there's nothing wrong with a cannon.......well, i can't really way that without laughing, but i might soon be sporting one, so better to play the neutral card for the moment :P and spotted a ke30 2dr in melton on wednesday night, recently been re-rego'd.

just a quick note on sleeping and driving the GOR, may i suggest taking a few hours on sunday to drive from camp, to one end, and back? staying say an hr down from one end, doesn't matter which one it is, would be ideal for both VIC and SA

well....as much fun as it's been, the side pipe doesn't pass "the fuzz inspection" :) RBT earlier tonite, idling just above 1k, having first pull me along the line. breatho goes fine, then another cop asks if i had an exhaust on there, cos he can't see one. i told them (when i finished blowing into the machine, about 4 others came up to check out my car) that i do, and then a third asks if i have a muffler. again, yes i do, i'm running a side pipe. the 2nd one goes, i don't think that's legal. then the sargent comes across, i tell him i a local, and he says the next time he spots me out, i'm gonna be pulled over to make sure my exhaust has been 'fixed'. so i'm gonna do the ring around and find out which places can 'fix' my exhaust for me early next week. don't worry, i will be getting a few vids of it saturday screaming it's head off :yak:

i didn't do the work. i bought the engine from kangaroosa. cam grind thread will help you a bit, lotsa good info in there. i brought the rocket home tonite, after going for a strap around the back roads....and i must say i'm more than pleased with the 4k Lump. needs a proper tune which should be happening in the coming month. lowering blocks will go in tomorrow if i remember to grab my chassis stands and 12" steelies so i can cruise around with the hubbies!

well, i'm turning older again, and as webers was so keen for another meet, i figured you can all come round to my place and enjoy each others company with a few drinks over a ke55 that is in dire need of finishing! Who: All that want an excuse to "drinker and tinker" with other RC members What: Casual drinks/relax/play with car day/evening/night Where: My (partners) house, Bacchus Marsh (not far from thenobblers) When: Saturday or Sunday 19/20th July, 2008. Anytime after 2pm should be OK Why: I'm turning another year older, and i've gotta clear the project from the carport! i'll add some more when i work out more details. sorry for having another weekend way out west, i know those out the SE don't like driving too far, esp when you need to return with some drinks under the belt... cheers dF

everything i've done to the car up until the last 2 weeks i was living my that ethos.... now, since my car is being housed at jarrads place, things like painting and cleaning have happened because he's got some control over it. (he actually did most of the painting as well as using some of his primers and paints) he's currently on holidays for a bit, so i have run of the shed. ;) if i can manage it, i'll throw a set of blocks in the rear one night and swap the alloys on the rear for the steelies and then pedal on down to vicroads. still need to organise a fan, might need to put the stock one on so i don't cook another engine. shitaxe is a project for a friend. turning a ke30 from manual to auto. it's almost mechanically ready (as it's really the only thing i'm half good at), just needs the interior fixed up, engine bay cleaned and oil cooler mounted. once it's drivable, it'll be off to another mate's place for spraying. color will either be purple or pink...unsure on which one and how dark/light it'll be. the high temp paint was from 2 weeks ago when we put the 4k in, i sprayed the extractors while the engine bay was empty. man, that's alot of writing.....time to go grab some drinks and relax for the arvo at work!! dF

well a few things happened last night which might've been either the cold, the piss, the tired or the fumes...... pics are better ;) enjoi! now, as for the tacho cluster...it's going to be defiled some more ;) the fascia will be cleaned and sprayed, new lenses will be made for the speedo and gauges and the factory tacho will be removed and put into storage. pics of the cleanup/fix will come in a few weeks. the next month or so will be spent getting shitaxe together and running so it can be shipped off for painting. dF

you don't 'need' contacts*....sure they help, and knowing you and your lazy arse habits.... :D in all honesty, everyone should have one...mic, feel like sharing the love and getting 2 sets for me also??! (yes i have one, but only for super secret squirrel stuff)

webers...you're just a sucker for punishment aren't you :lovin: :D i'll let katie know that you're all coming around again in 2 or 3 weeks for some more "help Tate get a car on the road" time. Project Shitaxe has hit a wall...interior needs to be replaced, mount oil cooler (not 100% needed but it was free), put on bumpers, sort out/clean wiring from bay. i'll start another thread when you confirm which weekend you'd like it to be >| Katie loves you all for it

well, if you can't tell by the pic of the cluster, it's been royally molestered :D the previous owner decided he didn't like the stock tacho, so removed what was necessary to fit an aftermarket one in front of the stock one...which involved cutting the lense piece, breaking a mount, cutting the fascia and losing the distance travelled odometer. a bit of a tidy up of the surfaces, some knobs slotted in place and after i've checked if the tacho works or not it'll be hung on the wall.
