  1. don't worry banks, f@$ked us around too. :P And the conveyancer. All over the first home buyers grant. We ended up having to borrow some money off my partner's dad so we settled in time. Bank stuffed up twice and conveyancer forgot to tick a box on the third lot of paperwork (she gets paid a shitload of money here, she's not allowed to make 'mistakes' like that). Not to mention that our lease ended the following monday and we didn't even know if the house had settled by 5pm on Friday. Next house we get we're doing all the paperwork ourselves. :D
  2. Do you have the compliance plate it should have a section with "COLOUR - TRIM" and have the codes written afterwards failing that you can do what misled said and get a paint shop to match it up. Or you could look for some one on here with the same colour green as yours and ask them what the paint code is... have a look on the rides thread or the 30/55, 2o/25 etc threads
  3. If my car hadn't of been stolen and thrashed I would've come :P
  4. Hey guys, Thanks for all your replies! Since my last post we've had a good look over the car and discovered that the diff oil has all leaked out of the wheel bearing, the wheel weights are gone and the rear of the car has flexed as the boot lid no longer lines up perfectly. It also looks as though the windscreen has moved outwards slightly. My boyfriend's boss was telling us that back in the day, the corollas had issues with rear windscreens popping out. Has anyone had any problems like this? Anyway, we went to the wreckers and found a ke55 which we took both door locks, boot lock and ignition barrel out of. We took them down to the locksmiths and got him to match them all up. We're also installing a killswitch. We've replaced the rear wheel bearing, put in a fire extinguisher and we are in the process of figuring out the best way to put in the tailshaft loop (fuel lines and exhaust are in the way and may need relocating) and have to take the throttle shafts out of the SU's and get them rebushed so the car runs how it should. I also bought some actuators off ebay to install central locking, but I have decided that the car is probably only going to last a couple of competition days and it won't be any good anymore, so the actuators are being saved for the ke20.
  5. I had one on a ke55 wagon that I sold at least a year ago now, keep looking, one should pop up.
  6. It's a ke55 I was thinking of doing it to.
  7. I was looking at installing central/remote locking in my car and I was just after some help. I've researched this before, probably way over a year back now, but can't find the pages I was looking at. I was just wanting to know how other people have done it, what they have done and what sort of actuators/kits they have used. Maybe even a rough guesstimate on price? Cheers
  8. Hey Andrew i'm going to have to bow out. We were hoping on doing a couple of minor body touch ups before coming on the cruise. But we only have 2 weeks, and it could be anywhere up to two weeks before forensics come to fingerprint my car for the f@$kwits that stole it. Then we have to replace locks, install a killswitch, rebush the throttle shafts... We can't touch it until forensics come. Perfect fingerprints on it. As i always say, I want to go on cruises, but it never really works out :bash:
  9. I see nothing wrong with what Bill Henson did. If this was a painting or a drawing of a naked girl then it would be totally different, there would never had been so much uproar about it. The only reason why people are viewing it as pornographic and wrong is because it is in a photographic format. Because it is a naked photo it is perceived as pornographic due to it being in the same format as pornography. Porno = photo/video. Bill Henson's work: photo. An artist does not look at the nude figure in a sexual way. We look at the mechanics of the body, the way the light hits certain areas, and the possible artistic fragments within it. Of course there may have been some people going along to see it for not-so wholesome purposes, but this would have been exacerbated if the media had not taken it and turned it into a hurricane. Plus, these people will surely see near naked children anyway, at the pool, at the beach etc. Catalogues advertising children's clothes and underwear are dropped to almost every person's mailbox. Instant free porn for those who are that way inclined. There was nothing sexual about the way these kids were portrayed, they were not staring you straight in the face, they were not in any rude or crude positions. There was no air of sexuality and elusiveness around them. They are there, portrayed at their most vulnerable, attempting to act out a motion of life that all of us have gone through. The long and dangerous path into adulthood. All that I see in these photos are apprehension, vulnerability and teenage angst. This art was in no way intended to be pornographic, they were, as with all other art, created to convey a message and an emotion. If you would like to really see that pornographic images are check out these... Pablo Picasso - Demoiselles d'Avignon type 'John Currin' into google images Agnolo Bronzino "An Allegory of Venus and Cupid" Edgar Degas went from painting young ballerinas ("The Rehearsal") to prostitutes (http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k255/Stlukesguild/Degas-Seatedbatherdryingherself1895.jpg), what does that make you think. History has it he visited the ballet girls everyday to paint them... Edouard Manet "Olympia" Notice how she is defiantly staring straight at you. This woman is proven a prostitute. Paula Rego "The Family" I rest my case
  10. LittleRedSpirit: Points for theory, but I barely know anyone in Orange! Our street runs parallel to about two blocks of a bad area. We're assuming it was someone from there. We just think that it was weird where it was parked. It would have been quite difficult to push it into such a park. It looks like it was driven there. There's a couple more k's on it then there was before, so they've probably taken it for a lap or two around the local area. Only thing that worries me (although it's a good thing) is that they didn't do anything to the car. wtf?
