  1. 1- buy aftermarket temp sender and gauge. 2- install sender and hook gauge up 3- don't mount gauge (if worried about ruining ke70 interior) 4- go for drive, make note of where the stock gauge is when aftermarket one reaches 60/70/80/90/100 degrees) 5- if car is actually overheating, take to mechanic and have him fix. 6- if satisfied car isn't overheating, remove all aftermarket stuff 7- ...... 8- PROFIT cheers dF
  2. there's two choices for you to choose from: 1/ wait for someone to sell their custom made mounts 2/ make your own custom mounts crossbred mounts aren't normally mass produced. cheers dF
  3. GOR Cruise it's only a few posts below this in the sticky section!
  4. hoping everyone managed to survive the silly season and keep some funds for this outing! certainly helps that petrol has dropped in price, now it'll cost us 15% less of SFA to run our rolla's. for nobbler, it'll mean the tanker he bought just lost 15% of its goods' value :P dF
  5. haha....this is so weird. i'm at work, feels like a monday after day off, but it's drinks friday, with about 20% of the office actually at work today...so i'm left alone at my desk drinking cos all my drinks buddies aren't in today  oh well, i've sorted the missus, she'll be home when i leave work, so she'll have a good hour to organise my dinner :jamie: here's hoping she cooks spag bol as suggested (by me of course!!) i <3 drunk train rides home on friday's!! might be back here later tonite....we'll see what happens after dinner! dF'ers update: she surprised me with taco salad and stella artois!!....with the promise of spag bol tomorrow  let's just hope she's as accommodating when i bail for most of tomorrow
  6. if i don't have a street party lined up, i'll be there!! (hell, even if i have a street party lined up, get 1/2 the vic members there for a pre-GOR campout/piss-up and it'll be a f*cken great way to bring in the new year!!) :jamie:
  7. http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/dow...ns_nov_2007.pdf being a stickler for the rules....yes, it does need engineering as the capacity increase is greater than 15% (taken from the link above) you can go to a 4k (1.3L) without needing to have it engineered. but a 5k is too large to put in legally without engineering. cheers dF
  8. if you're sliding, the fronts won't rotate, so the bottom will never be the top! :) haha
  9. silverra23 is organising a trip out to maffra i believe for mid feb thru the TCCAV, for those of us (everyone except te278u) that didn't make it a few weeks back
  10. and by "away around Aust day", you mean you'll be with the rest of us cruising the GOR???!
  11. 13" mazda 626 steelies with chrome (plastic) trim rings on my ke20.
  12. and by 'perks' you mean 'handfuls' ;) i know the joy!!
  13. if both are manual, the only problem you might encounter will be electrical. alternator plug (2 or 3 pin), distributor (elec or points), reverse lights plug (different shaped plugs). i encountered those three when swapping from a 3k with 4spd to a 5k with 5 spd.
  14. secret.....k50......i might be able to get you a toyoglide, just not too sure on the 'when' :bash:
  15. the current weber i have on my engine was displaying similar problems when first installed. when coming off throttle, it would stay 'stuck' at 1800 rmp. a quick kick of the pedal would get it to drop to somewhere between 800rpm (where the idle was set) and 1200rpm. this was all without a return spring, so i picked one up and it helped a little bit, the idle would return to 1200rpm, but wouldn't drop to 800rpm where it should be. i discovered the shaft that the cable rotates when you press the throttle (which opens the butterflys) is worn, and has a little bit of freeplay in it. i would fix it, but it doesn't affect driveability so i've just left it as is. :bash: disconnect the accel cable from the weber, and play with the mechanism that rotates the botterflys. (that's how i found my problem) dF
  16. i recently put a 3spd auto into what was a 4spd manual ke55. i was able to put the auto box in using the manual crossmember. however, i had to make holes for the gearbox mount to bolt up to the crossmember. i'll have a look tonite to be certain, but fairly sure the corssmember is mounted where it was for the manual.
  17. and here i thought the boxes from the hiace was a w50 with a k bellhousing.
  18. cheers soyboy, i honestly get distracted by his sig :y: since i'm here, have seen the white 25 driving around bacchus a few times since i became aware of it, still yet to stop and have a chat, and still don't know where it lives. also saw a bamboo/babyshit yellow wagon this morning, pulled off the tollway after bolte brigde onto dynon road to head into the cdb. was too far back (around 15 cars) down dynon road to get proper look :)
  19. so you bought a ke17 and stripped it.....tell me it didn't/isn't going to scrap??
  20. ^^^ this man is correct. they changed centre caps also. the early ones have clips that grab onto the centre tunnel, the late ones press on and just "hug" the centre tunnel. i have pics if necessary to show the centre hub difference. dF
  21. does we get preview shots??
  22. sounds like soyboy
  23. if you do end up on skates, i'll drive behind you just in case you come off. i can be the first to run ov.....help you up :D
