  1. Hey, looking really neat so far! Good job with the respray, love the colour! Keep up the good work!
  2. Could we possibly set a date so that I can get the day off work well in advance and hopefully organise a couple of mates?
  3. Where's Yager performance? I'm guessing Sydney, if not, I might be able to help?
  4. I can't make it. I don't have the money to register the car in time.
  5. Yeah it always sucks how people get into these kinds of accidents and it's always the p-platers that cop the flack. As I've said many times before introduce mandatory driving tests every time you renew your licence. I also think you should have to complete an advanced driving course before you can get your licence. That reminds me, I was driving over the bells line of road yesterday, we'd just left Lithgow and we were making our way up the really steep part. Then we saw to cop cars and we're like what's going on here? Someone in a commodore was coming down the mountain, obviously a little to fast for the conditions, and he's managed to slide across his lane, two lanes of oncoming traffic and run straight over the gutter on the side of the road which is, coincidentally, alot deeper on the other side which you can't see. So the gutter saved him from making a mess of himself on the stone wall, but he still had to get winched out cause his wheel was stuck over one side of the gutter. Maybe that'll slow him down, that corner's hairy at the best of times, even worse when it's been raining heavily for half the morning and it's foggy, and in all likely-hood has not been serviced in the last 30,000 k's so it has shit brakes and more than likely bald tyres.
  6. KR00SN on a VZ commodore (i think...)
  7. My opinion lies with the sticker "Ban low performance drivers, not high performance cars"
  8. I had alot of fun! The venue was cool, tried getting there for the working bee the day before though and got lost as I didn't see "College Rd" I just saw the quarry and couldn't find it. Figured it out the next day though when we had another look at the form. The track was nice and smooth at the start of the day and turned into a goat track by the end of the day. I only had one moment of almost meeting a tree! Got used to getting into it alot by the end and then we had to pack up and go home  John Windsor goes alright in the el stocko ke55. He came 10th outright and I was 16th so that's what I'm aiming for 10th or better. Were you there?
  9. Good news! Got the Booster rebuilt for $190. First off they started testing it and couldn't fault it. We told them that it was an intermittent problem and asked if they could have another go. They still couldn't fault it. They called up Robert and got the go ahead to rebuild it anyway. Turns out there was a huge crack in one of the internal bits (never seen inside one, can't remember what it's called) Works like a dream now. We richened the mixture on Saturday and it is running close to perfect, it still takes a couple of seconds to return to idle, so Robert thinks the carbies are slightly out of sync. I can't believe how long we spent chasing our tails looking for the vacuum leak in the carbies and manifold etc. At least we know that there's nothing wrong with them. Lol I polished the car on Saturday, it's a bit dirty now after the khanacross on Sunday, but I'm going to give it another wash today and I'll take some pics of it and the brake booster (all nice and new looking :) ) and the SU's for you Tally...
  10. ZI11PY on a mazda 2 I think DOMN8R on and XR8 E series Falcon
  11. My OMG was yesterday... I finally raced in my first khanacross! It was farking Awesome! got 1 go at 3 different tracks each and then another go at the first 2 tracks in reverse. And I was first in my class (originally it was a given because I was the only one in my class, but then I looked and they put me in the Modified 1601-2000cc class instead of the modified under 1600 class, so I'm first out of 2!) and 16th outright out of 27, which I'm really happy with. :) It was so much fun and next time I'm making robert do it too! Oooh! and I may have found another ke55!

  16. ^^^^^Dubbo isn't that bad! I lived there up until a year ago and sure it had some rough spots but they've gotten a hell of alot better and besides, Orange is much much worse. The media dramatised alot of it. The Gordon estate isn't that bad anymore for a couple of reasons... 1. most of the houses got burned down so there's less people in there to cause trouble (lol), 2. They've sold alot of the houses and cleaned it up reasonably. So, East Dubbo is the one you want to worry about most now, the Apollo Estate or The Bronx as it's affectionately referred to. As far as I'm aware Domino's in Dubbo where I used to work still doesn't deliver there, but has never stopped delivering to West Dubbo. As for me, I'm pretty sure I can tee up a place for me to stay for nothing! :jamie: :)
  17. Keen for a BBQ, I'm sure Robert could be convinced to cook! :)
  18. A Mazda3 came into work tonight with the plates FST70Y. The chick was complaining about the cameras in our store because it made her look fat and pregnant. I was like funny that, she looked like she was about to burst. Lol!
