  1. Not bad at all ! I really should have done that to mine (in hindsight it was all it needed).
  2. Thanks to everyone for the kind words. Today I spent the arvo working on the body again. With some help from my little brother I got a few areas straight and we prepped and primed the doors and the drivers rear 1/4.
  3. Thanks, a few kind words are often all it takes to get motivated again. I had been working at getting the doors straight for quite a while, so had got frustrated and lost motivation. Some of the prep work is very tedious, but now I have got painting again I am enjoying it and have a small sense of acheivement.
  4. Here are a few more pics from a month or so ago,
  5. Another overdue update; Over the past month or so I have been spending an hour here and there on getting the doors straight. Hopefully after a little more work tomorrow they will be in primer and close to topcoat once more. In the last week I have been trying to get a bootlid and apron from Pete Robinson, but he has not been around much. Hopefully I will get them in the next week or so, and then I can baremetal and etch prime them. Today and yesterday I got a few areas in primer and then painted black this morning. I also spent a bit of time tidying the car up by painting the leaf mounts, rear seam welds, and exhaust tip black (along with a few other bits) so they blend in nicely. With any luck I will have the doors and the drivers rear 1/4 primed tomorrow, leaving only dettachable panels to go (front left 1/4, bootlid, bonnet and apron).
  6. Sounds like quite a find, good job. :)
  7. Lol I feel suitably dwarfed ! (I am about 177cm) Sounds like being big in a little rolla really is not to much of a problem (especially if you love them enough).
  8. When I was searching for my Ke20 I came across one in Queensland that was owned by a bloke who was quite tall. He had modified the seat rails so they were longer and he could have more leg room, and then apparantly he could be comfortable when driving. That said, I am unsure how tall he was and how much head room he had. Would you like me to measure the height from the roof to the seat ?
  9. Awesome. Very tidy, well done. :) Over time I hope to end up with a similar result, leaving no stone unturned. I hope no one ruins it for you again, after all that effort you sure as hell don't deserve that.

Top shelf mate :| I hope mine will look that good one day. You guys in S.A really have been hiding some nice ones.
  11. Would love to help you out, but unfortunately I am short on space as well. Good luck and I hope you find good homes for them.
  12. That depends on whether you are aiming for the elite hall or not. Looks great mate, well done. This could easily be in the show and shine as it sits now (there are many far worse cars to be seen on show).
  13. Good work. Looks like there is a lot of work in that body, good on you for giving it a go yourself :lolcry:
  14. Sweet build :D Where did you get your extractors from ?
  15. Top job mate. I know of a few old cars that have been resprayed in this colour and it really does look good.
  16. I hope you don't mean cut springs.......... As has been said before ^^, cut springs are a very bad idea. (Potentially lethal)
  17. Original choice, will be fun. I assume this is a drag car ....? Will you also have it street regd ?
  18. That bay looks good as new, well done :D
  19. Nice work mate, good job. Also, love your plates :D
  20. I have a set of flip over ones, had no troubles with them so far. Either type is way better than normal ring+open end spanners.
  21. Sounds like a hell of a lot of fun to me ! Get stuck into it :)
  22. No, unfortunately I will not. I will be at "Surfmoot'' with my fellow rovers at Anglesea. I am a bit annoyed that I wont be able to make the GOR this year, hopefully I can attend another cruise soon.
  23. Great work Johno, it has come on a huge amount since I last checked.
  24. I am interested but the rolla is a way off being on the road. I can probably sort a ride though. I am away from the 5th to the 15th of January and also around Australia day, but anytime after then and I am in.
  25. Get fitter, get the rolla on the road + build engine and enjoy.
