  1. Yes and Yes. C is for the Emissions that some later model 4K's had, but basically the same engine.
  2. All of the K series engines will fit K 2K 3K 4K 5K and 7K. The 7K is the biggest and most modern. That's about the limit of it. You can fit other gearboxes to K engines though, as there are some adaptor bellhousings that allow you to do this (so you can upgrade the Box to the tougher T or K series boxes)
  3. I used to have a 2WD hilux and while it was a great car, there's a reason I don't have it any more. I haven't excluded that option altogether but I'm just not convinced. More likely I'll get a Rodeo diesel 4WD if I do go Jap, dad has had his rodeo for 10 years and it's been infallible. Hiluxs are good but 90% of the ones for sale are economy pack interior. The falcon definitely trumps it there nice comfy interior.
  4. Deliberate double post, I had a browser window open from last night and didn't see the later responses! I haven't seen any Manuals in my area for sale, even some of the interstate ones that I looked at (for reference) were auto's as well. That's within a price range too. And yeh, I'm not after a turbo. And I'm not going to do anything but drive it. Cheers for all the feedback guys.
  5. Yeh I'm actually looking at XR6's. On gas, that's the only reason I started looking at them was because of the full LPG Cheers for that guys some awesome feedback here. Blilndspots don't phase me I'm used to bad ones on cars. Dunno what I'll do yet. Probably get a garage built first so I can get the wagon out of the rain. It takes me a long time to make decisions for big purchases so I'm starting the research now.
  6. So my old man's on his 5th falcon, I'm no stranger to them. But I've been planning on buying a commUTEer for a while so I can give the ke16 some TLC. Originally a jap built diesel was the plan (Rodeo most likely) but the idea of a Falcon dedicated LPG ute came up. And the XR6 is a nice looking car at least, and should be cheap to run. But I swore I'd never own a Falcon. I hate them. so does anyone have some good objective feedback on BA Mark II falcons, particularly utes. Problems, issues, what to expect etc?? Worked on many, driven one into the ground, all that sort of stuff? I might hate them but not based on much fact. I just hate them. Let me know your thoughts.
  7. this thing is sick. Really good job on the manifold. Just my two cents but how well have you braced it? with the belt tension as well as the extra weight of the blower on that manifold a simple brace down would be worthwhile!
  8. used to get a ride to school in my mates one of these. Black. Death trap, I know why my folks were a little funny about it at the time...
  9. in keeping with the theme trev we should name you Von Ditto.
  10. damn Aus Post. Got a wicked collector book in the post for my Bday (first week of May) and when it arrived from the US she was bent. Nasty crease in the cover. Put a damage claim in with Aus post. 3 months later they tell me they wont reimburse. Fine, that's fine, where's my damn book? Oh? You don't have it.... So you don't reimburse, nor do you give me my book back... Oh I see that's reasonable, how an earth did I misunderstand such a logical system. I've actually had nothing but praise for Aus post, it's unfortunate this one time they've buggered up that it's turned into such an ordeal.
  11. ahh genius. Trev I've read a bunch of threads this morning with you quoting people and it's funny shit. I vote we dub thee "master of paraphrase"
  12. Do you want a lock diff without having it welded? The alternative to welding is to use a minispool and I'm pretty sure nobody has bothered to make one up for spindly little corolla diffs.
  13. holy shit that's the funniest thing I've come across all day!
  14. fifteen seconds.
  15. 650mad, honestly I don't know how I'm going to go with rego. At the end of the day I'll find some engineer to do some calcs for me, and I also used a coded welder to do the chassis mods. TE278U that's a mean looking rig although I'm not a big fan of being an individual and running flat black!
  16. Interestingly enough, the DTEI has very little to say about modifications on club registered cars. "has not been modified from its original design except as allowed in the code of practice;" HERE As far as a Code of Practice goes, they just send you to the DTEI website and the usual list of allowable modifications (lowering, suspension, etc). LHD vehicles are more stringent because there is a specific document detailing strict rules on modifying left hand drives. It appears that SMASA are applying their own conditions over the top of the DTEI rules.... Interesting.
  17. My 911 is with the Sporting Car Club SA. They don't really mind what cars people have, it's a huge club too. The 911 is stock but he wasn't that fussed about mods. Things like Wheels and Exhausts they don't really care about. As for photographing it and checking each year, absolutely none of that bullshit either. membership is around 45 bucks per year if you're under 28. More if your older.
  18. I jsut though he was showing CACTUS quality... Wicked cactus by the way. Damn though Matt, I haven't read this build thread since page 16 but I dig it...
  19. awesomest post ever.
  20. it's a god damn pulsar I don't care what price and how well serviced, I would choose cancer instead.
  21. Depending who the car goes to I might let the carb stay on there. I want it back eventually though so I can get my rego transferred. Might be tricky with the dell's on it...
  22. I've got a Traxxas nitro sport, goes alright but everytime I drive it I smash something. I hit a big jump a while ago in my yard, throttle stuck on, she took off, launched off the kerb, cleared the neighbours fence and hit his roof gutter..... Gold. I only play with it when I can be bothered buying and fixing whatever broke off. I think I'll get one of the HPI Firestorms, sick looking truck. I love stadium trucks. 2WD rules.
  23. Put a price on it please. EOI not allowed.
  24. LOL. That monteiths is good gear, just finished a carton myself.
  25. Agree about corona. I drink it and enjoy it when proffered up to me but I've never wasted my own money on it. And anything that needs a lemon for taste obviously lacks flavour. Tell me more about this single batch though? I've not seen it anywhere, I always keep my eyes peeled for new offerings from LC! Mildura storm is the shit and my mate just rewarded me with a slab of Grand Ridge Yarra Valley Gold. Killer. Evan you seem to be just as big a dickhead on the road as the people you piss and moan about all the time. Shut up and drive sensibly.
