RA40 celica goes in pretty easy, good for a taller pilot as they sit lower.

Just washed my old red ones. They didnt get much use, they were replaced a few months before I pranged the old car.

I got some stacks stuck in there, thats all I need. I just drove it, goes awesome. Sounds fkn wierd with no exhaust note but its not as choked up feeling as I had thought it would be. Brakes need a bleed. On the weekend I will drain the water and replace it with a proper coolant/demin water brew with the new radiator. that is once I have inspected the sensors for any further leaks. I just tossed the old Idle controller in how it was before to keep it the same as before and it idles pretty good. I don't like the way the throttle linkages feel on the silvertop type throttles, so I might just go ahead and adapt the blacktop linkage on there. The new clutch feels awesome.

Here it is today. Going to get the new radiator this arvo. There was an issue with the old one but now rectified.

Thanks alot Kim. I'm getting there slowly now. Ive been getting around and organising a few things. I got some velocity stacks in the mail today from JNT Performance. I must say, they ship really fast. I only ordered online yesterday. I now have velocity stacks which will tuck into my throttles and then be glued in there with sealant. They kind of just interference fit in there, but the sealant will hold em there and stop em shaking out. This means Ill be able to go for a drive and see if everything works.

Ive put the gaurds on and all the rest of the front end minus bonnet and bumpers. Looks good I think. The wheel fitment is about right for stock gaurds. :blush:

Sam the plates fine I think, its just the only leaks I have found and as such has been reported. If its really an issue I will see tomorrow. Should be fine. Id like to do it as fast as you say terry, but I need money and parts. A set of velocity stacks would be terriffic for a start.

Hmmm. I like Audis, not sure I would pay for one. The corolla runs. Its a work of over muffled art. Took a few cranks before it fired but its running fine and no fuel leaks. Both senders in Sam Qs plate are leaking. I will attempt to tighten them tomorrow. Just need to put the lights and panels on it and fit the bumpers. Then it can be driven. hahaha. I need a real exhaust now and some silvertop velocity stacks.

You can go get an exhaust and tune and beat me to it. We kicked it over tonight. The starter cranked it no worries, with a little work. Haha. Its wired now, we just need to add an air temp sensor (which funnily enough niz is in your car, haha). :P Heres a photo. Tomorrow it gets dressed up, and taped together, panels and lights, dash back together and in with ecu and hopefullty it will fugging start and drive. Might run a bit odd, until the exhaust is fixed. Might be good, you never know... hahah.

Ok I have a new set of radiator hoses. One is from an 84 onwards charade the other is from a magna i think. Ive dropped off the radiator to have beefier inlets and outlets braised in, which should make it easier to work on. Will be right to grab it tomorrow morning. Its been one year since I wrote the last car off. Its about time I got this one on the road. Sourced some more vaccuum hose for the map sensor, and some bungs to delete unwanted vaccuum connections. I got the alternator plug from a 1nzfe yaris at the wreckers. Thats the same plug to suit a blacktop 4age alternator. Brads gonna be here soon and we will pull a late one and try and get it started. We just need to do a starter relay and fit the alternator plug, then its ready to go. We are usung circuit breakers instead of fuses with an 8 second timeout. So if something cuts out we wait 8 seconds and its automatically reconnected. No swapping fuses. I might try and get someone to make me a hose adapter to fit in a heater connection before I put the cooling system together, so that when the time comes to connect the heater I can just connect straight on without dumping the coolant. Ive already got one of the 2 connections I need on the sam q plate. I will need a modified heater core to finish the job, but thats not hard to arrange. No harder than fixing the radiator.

OK so now its more or less wired, were just future proofing it a bit by adding a plug to connect a speed sensor to, and a few other little accessories. We also need to add a wire to control the purge solenoid. Otherwise, Brad has done a great job of utilising the factory relay positions in the relay box that came in the car. We have one external relay in the cabin for the fuel pump near the glovebox. The fan and efi relays are in the relay box and the wires routed with the other Toyota wiring under the gaurds. Its all been done with new wires and pins so no solder in what weve done. Its how an auto electrician would do it I think. So now just need an alternator plug, and a couple of adaptronic wires and pins and its all gonna be working like a dream. I did have one annoying thing happen, I was doing up the hose clamp on the bottom of my radiator and for some reason the outlet collapsed. It didnt even feel tight yet and it just collapsed. So Il pull that out and have Dennis at WSRS braise a new one in. Motherf@$ker. I think ill get new radiator hoses too while I'm at it.

Just let it die, mate. We gave it a shot and it was proven people start bragging about illegal stuff. The discussion does not end at 100klm/hr. There is a section for 1/4 mile times, thats a far superior way to asses speed, so make do with that. Its also off the road so you can go as fast as you want. I think you will find that if a police officer sees you shifting on the limiter for max acceleration even below 100, he would give you a ticket anyhow. Its a no win for us. If you want rollaclub to remain unmolested by the authorities, just let it go.

The problem with that would be it will spawn an even bigger discussion about illegal stuff.

Hey guys. Nothing to report. Just working hard on earning money so I can finish it off right. I'm wondering how it will handle with a stock swaybar in the front. Have to see how it goes when its driveable. All I really have to do is the following: Fresh fuel in the tank. Have loom fitted. Pour in some gearbox oil. Fresh oil in the motor and a new filter. Put the dash back together. Drive to the exhaust shop to have it sorted. Buy some trumpets. Get it tuned again by Rob Novak. I think Ill try to get beerhead back next weekend to have a good go at getting it running. Terry those wheels will look hot. I still kind of want to have the centres anodized, but I'm not too sure what colour. Maybe just get them lightly blasted then Ill have them clear anodized to keep em nice and shiny silver. I can't get past something mettallic for them. Silver bolts will tidy up the look of them too.

Its good to sandblast less cosmetic areas, but for panels you will need to spray with a gentler medium. I bought a sandbalster to do my car. I think the exercise cost me $350 with accessories, sand, and soda. That includes buying a sandblaster. You will not have any change from a grand I think if you pay a shop to do a whole car.

Thanks Tim, I'm so stoked with the fan shroud its not funny. Moves a real lot of air too. I now have another set of body looms and hopefully its gonna be running by the end of the week.

Dad just changed the original engine out of his Landcruiser Ute 2 years ago for a new crate motor. When it came out it was 930000 klms. I'm not joking. In that time the mighty 1HZ saw 2 gearboxes and a diff reco. The engine outlived 2 instrument clusters. It may well be the best cared for example of this model you will find, despite the klms. It wasnt using much oil, just lost a lot of power. Oh, forgot to mention, it was always lugging at least big steel tray with extra spare wheels, and all of the electricians tools dad needs. Maybe 1/3 of the time it was towing a big, heavy duty double sprung single axle trailer and travelling on the roughest roads in QLD. Oh what a feeling...

Chill out, Evan. We appreciate all Toyotas. Well, most. Ive not seen chrome bumpers for this shape, and personally, I don't know how good it would look.
