  1. i had my ke20 done about 18 months back. went through tint professor (in sunshine). my rear windows are like yours, and they just unscrewed them, pulled them out and did them off the car. $200 is what it cost me. (as i worked at a shopping center, i waited til they setup a booth for a week, and managed to talk the guy down from the $250 "special" they had at the time.)
  2. put me down for a couple this weekend Raven :)
  3. trust me, bring a tent. 2 nights + alcohol + driving = need comfy sleep! if it makes you feel better, katie and i will be nanna for the trip, as we're taking her ke55xx coupe. we'll make sure you're not the slowest.
  4. there's a rear bar on yahoo auctions atm. very cheap to buy, but not sure on how much for shipping. it ends tomorrow night. http://209.85.171.104/translate_c?hl=en&am...audfsdkANL10cKg
  5. ke1x and ke2x corolla's have 4x110 pcd ke3x, ke5x and ke7x have 4x114.3 pcd
  6. everything you'll need dF
  7. while i'm all for pissing these things off (if they do end up being used) i was thinking more along the lines of having someone set up behind the camera and use their horn as someone drives thru. the camera will record them and then issue a fine. if the horn doesn't work, just pull your exhaust off and rev the car so it triggers the camera.
  8. that looks fcuken tops Adam!
  9. well, instead of bastardising a toyota with a rotor, you'll be toyota-fying a mazda...much better me thinks (esp after seeing a cosmo with a 2jz :laff: )
  10. from what i've done over the last 12 months: bought ke30 2dr sedan seats, installed in a ke55 hardtop using the ke30 2dr sedan rails. bought early ke70 seats, wouldn't bolt to the ke30/55 4dr sedan rails. installed into a ke20 using ke20 rails. if your ke55 is a hardtop, then they will bolt straight into the ke35, as the mounts are the same. if your ke55 is a sedan, then they will not bolt in directly to the ke35. cheers dF
  11. i can't think of a more fitting ending, esp for $50  well, maybe an old crown or corona shell for the 1UZ....
  12. very clean car and neat conversion!! i'd consider anything more than 80kW atw in a KE1x/2x to be a sleeper  great pics Chobis
  13. ok, i started with a 3K KE20 with a K40. installed a 5K and KE55 K50. no mods required. using the original tailshaft from the KE20.
  14. And by new, you do mean one that's been freshly serviced... :P
  15. which quiet are you talking about, alarm or exhaust??
  16. i won't be attending tonite, as my ride home to sticksville has pulled a sickie *cough* thenobbler *cough* hopefully catch next months...
  17. have got to ??
  18. just taking this out of context because the rest of what you said was really positive....
  19. the seats are in very good condition, there's one ciggy hole on one of the seats, but otherwise they just need a vacuum to get the crud off them. ke20 rails have the same bolt spacing to mount the rails to the ke70 seats. ke30 rails will not bolt to the ke70 seats. you will need to remove the plastic dust cover from the reclining mechanism, as it interferes with the ke20 slider lever, as mentioned before. the seats make you sit up a bit higher than stock ke20 seats, but as i'm not really tall, i've still got plenty of headroom. if i put the backs upright, i just hit the roof. but who drives bolt upright anyway :P
  20. isn't that the corolla smell, like 'new-car scent' but it's fuel instead of flowers??! HAHA
  21. since it works really well, you have two choices... leave it all there and spray around it... crack one of the lines to the compressor 'accidently' just enough to let the gas escape and disappear for a minute or two while it 'accidently' leakes out. then pull all the lines/cooler/dryer out. the a/c from my ke20 had very little gas in it, took a whole of 6 seconds for it to stop making a hissing sound :P dF
  22. funny you should say that.... i went to raise the headrest on wednesday night while i was driving, and pulled it out by accident, so i just threw it on the floor and haven't put it back yet :P it does look awesome, but yeah, won't be neck-friendly in an acco :P
  23. the trip from the airport is around 25 mins... the airport shuttle bus is $16 each to the city, and that will drop you off at southern cross station. if there's more than 10 of you, i know i'd splash the extra $$ for the 300C limo :P how 'late night' restaurants are we talking?? Hardware Lane with its 30 something restaurants and bars would be the ideal place to go (it runs from Bourke St to Lonsdale St between Queen St and Elizabeth St), otherwise Bank Place (a lane that runs from Collins St to Little Collins St and between William St and Queen St) has 5ish nice places for a good feed. pubs are plentiful...again, Hardware Lane would be the place to go, as their relatively idiot free...i'm sure you've heard the stories of all the night-fights recently. dF
  24. i'm going to be a no-show also, need to save the money for driving holiday to adelaide. i would say to enjoy yourself, but i know that'll happen regardless, it's a top cruising route :P nice choice Bowler. dF
  25. tram or train in the morning would be the best bet. either catch a tram, or just walk up from Dock 5 to Southern Cross (Spencer St Station), and catch a Lilydale Train to Hawthorn. otherwise, the #70 tram (and a few others, which i'll hunt down the numbers for) will take you out to hawthorn. from where you are, if you don't mind walking, it should take you around 40 mins to walk from Dock 5 to Hawthorn. (now that i've actually counted the time, it seems alot longer than first thought, but might be enjoyable at the end of the day) both Bridge Rd or Swan Rd (they run parrallel to each other on the way to Hawthorn) have heaps of boutique stores and cafes, which if i've read other posts correctly, you'll have a ball in  also Toorak Rd and Chapel St aren't far away either! i assume you won't be bringing the 'tivo, so maybe Chapel won't be much use to you, except to laugh at all the vl's. what date's are you in melb for? spring racing carnival is on for plenty of betting and drinking. dF
