  1. my 69 wagon has none, I don't know the month until I check it tonight. I would suggest that Ken's were either a dealer option or fitted later down the track.
  2. pretty sure i saw him at a swapmeet yesterday so it would appear he's alive.
  3. Out of the 5 daily drivers I've owned 3 have done starters. One was a 9 year old hilux. And Yeh comfort is overrated. Got a ke20 steering box off mick so just having accurate steering will market so much better to drive!
  4. It's nights like this when I wish I had a modern, comfy, starts-every-time daily drive. And then I remember that new cars break too.... and if I had a modern car I almost certainly wouldn't have 3 spare starters, 3 alternators, 4 heads and more just kicking around the shed! Starter died tonight.

    Spotted

Haha. My mum will laugh, she always said she'd hear me (talking) before she saw me.... Spotted the sakwags the other day as scott passed me on lonny highway. Cold damn morning that, must have been 3 weeks ago??? Who's driving the slammed red KE70 with the visor? Pass all the time on blacks road in the morning but he finally spotted me on tuesday night coming out of perry barr road in Hallets and gave me a toot toot.
  6. nice, Interesting that I've never seen one in the flesh, even one for sale for that matter until that Blue one popped up here a few days ago. And I've been keen on old rolla wagons for about 12 years!! So is it a legit Granny score, off some old man who's had it since new?
  7. Because their labour market sucks, their minumum wage in some states is less than 5 bucks and their unemployment is climbing as their manufacturing industry gasps its last breath. In other words, they're struggling to find work so they'll make bits cheeep like the budgie.
  8. philbo baggins, gold. 20w50 as well if that 25w60 works then I'll hook it up too! need to fix my damn sump gasket too...
  9. yeh I was wondering what dropping the body lower over the chassis rails had to do with this lol.
  10. 4k/5k is the same. 3k has different stud patterns. 7K's are wider.
  11. Hiro you can't piss on Solidworks then offer up shitty old Pro E as a better alternative LOL. Last time I used ProE they hadn't updated the interface since they invented it! I spent 7 years using Unigraphics and was a staunch advocate until I started using SW. Was using SW2010 last night and the detail changes since SW2007 are awesome. SW still needs work with its assemblies though, UG was always pretty robust in that department. Worst I ever used was Ideas. Terrible.
  12. ALL SHIT. Solidworks baby. Here's to Dassault World Domination!! Autocad easy, turbo cad easy they're all just 2D drawing packages. Mechanical Desktop and Inventor are overkill for basic 2-Dimensional images. If you want to do lasercutting profiles for any items you want to get folded, then a 3D package makes it much, much easier.
  13. I spent 1300 on my 5K for all parts, balancing, seals, acid dipping, boring, head rebuild. I put the whole engine back together myself, I wouldn't expect much change from 2 grand if you pay someone to rebuild the whole motor.
  14. Ke10 not 20 but in mine Luke, the two black (with White stripe) wires were the kill for the ignition circuit (P or N to start), I simply connected these two with a little jumper, no problem. Lets not talk about all the time I spent chasing wires looking for a short LOL.... I would have thought yours was the same, with the other two wires being a) lighting illumination and b) reverse switch, both with a connection to ground.
  15. I'm running the pump off my 3K on my 5K and that's feeding the Dellorto's with no problem.
  16. Scott, my hydro 5K is also noisy, and I'm buggered if I've ever managed to pin it down, it sounds like tappets to me but I've never looked too hard into it. Anything you find out, let me know~!
  17. CC the piston, my O dish piston (Mahle aftermarket 40 thou over) are about 8cc. From the look of it AE70, those you have look like even less dish again. Factory D dish pistons are abou 22cc. GJM yours look like new pistons, are they Toyota items or aftermarket?
  18. 45 bucks a year only applies under 27/28 or so. It's about 150 otherwise. Also, not that I've used but you get access to a pretty cool library of info too. "Our collection of motorsport and motoring information in our magnificent Eric Rainsford Library, is one of the largest in the southern hemisphere. The Library offers Club Members workshop manuals, spare parts lists, current motoring journals and motoring books in addition to videos. Over 7000 volumes including workshop manuals, spare parts lists, motoring journals and books are mostly available for Members to borrow and research is available to non-Members."
  19. do my eyes deceive me? Is that Jesus, the messiah returning to earth momentarily to prophesise our doom. Has this amateur photographer inadvertently captured a picture of him ? oh look he's hiding behind a ca18et.
  20. Agreed, I just love the scathing calls... Gold.
  21. man, you crack me up with this stuff trev.
  22. Cool. Anyone see that Grosser 600 on top gear, what a rocket. This beast would be a suitably available alternative though!
  23. The ke20 strut change still requires you to get some custom coil springs made. Or you could fit some coilovers, weld on kit.
  24. Waste of time. air con or no aircon, the Ke70 engine bay has ample room and easy access for everything you need. BUT if you do want to make a bunch of work for yourself for no benefit, yeh sure take it out. Wouldn't be too hard, if you want to be environmentally responsible, get a professional to extract the refrigerant and then just unbolt it all.
  25. Shitty fuel.... shitty tune more like it, you can't blame the fuel if it's been tuned too lean LOL that's like blaming the gun, not the shooter.