  19. So, it's time for a bit of an update. We've finally stopped chasing our tails and figured out that the vacuum leak has very little to do with the SU's and the manifold and that it is actually the brake booster that is at fault. It was going to cost me around $400 to get a new one and $150 to get it rebuilt, so we opted for the rebuild, as we know the people we took it to know what they're doing, have a quick turn around and do a great job. Hopefully it will be done by tomorrow or Friday, ready to chuck into the car in time for the weekend, so we can muck around with the gas analyser on Saturday to get it all tuned up and running beautifully for the Khanacross on Sunday. I've also had issues with night driving lately as the contacts in the indicator stalk are worn out and half the time when I touch the indicators, the lights will turn off and then you have to fiddle with the stalk to get them back in again. Luckily I have a spare one of these lying around and I'm looking at replacing it tonight.. Also looking into some tramp bars at lunchtime as I have huge axle tramp issues, has anyone else fitted these before? I've heard they are much better than adding an extra spring and whilst they don't remove the problem completely, it comes pretty bloody close. Anyway, should have more of an update soon.
  20. OMG! She's gorgeous :) Congratulations! My OMGGWHT actually happened yesterday, I pulled the brake booster off the car without the 4K workshop manual and without Robert's help! Yay! It wasn't that hard though! Just one bolt that was a bitch to get to, and having to be careful not to get brake fluid everywhere. It's gone down to the shop to get rebuilt, so now hopefully my vacuum leak will be outta here!!
  21. ^^^There's a numberplate floating around orange exactly like that, just spelt differently: MISTIC, can't remember what it's on though. Saw a very nice Maserati in Sydney the other day: MASRTI And the mayor of Orange gets to drive around a car with ORANGE as the numberplate. Not so sure that I like paying rates and taxes so that the mayor can drive around a taxpayer funded car with plates that cost $470 a year... :) Also, I saw a numberplate with BUGGER on it and I thought aw that's so cool, but it was just one of those novelty plates you can buy and the actual numberplate was below that... Ripped off!
  22. Between myself and Robert, these are the cars we have owned: Me: TX Gemini - had a blown head gasket and a few rust holes, had it for about a year and couldn't convince my father to let me keep it so I could fix it up TG Gemini - Maroon, pretty stock, can't remember much about it a ke55 wagon - can't remember what year model - got it for free, used a few parts off it, then got rid of it again, it was so full of rust it would just crumble when you touched it! 1975 ke30 corolla - Shitty blue paint job, someone had stuck disgusting felt all over the dash and painted the seats white. YUK! Pulled it apart and began sanding it back for a respray, but had to sell it due to having nowhere to work on it. 1980 ke55 corolla - Still have it, it's my baby! Blue paint job, worked 4K. 1976 ke30 - Mango coloured, still had the 3K ended up having to part it out cause the chassis was completely rusted out. Had the best dash I have ever seen in a corolla 1973 ke20 Corolla - Currently almost completely stripped back to bare metal and will soon be treated to a full respray in it's original orange colour and a 4AGE Hopefully I'll be acquiring a ke16 soon! Robert: a yellow ke70, 4K, ended it's life rolling through a fence and onto a paddock, not much else notable 1975 ke30 - Mango coloured, same 4k as the ke70, ended it's life when some dickhead poured some petrol over it and flicked a match at it. VH Commodore - was not looked after properly, kept breaking down An old Hyundai Excel (Maybe late 80's model) Robert thought that it was a bright idea to buy a car to drive me back to dubbo in rather than a plane ticket from hospital. "I'll resell it" ha ha! 1985 Toyota Corona - Went like stink! 1994 Subaru L-Series - Still own it. Good little beast, does way more work than what should be expected of it! So that's 13 cars between us so far. I'm very attached to my cars, so I don't get rid of mine too often, I just hoard them!
  23. It's been taken away from the environment, but it's still in an environment, but it's not, LOL :P :hmm:
  24. Mine gets around 10 - 10.5L/100km highway driving and around 12L/100km around town, with me driving, and I'm not exactly an old granny. That being said, I have a reground cam, twin SU carburettors and a vacuum leak from the brake booster, and possibly the beginnings of (yet another) set of fouled spark plugs due to the leak. Yours should definitely get better fuel economy than that. Treat it to a nice all rounded service, see how it goes after that.
  25. WGMG: My headlights keep on turning off randomly when I touch my indicators and you have to fiddle with them to get the lights back on again. Robert says that the contacts inside the stalk are probably stuffed so I'm thinking I'm going to pull it off and replace it with another one tomorrow (I have so much shit to do, and then my car decides to be a pain) my 2nd WGMG: when we had the ke55 off the road for manufacturing and sourcing of linkages and installation of SU's Robert decided it would be a great idea to take out my current indicators/stalk which didn't self-cancel (self cancelling indicators drive me loony :y: :D ) and replace them with the ones out of the ke30. He'd been trying on and off for a bit to get the ones that didn't self cancel to work, but just replaced them and told me that he managed to get them to work. This was probably 12 months ago now, and he only let it slip last week when I told him that there were some sort of wiring demons in my car causing my lights to turn off that he actually swapped the self-cancelling indicators out of the ke30. Anyho, that's my whinge for the moment....
