It's come along awesomely. I think we need a picture of all the trophies it's won at the Hilclimb  Hopefully at the end of the week you'll be able to put some more pics up of the new addition.

It belongs to some local chaps who recently purchased and fitted a cheap 5k, and are soon fitting an SC12.

The other thing is the poles are now painted pink (I believe some people would call it Salmon...). Last time they were blue and grey. I didn't really send much time fixing up this photo, but you can see that the poles are a different colour and all the other lights are on.

Hahaha, your actually more correct than you think. Earlier in the day I had been taking high speed photos of paintball and changed some of the settings on the camera, but I forgot to change them back, so most of the photos of the cars came out really grainy. (For those in the know I had the ISO set to 1250, which is WAY too high for doing those sort of photos and long exposures). The lighting was also a little more disappointing than the last time I visited that carpark (this time there was only a couple of really bright fluros that created heaps of shadows, whereas last time there was lots of lights all over the place). After everyone else left KENut and I moved our cars around to get the lighting a little better and tried some longer exposure shots. I think they worked a lot better for the whole car photos. I think the plan for next time will be to find somewhere with slightly better lighting. Organise a couple of long exposure shots showing off the whole cars, then try to photo shop them up car magazine style (similar to the photo of KENuts twinky). Here are a couple of the ones I've played around with so far. I should really ad a little "rollaclub" logo in the corner, lol.

I'd speak to an engineer or the RTA at least. You can't really trust what the internet says. For example, according to the internet: Chuck Norris did not create the Internet; computers fear him and band together for protection.

For sure!! .... I hope you all like J-Pop

Yes please :D I'm pretty sure the one in the 70 is demolished, as the pipe just frayed as we were taking off the hoses.

Been a bit quite on this one lately. Lots of other stuff happening (motorkhanaing in my Integra, going on cruises with the local Celica club). At the moment I'm just tracking down some parts that we need and looking at getting some other goodies.... Parts I need: AE71 T50 Crossmember (think I've tracked one down, deciding on whether to get that or just try to mod the AE86 one). 4AGE 20v ST Velocity Stacks. I've found a place that has some for a very reasonable price, but just trying to work out what size I can fit in the 70 (there are issues with some of the longer ones hitting the brake booster). 4AGE 20v ST extractors. (PM'd a business on AE86DC but haven't heard anything back). I also need to sort out either a diff (thinking maybe a T series) or an AE71 tailshaft. Couple of things I'm looking at: Lockable bonnet pins/latch Hydraulic handbrake. Coilovers/adjustable camber tops (the struts from the 86 are pretty rooted and I want a decent set up in the front end). Been looking at some second hand sets, but I'm starting to lean towards a new AJPS set (as the price is quite decent) and then putting on some adjustable tops. Will probably put in an order later this week for the trumpets, bonnet latch and handbrake. The next step will be installing the pedal box, we were going to do this on the weekend, but the mate that's helping me with the project (as I'm mechanically retarded and the car is at his house) is going to Sydney to get some sweet new parts for his 86. Next weekend I'm hopefully driving in the local khanacross :D

Sounds ok to me. Can bring the Shitegra along, it'll be hectic!

I'm in the same boat, doing a double this year. Hopefully I should get a little back. Plan is to move out (still living with ex  ), stash a bit away as saving and probably drop some on getting the KE70 track ready.
-
I'd be jealous of any P plater that gets to drive any of the cars on that list (I think I'd be a completely different person today if my first car was an NSX not a KE35...)... hell... I'm off my Ps and I still don't get to drive those cars!
-
Is the T50 really needed? I drove my 7k KE55 for 3-4 years with a k50 and never had any problems (still has the k50, though I just don't drive it anymore).
-
If you wanted a carby'd 4a you could always go a 4AC. Would be easier/cheaper to get your hands on, wouldn't have to worry about converting an efi engine to carbys, though it still uses the T50 box. You could always try to source a 5k (or 7k if you are feeling like something a little different), they aren'y extremely easy to find, but there are still some floating around.
-
Yeah. I had the wrong lens on, can't take photos of big things unless I'm miles away, lol.

