchin the wreckers, or buy an old shitter complete and strip it.. try carpart recyclers.. they let ya go out the back and have a look around.. might find one out there as the cars are still fairly complete. ill keep an eye out for ya. don't be afraid to use a T40, it looks as though your only racing it at the moment, so 5th is only wasted weight. when was the last time ya used 4th and 5th at bagshot?? oh btw.. don't be afraid to come and say hi at bagshot.. dunno when I'm out next but should be soon. AE70 - what mods did your mates 18rg have to make 110rwhp.. dyno sheets?
  12. hey corey, this is for the red machine is it not? for $800 you can almost do a 4age conversion if your handy with wiring, and would be piss easy to mount up coz of all the AE71 gear.. a 4age will shit all over an 18rg from a great height. they are bit of a pooh engine unfortunately
  13. whats your intentions for the car? gonna tootle round town? is it gonna end up a firebreathing monster? racing? how much you got to spend?
  14. if you reckon a corolla with holden v6 in it handles ok, you've never driven a corolla that handles!
  15. I'm not that fussed with calder to tell ya the truth. $65 gorillas, for 1 minute of racing if your lucky, its full of swedes, and the officials are very unforgiving to the newbies (because of the swede factor), and drag racing just isnt that challenging. the open piped big blocks are a bit heavy on the ears, but ill put up with that cos the cars are pretty awesome. id go on a cruise to calder, but wouldnt enter a car again.. but thats just me :) heathcote park or a winton fun day on the other hand.. to put it into comparison, an autocross/khanacross/motorkhana, is roughly $35 to enter, you can do it with a street car, with minor additions, and you will get roughly 12x the action.. and ashpalt motorkhanas aside, are alot less stressful on your drivetrain.. they also teach you more about your car and yourself than you will ever safely learn on the track.. did i mention its a little more stimulating/challenging than a drag race.
  16. me vs tate
  17. twas a good night. should organise a cruise to heathcote park sometime.. only problem is it would be a long drive if people bust their cars there  luke left his pump in my car too. someone left a black screwdriver in the back also..
  18. they can, which is what i did, but it ended up about 4 inches higher than stock!!
  19. damn family! he just doesnt wanna loose face coz the wags wont crack a 20  jk! I'm goin, cyas soon
  20. titanium caps would be nice.. so ya can still kick the shit out of tailgaters
  21. not only are the springs different but where the bottom of the strut bolts onto the hub is different also.. i found out the hard way :P
  22. borg warner 78's are good strong diffs once built up, and theres heaps of different stud pattern and brake options available, but i still wouldnt go for one simply because of the bullshit LSD's in them. i believe kaaz make lsd's for them now, although they would be mega pricey. don't go a locker for a street car, if the cops catch ya they'll make ya bend over what ever diff you get, it will need to be shortened.. i reckon a toyota 'F' or 'G' series would be the go, or a nissan H190.
  23. cmon stu.. ya got 4 days left.. you should be able to rebuild a master cylinder standing on your head in 4 days of smoko's.. its only a few seals ive got breanna ready to go.. just needs a wash and a tyre change, so ill be there with bells on, by the sound of it its only gonna be me :P
  24. ok it looks like we'd better initiate plan B! the heater hose from carby through firewall gaffataped to aerostart trick strip of all interior weld bicycle wheels to front hubs drop exhaust remove all hanging panels etc etc we'll get that whale into the 17's yet :P
