  1. if its the 10 bolt that was advertised late lsat week then its actaully from an old holden ie HQ - HZ. there are lsd and open centres available in every ratio if you wanted to change it.
  2. i second rolla boys motion. i'm always looking for a spray painter friend lol
  3. what drives me up the wall is certain people of certain ethnicities that still don't speak understandable english even after living in the country for two decades. whats even worse is when you try to serve them in noisy nightclubs and they get the shits because you can't understand them (becuase its obviously your inadeqaute grasp of the english langauge causing the problem).... if only my boss would let me abuse/punch on with customers i'd be alot less stressed lol.
  4. yeah i thought as much. i will just have to wait intill after i have sorted out my diff situation and then look into the whiteline option.
  5. Hi just wondering if anyone knows if the ke20 ever came with a rear sway bar?
  6. hey i just bought the kmac strut tops. they were 390 and are pillow ball, fully rebuildable and allows caster adjustment and massive camber adjustment.
  7. i use the site regularly don't post much don't have anything intelligent to say normally lol. rollaclub is a good time waster when at work lol. pm me and i'll send you some contact details.
  8. i agree lindz deserves some applause. i started this thread by asking where i could get a strut brace from and the next thing he has hijacked the thread and organised a group buy lol well done.
  9. looking fordward to getting my hands on this little baby. going to be sweet
  10. allright after a bit of looking around i've concluded i am going to have to bite the bullet and purchase a custom radiator. what i was interested in was what size cores people where running. i was probably going to go all out and get a pwr core. was thinking of getting a 81mm dimpled core. would this be too big? or would i just need a 55mm. also does anyone know what fin pitch they are running. my plan was to do up a precise drawing of my curent 20 radiator and get the custom one made up the same just a hell of alot wider.
  11. my advice would be to think long and hard before getting any ink. also make sure you get something that has at least some meaning to you otherwise you are just purchasing a fashion accessory. i had the idea of mine for about 12 months before i got it done. got my grandfather to translate it into welsh for something different. it reads " we do not stop playing because we grow old" "we grow old because we stop playing"
  12. like all motors the ca isnt indestructable. i'm running one in my ke20 and havent had any drama's. all depends how you treat it ie: what fuel you run how regularly service it, what oil you use, boost etc. the standard turbo isnt that great and is pretty old these days. they will fail once they are wound past 12psi. this generaly results in major engine failure as the wheel delaminates from the shaft rubs on the housing and your motor ingests ceramic.... yum. i have heard that some have head gasket problems. i personally havent had issues and neither has my friends s13. ca's get a bad rap but the sr is just as shit they have valvetrain issue plus all the dramas associated with ageing turbo motors. a good friend of mine worked at intune automotive fyshwic act. he had no time for sr20's as they were always in there getting rebuilt. hence why he installed the ca into my now current ride. sure the sr can makes more power standard and when built up but the intial cost is also more. the sr probably gets blown out of proportion with all the hype. people compare ca's and sr's side bye side whch is unfair. save a couple of grand get a ca be nice to it and don't wind up the boost past 12 without upgrading compressors and you will have a pretty quick fat reliable boostin hilux. my 2 cents worth lol
  13. i'm running the hoppers stoppers AUIII pbr twin piston 285mm rotor kit on my ke20b. only needs a 1inch master cylinder which they supplied to suit. fairly massive brakes no strut change came with all the gear ie hubs brackets so on. brakes are one thing you should never skimp on. i'd prefer my last thoughts not to be "i wish i had gone twin pistons" lol. spend he money you'll never regret it.
  14. hey was just wondering what brake master cylinders i could upgrade mine to. i'm part of the way through installing the hoppers stoppers 285mm twin piston brake kit. when i ordered the kit they reccomended that i use a 1inch bore master to obtain correct pedal feel. so i purchased said universal 1 inch bore master. only problem is my ca18det doesnt appear to have left much room and i am doubtfull it will fit. i would like to avoid remaking my mounts and lowering and moving the motor just to fit this master. it is a slightly bulky item so i was just curious if it doesnt fit what other masters people are running? what bore sizes they are and if they had to make any modifications to fit them? feedback would be greatly appreciated.
  15. lindsay is correct. my ke20 has a set of simmons which came off of an rx4. the mazda's ran 4x110 untill the series 3 rx7. apart from the commercial vehicles the rest were the same.
  16. hi just wondering what experience people had with upgrading there radiators in ke20's. my car is powered by a CA18DET and i don't really know if the stock unit is going to be good enough. was intending to give the car a bit of a hard time when it gets on the road in a few months so i would like something that could keep up. does anybody know of easy alterrnatives ie, oem units from other manufactureres that may fit with minor modifications. i would like to avoid paying $800 to $1000 for a custom aluminium one. any info would be appreciated.
  17. i'm definatly in the extra postage doesnt worry me. i'll get out in the shed and mesure up my 20 tonight.
  18. pm me in the middle of november i might just be finishing the 20. pulling the front end apart know and doing all bushes springs shocks and such just have to fit hoppers stoppers brake kit & master cylinder then its off to m&a for the diff. maybe just maybe i'll make it.
  19. also did you have alook at those tension control rods they have. i'm not quite sure what they are?? there a serious peice of gear. my thoughts is that it is tie rod?? also the roll centre adjusters they have look pretty sweet would there be any merit in gettin a set??
  20. awesome they look sweet as i would definatly be interested in participating in a group buy.
  21. hi just wondering if anyone knows where or whom i can buy a front strut brace for a ke20. i'm rebuilding the front end with new springs, shocks, nolathane bushes, ball joints, tie rod ends, adjustable strut tops and a strut brace would be a nice addition. i have searched the net and couldnt seem to find anything so any info would be appreciated cheers.
  22. Hey dud sweet ride. I recently bought the hoppers stoppers kit for my ke20 which is powered by a CA18DET. The kit is a sweet piece of gear very proffessional and well engineered from the right material. i'm a machinist and i know the the time and effort that they must have gone to do design thte kit. all brackets are laser cut and the hubs have been done on a CNC lathe so they should be well within tolerance. . i'm rebuilding the front suspension atm and have dummy fitted one side. seems to fit nicely. as far as braking power goes 285 slotted vented discs with twin piston calipers..... what more do you need on 900kg car. on the downside you do need 15inch rims. keep up the good work.
  23. i agree with anastasios i have a ke20 coupe with a ca18det coupe. i live in the ACT and have spoken at length with an engineer and once i have bigger front brakes and the disc rear apart from all the fiddly emmissions stuff it will be easy to engineer.
  24. ditto rollaboy. if it didnt come out with power windows its going to be a pain in the ass. youre going to have to install electric motors, figure out mounts for the motors, sort out exactly how the motor will move the window up and down the track. sounds like a definate pain.
  25. the ke20 has ca18det in the engine bay. she gets taken to the hill climb pretty regularly and given that i am less than an hour from wakefeild i was intending to get her on the track . i also want to get it engineered for the street so a serious braking package is in order. cost is a factor but brakes is one thing that i don't intend to skimp. with engineering i think it would be a bit easier if the car still has the standard struts and steering arms. looking around and considering all options.
