Really? Is the KE20 also blue?
  5. Great man! Sounds like it has all payed off for you! Id say the stuttering and wanting to stall are due to the fuel having such a long route to take before it hits the ports. a good tune and rejet may solve some of the issues. Maybe look at a cold start/ extra injector setup where the EGR bolt on the intake manifold is. Give it a hit or 2 for cold starts or for some extra pickup :P
  6. Yea, just being an ass :fuzz: Last time Mick (or the time before) GOR'd, There was a speeding ticket involved :fuzz: :fuzz: :fuzz:
  7. Welcome party? Perfect excuse for a RC meet 'n' greet and cruise
  8. Yes, i do :) But id prefer having something, that if a component breaks, that only requires a trip down the road to the wreckers. Not having to dig thru Japanese sites, buying it sight unseen, waiting for it to arrive then finding out its no the right thing or buggered :blinks:

Spotted a beige KE30 with Blue front panels and a loud exhaust on Unley Rd this arvo. And a Blue KE36 4dr wagon, parked behind the BP in blackwood
  10. All that would cost me with the R31 is the cost of shortening the axles. I have access to everything needed to shorten the housing, convert spring mounts etc. Jason put up a fair argument of why to look past the T series all together. It'd be a fight to the death with all the 86/ 4AGE guys for LSD centers that are getting on point of being 30yrs old. Then the cost of rebuilding the LSD etc. Companies are still making centers (LSD, full spool, lockrite etc) for the R31. Anyone know places that do full spools and billet axles for BW68 diffs :P
  11. Hilux didnt even cross my mind. Finding the right one (RN25/27?) is a pain in the ring. R31 diffs are a dime a dozen these days, factory discs etc etc. Hilux might be a tiny bit overkill for what the 4K will ever put out.
  12. If you want to find out if the sump leaks before it goes in the car, fill it with Kerosene. Will seep thru any pinholes/ cracks faster than oil.
  13. On the look for a KM2x/3x bellhousing so i can put a W40 or W50 behind the little 4K. Been a little hesitant to drive it hard, for fear of blowing this gearbox or the diff. T series is looking good as something that wont have to be cut down. R31 diff is something that might happen too if i go to the trouble of getting it shortened down.
  14. Oh yea, you get speeding tickets in Vic :P
  15. Was gonna ask if the muffler did that. My seam was on the very top so no damage. Although the one that blew it could be heard over 1.5kays away....That was in the suburbs too :P
  16. Looks nothing compared to what was left of the muffler om my KE30. Entirely split seam and holes everywhere... :lolcry:
  17. And worth some serious bloody money too!
  18. How was that S13 overtaking us, then in no time, grabs his rear view mirror in shock that we're right on his bumper!
  19. Looking good man. Personally id be having the pulley machined to spin concentric with the blower shaft. Or have the pulled taken off, aligned and re-welded. Probably end up chewing the front bearing in the little AMR
  20. I run 98 in my 4K. But that does have minor head work and a reasonably big cam.
  21. In my KE38 i cut out the entire shifter hole including the holes and nuts for the shifter. Cut the hole further back to suit the gearbox, welded in the shifter hole in the new position and welded in the original position. Turned out awesome!
  22. 91 octance will be fine in a stock 4K No valve saver needed. Alloy heads have hardened valve seats from factory. Japan went unleaded back in the 70's or so i've read :hmm:
  23. You can get 14" steel bands which are stepped down to take a center from a 13" wheel.
  24. Dunno if I'll come along then. I'll never keep up.
  25. Nice work Fellas. KE70 shifter position in a KE3x = Win.
