Sydney spec eh. IMO 17s on a KE is such disgusting vomit inducing look. Fail Fail Fail. Check KPROLNs' cars out. He generally does em up with 17s then sells em to people who like that look. Id go to 16s if I went for bigger brakes. If you have 17s on a KE70 and arent running 320mm rotors, whats the point. If you increase the rolling diameter the car gets slower instantly. Not to mention they will scrub if you go low and you will not be able to use rims with a decent offset. Most 17s are designed for FWD cars so the offset is all wrong, and you must use big spacers (as it looks like you have). There is no performance gain from the bigger rolling diameter on an e7 chassis, unless your pushing 200+rwkw and are trying to get that to the ground, and have the car be smoother and more high speed capable. It seems to be a Sydney thing.

Thanks alot people! 3 comments, its my lucky night. Terry does some very very good work. Hes the man for widening, refinishing, and polishing things. I hope its faster than before, my changes have mainly been designed to create a bit more midrange torque. Now 4-2-1s instead of 4-1s. Also got smaller throttles (port speed) and shorter trumpets as a slight compromise to hopefully retain much of the top end revviness I had before. Anyhow, ill be off for a tune soon, Ill be sure to post the sheet. Then ill be after a time sheet too. :laff:

I got another one for your dad in a few weeks. Ive successfully used the most out of this car than any other car. The 4k is even in spilmers car and going good.

Hi guys. I'm sure we are all familiar with the idea of a parts car. Some may call them donor cars, parts whores etc. They are an essential tool in building other better cars, and are essential to every restoration. I was looking through some older photos and thought why not start a thread to remember them by. Ill begin. The only rule is that they must be as stripped and flogged looking as possible, as close to the end as possible.

Booked in at 8am, Moss St Slacks Creek. Right Price Exhausts. Going for a metal cat, 2 inch pipe over diff, single resonator, and just a regular muffler. Should sound a touch quieter than before. Its super stealthy now. A bit too quiet with a stock ae71 rear section. Then its off to Robbie Novak for another tune. :dance:

Bit of a shame the diff is out of the car, its much easier to do with the weight of the car securing the diff. Last time I did this I used a big steel pole that weighed 20kgs and a length of chain on 2 opposite wheel studs. Works good. A dif thats never been popped in 20 years would be a paint to do. Just stick at it, wedge the diff into something solid and yank like f@$k. :dance:

Silver centres look good on those and its still original paint. Might have to do them the same after the southernways, although I'm not sure if the centre will come out of them...

Firstly, the new colour for the centres of the southernways (perfect terry, thats exactly what i wanted). And the freshly polished radiator shroud. Again Terry it looks awesome, Ill give you a few bucks when I see you next. You really must call before coming over if you want to catch me, I can get quite busy sometimes. I have now fitted the new radiator, and its awesome. It sat in max1/3 of the temp gauge even in traffic and the thermofan drops it quick.

Have a look in my gallery, there is a side on photo of my red car before I molested it all. Stickers were a bit faded. I'm sure you know that spirits came only in red/white/blue and had different decals for each colourway. What colour are you interested in? You can but them from overseas through our for sale section. 600 us plus post from memory. The person selling them is called Richard Opiana, username is drahcirdestiny. You can't buy them in Australia for less than that, unless like phil you have a mate that bought some and decided not to use them.

Sounds about right. Flog it and you waste 300 dollar tyres and get 350. I did notice fuel economy wasnt much different if you carry a big load.

Those XL bodies are super heavy eh. By the way they are super thirst with the stock 4.9:1 diffs.

I have an 06 Triton v6, which I bought new. Yes its a 4x2 on a 4wd chassis. There was no 3.5 litre option for any model year up to and including 06. Afaik the Tritons were only ever 3.0 litre until the start of the new shape in 07. Then they went to 3.5. The 3.0 and then the 3.5 that superseded it are both previous generation Pajero motors. The one you were driving, Trev, may well have had a transplant from a Pajero or a later Triton if it was indeed 3.5 litres. By the way the Kerb weight of my Triton is around 1750kg with fuel and tray. I dunno where you get 2200kg from. Maybe the 4wd version is that heavy. My 4x2 certainly isnt. Power output was around 250NM and 133KW flywheel.

I always thought the word Corolla meant "Crown of a flower" (IE the petals). Hence the little logo with the 3 petals on it above the C. EDIT according to allwords.com: Corolla: (botany) the outermost-but-one whorl of a flower, when this is not the same in appearance as the outermost whorl (the calyx). This is either a collective term for the petals of a flower or a term to indicate the fused whole of this whorl.

Its been done recently and in Brisbane. It was done by sam from razorback (formerly). The car was for sale a while back. It may have been sc and turbo but I can't remember. His username was "fox" or something. You could probably find it by searching the members and then his topics. From all accounts it went awesome.

Buy a car that has been a twincam 4age car its whole life. They frequently have better brakes installed, as well as a better gearbox and driveshafts. AE92 or 93 looks better than ae82 in my opinion. In the ae92 line you would be looking for an SX as they are all twincam, but all twincams are not created equal. The SX has the 4age std and the better bits. They are a little heavier than you might think. Around 1100kgs from memory. Most people if they want to drive real hard and have a little fun behind the wheel do up an older one like a ke70 or ae71 as they are rwd and you can still stuff a 4age in there with standard Toyota parts.
