I think most of the problem lies with Shannon's insurance. They give people an agreed value really high and the owner seems to think that's what it's worth.

100,000kms on low boost(15psi). The secret is to NOT use Toyota or cheap wing Wong head gasket or bolts. No different to those tractor sounding nessan CA's. Arp studs and MLS gasket all you need for trouble free boosting!!

I'd buy a new Bosch gt40 coil that does not run the ballast resistor. They aren't expensive and what are designed to run on an electronic dizzy.
I've made 100rwkw out of my supercharged 5k with a Bosch electronic dizzy and a gt40 coil. Never had an issue.
