  1. Trust me its not worth doing shit like this on ANY public road when there are so many places to practice drifting/sliding whatever under controlled environments that are covered by public liability insurance.
  2. make a locker - you know you want to (not for the street of course :locked: )
  3. I'm going to go back to my first post and say that I hope none of this is happening on the street. This is the sort of shit that makes it hard on everyone with a modified car. We get tarred with the same brush. If you want to learn to drift, become a member of a car club, get a CAMS (or whoever) licence and start autocrossing. This is the place to learn car control not on some intersection where mum dad and the kids are could be coming the other way. By the way, I'm not some do gooder. I done some stupid shit when I was young but learnt after a couple of close calls that it is not worth it on the road.
  4. an ex bought aftermarket retractables for her 20. Bolted in no probs.
  5. Ahhh, that takes me back to the days I was working in a pizza shop. Pissed guy rings up asking for a mexicana as hat as you can make it. Pizza cook gets evil grin on face, on goes the chilli, tobasco etc. About 2 minutes after deleivery, pissed bloke rings up yelling that pizza is to f@$king hot. Normal reply was to tell him to man up and not to be a pussy.
  6. well said mate.
  7. So did my 20 till we plated and welded it :D Also had stress cracks either side of the crossmember running across the the subframe. don't think it liked getting airbourne :locked:
  8. Nearly every KE2x I've had has rusted along the entire RHS subframe. Leds to a big horizontal crack :locked: Also the crossmember under the radiator and under the battery.
  9. 30 is not old mate. Trust me.......:locked:
  10. And of course you are only doing the above in a contolled, off street environment aren't you ;)
  11. As has been said, if its only for the track you wont need the 5 speed. When I was autocrossing, I would only spend about a third of the time in third. That was with a KE20, modded 5K and 4.2 diff. With a 4K I wouldn't think you would need three speeds let alone five ;) Definetly try different profile tyres. The different height sidewalls will make a slight difference in gearing. The smaller the height, the more acceleration you will have. Some other things to try if its only a track car - use thinner oils in the gear box and diff. In the past I used ATF in the gearbox.
  12. Down here in Vic, I've never had an issue using the ones on my Commodore. Even during the day. In other states, such as the ACT they see it as a BIG no no though. Just throw some 90/100 watt headlight globes in, as you said, nothing can be done about those :D
  13. should be able to see if there is any fuel dribbling down the throat of the carby when it is at idle (or not running at all) with the aircleaner removed.
  14. needle and seat sticking open?????? that would cause it to fuel up at idle.
  15. you could try to get the crank offset ground to gain a few cc's.
  16. should be somewhere on this site. Heard of using Charade rods but not sure.
  17. Little fella's first B'day party so I guess I better go to that instead.
  18. Not revving to 12000rpm, wheres the fun in that???
  19. four options 1. get them proffessionally reset 2. straighten main leaf a little in a hydrolic press yourself (done this to a KE35 - ended up just off the bumpstops :D Main leaf was curved the wrong way when the weight of the car went back on it) 3. flip a couple of leaves over 4. remove a couple of leaves (did this on my old KE20 - main leaf ended up straight)
  20. My '35 had that bonnet with the chrome vents. Think its an early KE30 - 35 bonnet. Agree, looks so much sweeter than the later ones.
  21. Sucks big ones that I gave one away. Only cost me $90 aswell and only needed a tail light :D
  22. Wade 169 profile worked well in a 5K with similar mods.
  23. ran mine with a standard 3K carb. Went ok but was a little breathless up top. Had a nice lumpy idle though for some reason??????
  24. yeah probably, but you get the same result in the end don't you.
  25. easier to use the KE55 axels in the KE20 diff and to bolt the KE55 backing plates the the housing. Only mod is that you need to take a bees dick off the (spline) end of the axels. can't remember having any issues with handbrake cables. Doesn't help you out much though...........:P
