I'll state from the outset that I was once hired, as a professional driver, by a manufacturer, to display stability control of a new model to all the sales people. This was done in a huge area, in controlled manner.
Having worked closely on other projects with the sales reps, I can also tell you that contrary to what they believe, their skill levels are not in any way shape or form higher (and in many cases lower) than Joe Public's.
Which now begs the question. What in the name of all that is holy did this tool think they were doing? That is not something to be "shown" to a customer in a test drive. Did the DP go down to the local markets and find the largest pineapple he could, come back and insert it? Shortly followed by a letter stating to never darken the doorstep again?
Seriously, that could be classed as negligent driving.
