and most of us know that a dyno sheet can be made to say, pretty much anything you want really
-
don't forget the chrome oil cap and breather filter haha
-
I know one thing for certain, you need the rods that run from one side of the roof to the other, as they create a frame for the liner to stretch over, and they give it its shape. Also, depending on the vehicle, you often have to pull out the windscreens. Not on all cars, but I know recently with my KE30 the screens had to come out

:o this one has probably been mentioned before, but it just pops up everywhere. "Hi all, I'm new on here. I have a KE70, and I want it to make 500hp at the wheels, I have 500 dollars to spend, what are my best options for cheap power? I have a 4k, can I get it to make 500hp? I saw one on (insert various website addresses or forums here)" God doesnt anyone do any research anymore? And more to the point, what are they teaching kids in schools these days?

f@$k me man I can't believe this guy is doing this in broad daylight on what is obviously a pretty busy road
-
That is pretty damn ugly, and its definitely not worth 5k. And its definitely a sprinter....definitely haha
-
not at all, you can get custom springs made to any height you wish, and you can also specify the rate
-
Shouldn't have to I reckon, but there's one way to find out... Slap it in and see what happens!
-
Coil springs should never be reset, because to do that you would need to heat them, which causes severe stress to the metal, or cut them, which also causes stress to the metal, no matter what anyone tells you, cutting springs is bad, and we have had this debate many times. Heating springs is worse

yeah I guess if you've seen one slide you've seen them all
-
thats a cool wheel man I've never seen one before! I thought Tom's mainly did external parts and mild engine stuff. Cashie's will teach you a thing or two
-
Tend to agree.... I will say it can be entertaining at times, but it takes alot more skill to keep a fast car straight through a corner than it does to steer with the back wheels

Any Fight Fans On Rollaclub
Rollaboy2608 replied to LittleRedSpirit's topic in Rollaclub Social (Off-Topic)
Hey Red, I'm guessing you saw "yo boy" on the weekend carve up Hatton? Personally, I believe Mayweather is technically the best boxer I've seen in my 27 years, the guy is just so adaptable, and his defence must be pure frustration -
Home Made Injection And Electronic Dizzy, Whats It Off?

definitely EA Falcon TPI. don't know why they bothered with it to be honest cos it was a totally shit system. As for the ECU, how can you seriously tell from the outside without a part number? Apart from the pin connector shape, they are all pretty much a silver box! -
you shouldnt need to cut the shifter hole unless you have a KE70 box or rear gbox housing. the beauty of the most of the K series motors, is, that they are pretty much held in by about 10 nuts and bolts, really straightforward swap. If this is your first conversion, just remember to pull out the radiator mate. Sounds like a really simple thing, but you'd be amazed how many people don't do it, and put their engine fan through the radiator haha. And make sure you have fun doing it!!Good luck Oh by the way, your speedo should be ok, I don't believe their is any difference between speedo drives from K40 to K50, although their are 2 different sizes for the drive housing itself.

extra safety features certainly don't stop hooning, all that would do is treat the final result, rather than the cause of the problem. I'm in sales, so I spend alot of time on the road. You would not believe the amount of P platers, both red and green, that pass you, as if you were standing still, the car loaded up with mates, in all weather conditions. Many are a ticking time bomb. As far as I'm concerned, the laws are fine, probably still not enough, but certainly pointing in the right direction.

hey boys, as you may have noticed I didnt make it yesterday, after doing a fair bit of the organising etc. Unfortunately, my car had been at the beater's for some time, and despite my best efforts to push it along, it still was not ready for yesterday. I hope everyone had a blast, and I also hope that, if successful, we can all do this again, so I can actually get out there with all of you. Cheers, Nathan

fair point, but if your mechanically inept, the right tools will make it alot easier
-
you require a special tool to remove the window winder circlip, it slides behind the winder and pops it off, without damaging the trim. if you are super careful with removing each of the back mounted clips on the door trim, you shouldnt have an issue, otherwise, you can get body clip removal tools, which slide right under the clips and pop them out without you having to hang off them. In short, as long as you are careful you should be right, just don't rip tear bust

If all the machine work your planning isnt a headf**k, then I'll do a noody run down Oxford St
-
it can be done, but seems like a lot of effort and money when you should be able to get something tougher without modifying the crank

Personally I feel from my own experience, that a 20V blacktop is the perfect choice for a conversion, and for the following reasons: chances are that any 20V you pull from a half cut will have less km's, and could POSSIBLY be fresher if treated to a service and replacement of consumable parts(incl. clutch) it will go very well in standard form, I did a conversion on a AE92 once to blacktop, the guy was tight as, and wouldnt change the clutch, when finished it went terribly. Once convinced to change the clutch, it went really hard, much harder than the 100KW 4AGE in my AE93. Any conversion you do is going to cost money, probably twice what you have budgeted. At the end of the day, you can bolt in a ten year old or so engine, and it probably will do what you want it to for another ten years, or you can bolt in a 20 year old engine, which wont rev as hard, probably wont go as hard(in standard form),and may not last as long as you would hope.

Yeah, you are right, alot of people drive around unengineered. But they are also the ones who whinge the most when they get pulled up, because if its not engineered, and the cops, as dumb as they can be, know its been modified, they will defect you for EVERYTHING that looks remotely non standard. If you havent got the money to go to an engineer, then you probably don't have the money to do the conversion properly either...