I only got a pic from the front :( Will do one up now though.

I concurr with everyone here. I'd never pay any more than $1500 for a stock KE70. If it has new springs/struts and you aren't buying it off a 70 year old man you can be certain it thrashed at least a bit. You still can have fun with an open diff (all it takes it water, dirt or absolutely thrashing the engine). I paid $250 for my KE70.... Unregistered, 5k, great body (no real rust, a tiny little bit on one of the arches and some under one of the plastic strips on the door), not running (battery dead and clutch rooted), good condition cloth interior. As soon as you start looking at registered/roadworthy cars though they are over 1k. As for the 7kg springs, I was discussing this yesterday with some AE86 owners, the consensus was (for the 86s at least) that even 6kg was starting to get a bit stiff for a daily (I ran 6kg in mine when I had it, and it was a bit stiff at the rear, though manageable but not the most comfortable ride).

This is the place: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1416549891715.2060049.1171620126&l=19837ce04d Can get some sweet photos. I think when we did those photos it was a sunday night, so it was pretty quiet. That carpark though isn't really near any of the shops though, so it empties out.

Just checked out the window banners that guy makes, seems like they would be pretty cool, I'll check yours out tomorrow and if I like it I might order one for the KE70 and one for the Shitegra (I'm thinking some crazy Jap writing that says something silly like "understeer king" or "front window" or "Honda"). Will be good to see the red twinky hit the track!

Starleto.... super response! HAPPY CHOICE!!

4Age 20V Into Ke70 ,Confustion, Parts List!!
Sloth replied to mellowyellowke70's topic in Engine Conversions
My silvertop was installed by a mechanic, who did all the work/hard stuff. I believe it's running a coilpack from a mid 90s Subaru and had custom leads made. As for the suspension/steering bits I'm still not 100% sure, we are in the process of fitting the 20v to my KE70. I believe different suspension/steering parts are required for clearance. You'll also need mounts. -
4Age 20V Into Ke70 ,Confustion, Parts List!!

Hahaha, prepare to be flamed. I am doing a similar conversion, but the 20v I am using has come from my old AE86. I'll ramble off a couple of things off the top of my head.... You'll need a T50 box (or some other box for the A engine) and an AE71 crossmember. You'll need to replace your fuel line/pump. With the AE86 the dizzy at the back of the engine (at the back once it's rotated to RWD) interects with the firewall, so you either have to cut a whole in the firewall (bad idea!) or relocate the dizzy. You'll need various steering/suspension bits from an AE86 or AE71. The tailshaft depends on the diff, which is up to you... I believe if you keep the stock KE70 diff you will need an AE71 tailshaft. Computer ECU is really up to you... I have a Link G4 Storm, as it supports the coilpack setup I have. You will also need a pedal box to allow you to use the hydraulic clutch of the T50. My best advice is to search around.... as you have said, this thread is up a million times, most of them will contain at least some of a list of whats required. People will get annoyed cause you don't seem to have done any research. I typed "KE70 20v conversion" into google and the first result was: http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/showthread.php?11626-20v-into-ke70-ae86-ae71 which seems ok... If you haven't already started, I'd suggest doing a lot of research first (as you should with any conversion). If you haven't been able to find any information on the conversion (which is unlikely) maybe you should be the one to make a page with a detailed write up. Just be aware that it isnt' a simple "drop it in on a saturday afternoon" conversion (basically any conversion isn't) and it will end up costing a lot more that you first think. Also you mentioned street/track setup... To get it legally on the street you will need to have it engineered (talk to an engineer in your state before starting the conversion). As for track, what type of track work are you after? Drift, Drag, Circuit etc. If you are chasing crazy power, be aware that slapping a turbo on a 20v isn't an extremely easy exercise either (you have to combine parts from various different engines to ensure the internals can withstand the boost). SamQ has written up a lot on the conversion... read the articles on his site: http://s-86.com/articles.html -
300rwkw KE70... sounds terribly illegal (since it's about 10x the power of a stock 70).... but also sounds terrible awesome!! Good luck :D
