Just to correct Matt's above post, Calipers are sourced from an MX62. Also for people who don't know already, UPI are moving just around the corner to 10 Christie Rd. (previously Production Line Holden Wreckers and Well Hung Exhausts. Opposite FibreLogic)

Panel Beaters generally work for around $30/hr. Said panel beater got out of it long ago and not really interested in it any more. This was done as a helping hand thru a good mate.

Thanks Si :D So the KM36 (5K) bellhousing is good for K to W40/50 Would that mean the KR42 (7K) bellhousing would be the one to used for W55/6/7/8 ? Or are they both the same bellhousings?

RIGHTO!! Productive day today. Gary the panel beater came and beat the dent out of my tailgate. going to take very little to get it shmick now :D With the help of Luc, All of the bolt on panels were prep'd for priming. I managed to prime the drivers front 1/4, bonnet (inside and out), both the rear doors and the passenger rear window. Only got home about 20mins ago, so it was a bit of a late one. But not to worry, we have progress :D

Hey guys, working on and been around a couple KM36's. My question is what family gearbox do they run? I know 7K-x's run a W56. The boxes are an external linkage unlike all other toyota (passenger car) boxes I've seen. (due to column shift) They have a removable bellhousing, am wondering if it could be mated up to a stronger box? CHEERS Ryan

Pre-emission K series carbs had the provision for the fuel cut off solenoids. they are just blocked with a small plug and copper washer. Sounds like carbon deposits in the head/piston to me.

I'm just talking about getting it OUT of park. I'm sure the the germans are smart enough to let you slip it into neutral. But on the other hand, they probably sell these in the US market, so who knows what idiot-proof features are needed to comply there.

Same deal with my old ladies focus. Car has to be in ignition and foot on the brake to allow you to shift out of park. Can hear the solenoid click back when the brake is applied in Park

Good luck securing your rocker cover then :P Anastasios, Work out the size and pitch of the thread needed for the helicoil. Dia of thread - Pitch = drill diameter needed. Tapping for an M8x1.25 = 8mm - 1.25 = 6.75 (6.8) drill " " M10x1.5 = 10mm - 1.5 = 8.5 Although the kits i have seen include the helicoils, insertion tool, drill and tap.

Not much happening at the moment. Panel beater hopefully coming sunday, fingers crossed. Bonnet and driver panel going into primer sunday. Still hunting for a passenger 1/4. Gonna finish off the doors and get them into final prime too. Hopefully finish the windows for the last time. then drop some leaves in it, a diff and get then old bitch moving :P THEN!!! off for paint.

Id say probably not. Seeing as you'd probably have KE30 strut tops, and from memory, the KE70 are a fair whack smaller in diameter than KE30. RA60's are closer to KE30 if my memory serves me right.
