  1. That is a long cruise!
  2. Definitely more likely to be able to come this time as I've got a part time job now.
  3. Ok so I'm not going to bog it after all these replies. I am not sure if I could do it myself... I'll ask around a bit more and see if that's the price I'm likely to pay. It's only an issue because there is water leaking into the boot. Cheers.
  4. Ok. I have rust in my boot. I went to some panel beaters next to my work and the guy really gave it to me about not wanting to do a rust job... he said it'd be $400 to take the rust out around the seal area of the whole boot and that it'd have to be in cash! Why is rust cutting a bad job for people to do? How much can I expect to pay? Cheers. :)
  5. Yeah I think that's it! Is there an older version of it? Like < ke70?
  6. Yeah I think so? I dunno... it was like this one except where the windows on one panel there was just like metal kinda thing.
  7. Spotted a yellow wagon today... had spotlights attached to the front grille. It looked like a t18? But it was like an extra panel in length or whatever... really weird car but I could see he liked it cause he'd got new wheels and some other stuff that I forget. He looked my car over as well as we drove past. Saw it in the Mundaring village shopping carpark. :poke:
  8. Haha it's hell good to see a later model rolla being done up. How much money did all this cost you? You've done heaps to it... Oh, also those rims look really nice on it.
  9. I saw a nice Turquoise KE-something (20, 30 maybe?) today. It was a 4 door... driving through the intersection in Midland beside the train station and the adult store at like... 4.30. Anyone know who this was? It was a nice car.
  10. I like the look of pretty much everything on my ke70... except from directly behind (the flat boot area). I like how it's fairly economical and it's easy to learn how to fix. I like it 'cause an xx corolla was my first car. I like the fact that it's RWD and I can have a bit of fun coming home on my gravel driveway. They're cheap... that's probably one of the best parts of corollas. I dislike all the rust... especially in the boot since water gets in sometimes. I hate the fact that it's a stock 4speed... it really does suck for driving on highways/freeways. I hate how the diff or wheel bearings or whatever always seem to whine in this type of car (4 speed).
  11. F^^k... I knew I said I'd come to this but I pretty much forgot all about it. I had a reminder on my phone this morning but I thought it was an alarm and turned it off... pretty lame I know.
  12. So not necessarily a good thing unless you're planning to get sideways or race?
  13. Here is a stupid question... what the hell does it mean when you lock a diff?
  14. Yeah I guess I was a bit afraid to get the electrical parts wet since I don't really have anything to cover them with.
  15. Don't mean to drag this thread on but it seems I didn't tighten one of my hose clamps up tight enough cause when I got to uni today I popped the bonnet just to check everything was fine after last nights work and the engine was coated in white crap! The hose that goes to the heater wasn't tight at the engine end... I stopped off at Chris' (chrisandliz) on the way home and he showed me which one it was, so a big thanks to Chris. :rocknroll: Chris also told me that when someone says flush and engine they mean FLUSH it haha... all I did was put water in the radiator and ran the engine for a minute and then let it out haha. I didn't know that you could/should flush it out with a hose haha. Off to do that now...
  16. Oooo yeah it's toasty! Haha. I flushed it with muckowt twice last night just to be sure so we'll see how she goes driving to uni this morning. I definitely will! :y: Hopefully won't have to since it's working now, but I feel a lot more confident that I could if I needed to. :rocknroll:
  17. I don't Haha. Cheers. :jamie: I'm happy with what I learnt... just gonna be really weary about driving it now haha hope everything still works on the road.
  18. Maybe we should make a list so we know who is definitely coming.. then we can give people shit if they don't show up? So far there'd be 6 or 7 definites, right?
  19. Cheers haha! Attempts as in... leak 2 times get it right the last? Haha. Someone should make a how-to guide for this sort of thing.. replace a thermostat or unclog heater pipes, etc. They could use my photos if they wanted. I could even do it!
  20. She's running! Woohoo! One leak that should go away once I tighten up the hose clamp... Thanks so much for all your help guys! Would've been heaps of screw ups if I didn't have your help! The ticking sound that my car has had for a while seems to have gotten louder... probably just me being paranoid but I'll record a short clip and see what you guys think it could be. Edit: Hahahahaha oh yeah the heater works too! :rocknroll: Hahaha.
  21. Got a leak in my bypass hose but I can't figure out where it's coming from... apart from that I think I've done everything right... will turn the car on soon. :rocknroll:
  22. I've tried to follow what you and everyone else have said and finally I have noooooo money left. I would do what you say but I gotta go with a gasket since I am broke and need this car to be running by tonight. Awesome so it can just sit in there? It does fit it's just not like... stuck in there kinda thing. By tighten up do you mean tighten the housing onto the motor? Once again I'd love to but the money situation is badddd.
  23. I've stuck the gasket onto the engine thingy... As in I didn't put it on the thermostat housing I put it on the engine. I'm trying to put the thermostat in but it doesn't clip in or anything... it just sits there loosely. I'm pretty sure it's the right one as I told Coventrys what I wanted and they got it... The part no is TT240-180 and some other stuff says 52mm 180f. Is it supposed to sit there loosely or... ?
  24. Ouch! Haha. Cheers.
