  1. a few times what the car is worth...
  2. the auto project is moving forward, slowly, but forward...which will be accelerated as the RedRocket will be coming off the road very soon for a bit of a fix and upgrade. short notes: twin sidies, exhaust leak, head gasket, rear g/box seal, brakes (possibly but probably wait for the next car to use as dummy), radiator.
  3. brake fluid pressure/level i'd assume...what else could be measured??
  4. the tacho redlines at 6, and only goes to 8! everyone knows old corolla's go past 9...duh
  5. got the shock of my life today when i went and posted some gear at the post office in the city. a very neat bamboo ke20, stock hubbies, dark tint, original plates, still had the gutter trim too! i hung around for a bit, but the owner didn't return before i had to go back to work :POSTPICS!:
  6. cheers for that. too much work/lazy to hunt it down.
  7. Vicroads i know you're in SA, but anyway, go down the list to Modification Guide. you could use it as a guide for what's legal and what's not. i can't be arsed to find the other links to the national rules and regs :rocknroll:
  8. just needed to clarify that...
  9. that's why everyone owns at least one Gregory's manual for their rolla's...i have 3 for my ke20 and 2 for the ke55.
  10. do you mean a tea-towel? or a fork with the middle prongs bent/snapped off?
  11. what happened with the updates?? i know that some new cars have come in so where are the updates?!
  12. detatch the water lines running from the water pump/back of head from the heater unit at the firewall, then either block off or loop those lines. disconnect the cables running from the heater control panel to the heater, pull out the dash (you might be able to take it out without removing the dash) dicsonnect/remove the air piping, then unbolt it from the firewall and pull it out.
  13. add mine to the list and it makes three. a good cut and polish will do wonders for it!
  14. "the cheap man's guide to car enhancement"
  15. just on 3rd party insurance. my ke20 is up for renewal atm, and it'll be $144 for a 12month policy, 3rd party fire-theft with RACV. my ke55 was $172 with RACV also for 12 months. my gf's ke55 was $186. we're both under 25. dF
  16. who cares about another cruise....we're all still waiting on pics from the dinner!! :hmm:
  17. extractors on their own are quite loud, have no low-down power, and are illegal as they dump under the body and are above the legal noise requirement. i drove my ke20 with 5k and extractors only 30kms to get the exhaust put on...was VERY noisy and sucked trying to get up hills in higher gears, had to dump down to 3rd @ ~4500 to get any pull up them. it currently has a 2 1/4 (ithink) exhaust with one muffler, and it's still too loud...i would love to test it to see just how loud. cheers dF
  18. hehe, the words "conversion" and "easy" never appear together. there's all sorts of things that need to be done. water lines, oil lines, mounts, pulleys, belts...
  19. well once again, due to me being slack, something else has come along and shifted my plans... i acquired some twin sidedraft dellortos (bolted to a lynx manifold and linkages already setup) which will be going onto the 20. and if i've measured correctly, i won't need to shave the inlet manifold or thicken the extractors to have them mount flush! 2 birds and not even a stone has been thrown :jamie: but again, this will have to wait as the auto project is still sitting in the carport, taking up my working space and time
  20. the 2 door sedan was just another model for people to buy, 4dr sedan, 2 dr sedan, 2dr coupe...more choices means more chance people are going to buy from toyota/toyota dealers.
  21. heh, he said penis... are you all happy now?!
  22. i see two fords too...
  23. GZG50 Century.
  24. sounds like you need a PA Jip... i know one that's available  :jamie:
  25. the only way to kill a ke20 is to scrap it! very much loving the rod look atm, been hanging around a valiant lover too much! are you going two-tone?? or just mattblack the whole thing?