  11. Yeah, I thought that was weird too. We think they were distracted by my boyfriend's brother. He said he went outside and noticed the car over the other side of the car and assumed that I had moved it there. Apparently the lights weren't on and the door wasn't open then. We got home about 15mins to 30 mins later. Door open, lights on. Not too sure what to think?
  12. Thanks for the help guys. I was thinking this morning that I'll just put a set of standard locks on there, I hate the look of solex locks and I figure if they really want to break into my car they'll find another way (i.e. break a window or use some packing tape). I'm thinking a killswitch sounds like a good idea as it wouldn't be too hard to install and I could quite easily hide it under the dash near the firewall. We have a boondy stick, an equivalent to a baseball bat. The only problem is that you need to be around when they're doing it to catch them and give them a beating! I'm working at a servo in town where a lot of those sort come in so I'm hoping that someone will have told people and it'll spread. From now on my little rollie stays on the inside part of the driveway. Preferably on the non-cemented driveway so it's harder to push!
  13. Unfortunately, after a good night out, I got home to see my baby on the other side of the road with the door open and lights on. Door lock is f@$ked, ignition is f@$ked, has dirt all down one side of it and a few dimples in the bonnet where there were none before... CD player, plates and CDs still there. They were obviously looking for money or something cause the glovebox had been gone through, the sun visors were down and the ashtray was open. As far as I can tell, the only thing gone is a pack of smokes, but I don't know for sure because we're waiting for them to dust the car as there are some very obvious hand marks from pushing the car. I'm assuming they got it going as the stereo was on and ignition was on when we found it. It seems as though they pushed it out the driveway, then started it and took it for a joy ride and were disturbed when they bought it back. It's a wonder no-one heard it as it has quite a loud exhaust.... Going to quiz the neighbours tomorrow. Rang the cops, took one look at the car could tell they weren't too concerned "that's the car?" I suppose there's not really much they can do anyway. Anyhoo, I was wondering what people thought about solex locks. I'm not really a fan of them, but it would be alot harder to damage them. Are there any aftermarket locks that are good, or should I just grab some second hand ones? Also, does anyone have any good ideas for an alarm type deterrent? Or should I just install a killswitch somewhere out of sight and unnoticeable so the car cannot be started without turning it off? Any opinions would be appreciated :y:
  14. They're worried about the tailshaft coming loose and pole vaulting your car into oblivion!
  15. psyhcosocial, gematria and sulfur are pretty good. It's pretty bad that there's some songs on there that really aren't my taste. In my opinion I think they haven't done too bad...
  16. it's a loop of solid steel which completely envelopes your tailshaft, about 6inches or so back from the front uni. Just go to your local parts shop, they should have some. Universal fit
  17. They so are not!!! :no2: most commodore/falcon drivers I know listen to mainstream pop trash. I wanted to go to Slipknot in Sydney. I heard it on Triple J. I'm like, awesome, Slipknot! Went to the website and the tickets were already sold out. I'm glad it was good I just wish I got to see them... It also sucks that Australia missed out on the Taste of Chaos tour this year :)
  18. Bathurst Light Car Club, it's the club for this area. We have southern cross cruisers in Orange but as I understand it, it's for the 'muscle cars' mainly... BLCC does monthly meets changing between hillclimbs, khanacross, motorcross etc. Hillclimbs are on Mt Panorama, I don't know where the rest are
  19. Just a question... Isn't the 19th November a Wednesday? :)
  20. So.... Who's going to Kandos next year? Is anyone on here on the Rylstone and Kandos Street Machine Club? Does anyone know how tough they are in scrutineering and what they look for? Any help with those would be appreciated Cheers :) Oh, and here's a link to the 2009 website: http://www.kandosstreetmachine.org.au/
  21. Not really. I've seen a few hillclimbs at bathurst, and I'm a member of the BLCC, I just haven't had a chance to compete yet. Also been to a couple of kandos shows, keen to get more rollaclub members going. Not much has gone on with cruises and RC things out here since I've been a RC member...
  22. Yay 1! Thanks :) Anyone else...?
  23. I'm definitely keen. I'll try and get the rollie looking a little more presentable before then...
  24. Really sorry to hear about this. Not really sure what to say, not really much helps in these times I know. Our condolences and hearts are with you and your family
