Mick I love your work, all sounds good. I'll probably take Picton Rd on the way home, much faster for me.
-
I reckon those seats could be 323 turbo? my brother used to have one and they look mighty similiar...
-
you'd be lucky to find a car over 20 years old that didnt have some rust in it, its just a given, unless its been restored
-
all welcome guys rust bucket or not!!! trust me, my thing might look good from the outside, but I definitely wont be popping my bonnet, its a real mess under there at the moment!!!

the silvertop IMO is a complete waste of time. black top with a 6 speed, fair improvement, but their are a few mods that are required. power steering needs some mods from memory, possibly a new high pressure hose gearbox mounts and possibly custom linkages wiring for ecu etc. airbox mounting(it is not cool to have things floating wildy in your engine bay) There may be other things that are required, but its been a long time since I completed this conversion, and I just can't remember. Also don't expect to find a blacktop front cut for less than around $2500, plus all your mods and fittings etc, plus a new clutch, timing belt, pulleys, seals, and if you really want to be safe, water pump. You may as well do all this stuff while the motor is out, adding the peace of mind gained from knowing that all these parts are new, because even though most front cuts will say 100k on the odometer, its never true.

the fact that some of our members are either too lazy or need to go back to school, because their spelling and grammar, are so poor, you need to be fluent in swahili to decipher their posts. "me gotted a sik karoller nd me finks it goooes soopa farst"

I love your enthusiasm olskool, if only all the other sydney guys and gals shared your energy... it seems like there are plenty of members from sydney, that havent joined us. It would be great to see more of our members make the effort to get there. It should be a great day, so cmon people, be there in force!

No idea on the TRD stuff. I got them second hand with the brakes, but they were like new. No upgrade required for master and booster, as the piston is only slightly bigger than the SX model piston. Braided lines probably made the biggest difference to pedal feel to be honest. They werent cheap though!!!

Beejays 1990 Ae93 Sx Hatch With Gze Powah
Rollaboy2608 replied to Beejae82's topic in Rollaclub Rides
*will be reverting to 14" steelies after I realised the rear wheels are only held on by 3 threads of the wheel nuts as a result of the spacers to allow the tyres to clear the struts Just thought I'd mention Beejay, I had this problem on my AE93, so I chsnged the wheel studs to Tarago items, they are longer and have the same thread, fixed the problem no worries! -
http://sydneyaeva.googlepages.com/index.html Look here, I have actually been in Grant Burke's Camry, he is a mate of my dad. When dad first told me about this car, I didnt believe that it was fully electric. The car makes no noise. Except for tyre noise. Its an eerie feeling, riding in it. He just puts it into third gear, and off it goes

I used to have one of these, it handled beautifully, here is what I had... TRD front shocks and springs Pedders rear shocks and springs camber pins all corners whiteline rear swaybar positive caster bushes front I also made a slight upgrade to AE101 supercharged front brakes, larger slotted front rotors, and braided front lines I also had Yoko Advan intermediate slicks on Watanabe rims The car was supercharged, I had traction and understeer problems before these parts were applied. The Whiteline swaybar fixed the understeer, and the tyres definitely fixed the traction. The whole setup probably cost me around $2500 with a mix of new and used parts Hope this helps cheers, Nathan

I reckon a 308 would be perfect, relatively cheap to buy, enuf power to keep it moving, stacks of parts available, easy to maintain... what more could you ask for? forget all that fancy crap, its a bloody old car, not worth wasting stacks of money on. All you need is clean, neat and tidy, all the way through the car, it would definitely turn heads simply because no one ever touches these things. I know myself I'd have to take a close look at a modified one to recognise what it was!

and while your doing that, get it cracked tested. Its worth it, because if it is cracked you will have to remove it again, which is gonna be a bummer. You can spray head gaskets with Hylomar, a sticky semi dried sealant, which fills in minute inconsistencies in the gasket and head surface. Doesnt harm either surface, consider it a bit of insurance, if you're really pedantic
-
you can also get the control arms lengthened. I had this done once for a customer with a 1200 ute. Obviously it needs to be done by an engineer or someone fairly skilled in the process. Only thing is, this will not be adjustable
-
yeah olskool thats sweet, anyone and everyone welcome, there isnt much point in banning certain vehicles etc. because we will only get others offside. I'm starting to really look forward to this now hope it all goes well!!!
-
I must admit, I've probably left the organisation of this a bit late, hopefully if it turns out well, we can make it a quarterly occurrence?
-
nice work Mick, this should be enough to at least get something going. And besides, who doesnt love Sigma turbo's? I know I do. Villawood it is, I reckon if we start assembling around 9:30am, that gives a bit of time for everyone to get there. I'll give you a call this week some time Mick just so we can chew the fat about all this a bit Nathan

You're pretty right about fights elsewhere, it does usually end up on the ground, especially if you really want to hurt someone, cos it doesnt usually stop until someone gives up. Speaking of boxing, I believe Floyd Mayweather is fighting Ricky Hatton pretty soon, that should be a corker, Hatton hasnt lost a fight since beating Kostya, and Mayweather has never lost period -

geez I didnt know that, I'll have to add a pic of her to the shrine in my backyard..haha I must admit I don't know alot about the history of the UFC. I do know that most of the fights are very entertaining, although I find it a bit annoying when they wrestle aimlessly on the floor for 5 minutes -
Stock Ke70 Battery Good Enough For 4age Conv. ??
Rollaboy2608 replied to toyke70's topic in Car Electrical
yes but the accessories are still powered by the alternator when running. So unless you are running a significant amount of accessories while the car is off, around 350 cca should be plenty for a small 4 Most recently released small cars use around that figure, and they carry far more accessories today than say 20 years ago -
hmmmm that is gonnna cause some issues I think. Unless we get some serious numbers by say, the end of next week, it may fall over. But I certainly wont give up hope just yet!!! Thanks for informing me anywayz Andrew Cuzzo and Mick, if you're super duper keen, I'm gonna need your guys help to get some more numbers, do whatever you can!!

What about Ali v Foreman? Rope a Dope.... or Holyfield v Lewis? UFC is cool, don't know much about it, the fighters and that, but I've watched alot of that Ultimate Fighter reality show on Fox, its way better than the Contender. Plus Tito Ortiz is a legend -
gotta love the Simpsons hehe

well to be honest I'm a fair distance away from both, Rockdale is obviously closer to Wollongong, but Villawood is probably more central to most sydneysiders... Andrew i'm not a member of those other forums, but if you are it would be great if you could post something. Other problem with Rockdale Maccas is a severe lack of parking. Anywhere else in the Rockdale/Hurstville area we can fit a few cars in? otherwise it will have to be Villawood. Great to have Mick on board, any other Gong people out there wanna meet up with us??
