Oh, yeah, another thing that the driving instructor that I had said was a good thing to do was shoulder checks Every time you go to change lanes or pull off the road, do a quick shoulder check as this eliminates turning into someone who may be in your blind spot ;)
-
Yeah, some driving assessors are pricks. But some are way way way too lenient. I knew this bloke once who told me he passed his p-plate test after reversing into a car on his reverse parallel. WTF? :yak:

Yeah, we'll be camping. Not sure if it's just gonna be the swag or the tent as well. Old Sooby is gonna be the 'support' vehicle lol, that's bad, I just called a car that's 14 years newer than mine, "old" :yak:

drill a hole on each side of the crack and then sikaflex it up and smooth it out really well. Paint it the same colour as the rest of the dash. The holes will only need to be very small, the crack will get to this point and go no further. I would get a nice dash cover, there are some out there, you just have to look. Anything would be better than mine. I'd also keep it out of the sun, invest in a windscreen reflector thingo and treat it with some interior cleaner specialised for vinyl type applications. Failing that I'd look for a new dash. They shouldn't be that hard to find, it's a ke70. :yak:

Black looks awesome!!!

Practise! If you're not so great at reversing, find a quiet road with a straight white line and try to reverse with your passenger's side wheel. My driving instructor did this with me. It's really good for practice. Make sure you go under the speed limit by around 5km/h so if the assessor has a skewed view it still looks as though you're under. As everyone has said, err on the side of caution. I got marked down on my test for not pulling up exactly parallel to the trailer that I had to do a reverse parallel behind, and apparently for not being in total control when I was doing my 3 point turn (I've always been really haphazard with my hands flying everywhere when I do quick turning manouvres[?], but I feel I'm always in control of the car.) Just relax and drive as you normally would and you will be fine!

The Completely Unofficial Drunk Thread
corolla_nut replied to trav_555's topic in Rollaclub Social (Off-Topic)
I am drinking, not really drunk (am i still allowed to post here? lol) and it is storming. Why am I drinking on a Sunday night? I really don't know... I just polished the car, yay! We finally got all the fingerprinting powder off it, we washed it like a gazillion times and it wouldn't come out, but the polish got it out good :y: Oh, and i lost the trigger off my glass cleaner, I don't quite know how and I can't find it. And Robert and Jed are eating gross lamb shanks. I am a reformed vegetarian thanks to robert and i still don't like lamb or anything with bones on it Ooh! thunder !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Sorry, that ^^^^^^^^ was meant to be me, but my boyfriend was logged in and i didn't realise! But that's another central westie: rob83ke70

Welcome back to the broad arsehole of nsw!!!

I'll definitely be there. Hopefully a couple of our mates from dubbo will be there too!

What grinds my gears... Cops only come into our neighbourhood when THEY feel like it. It's the biggest pain in the proverbial. There are blues and people fighting, our car got stolen, someone attempted to steal our bike, etc. Call up the police and the usual "We'll send someone out" or "This is going on all over Orange, we're too busy" spiel comes out and we wonder why the darn we even bother calling them. Media and censorship also pisses me off. We recently lived in Dubbo and Wollongong and only moved to Orange less than 12 months ago. Dubbo gets a very bad rap in the media and the bad news gets blasted around national media. Orange is at least twice as bad as Dubbo ever was or is now and we never used to hear anything, nothing, zilch. If we had of known how bad Orange was, we would never have moved here, probably how the council wants it to work: draw in people from other places who think their town is bad. Then you're committed to stay here for at least 6 months. Council's a group of scumbags (we all knew that anyway, but these are worse, used car salesman and real estate agents earn mayorship around these parts), Police can't be arsed, and all the bad people who make trouble for everyone else keep reproducing. Right now we currently live on a good street, we have two streets parallel to us that are really bad and then there's a new estate. We can only hope that more good people keep moving in around us, pushing the bad ones out, or that the little brats and tossers keep killing each other off! Oh yeah, another thing that irks me! People ripping on the black African immigrants where we live! Or just racism in general. They have just as much right to be here than anyone else and if they're more proactive and not so choosy about getting a job, then good on them. More than I can say for a lot of white "Australians" that I know, who expect everything to come to them for nothing, for a job to just fall in their lap. I had a person I know bitching about them the other day, they said "You know they hate us." "Hate who?" she replied by saying us whites. I'm like, "Well you can't half tell why" We treat them like shit. Why? They're the same basic make up as us, they're just a different colour, and the only reason why people hate them is because they don't understand them and they're afraid. Why can't everyone just accept each other's differences and live in peace?

Oh, and what grinds my gears.... Paypal, bunch of moneygrabbing cocksuckers who tell you your credit card is linked to another account and it's not your credit card. wtf? Of course it's my bloody card! And it's been linked to that account ever since i had a stupid paypal account. And i don't get it, I thought you weren't supposed to offer PayPal as the sole method of payment? I think I'm going to have a spack at ebay now... :)

That's strange, my internet is broadband and almost everytime i'm on RC the dial up connection window pops up for some reason... :)

I'm glad you're going well with your car, and I'm glad that you're trying something different. There's just something i don't understand, why go for the absolute rock-bottom, stingy options. It just seems to cause you more heartache than anything else. If you're going to do a job, you should do it properly. You don't have to spend a ton of money on it, you just need to get the right stuff for the job at a respectable price... I also don't understand why you want offers over $4,500 for this when all along you've been cutting corners? If I've learned anything about cars you will NEVER get back the money you may or may not have put into it...

I'm definitely there! I only live 2 hours away.

+1, I'm still :P sanding my ke20 back!

There should be a cruise to the Kandos Street Machine and Hot Rod show on the Australia Day long weekend. It's like a 3hr drive from Sydney and it's a good event.

The "omg Guess What Happened Today" Thread
corolla_nut replied to JiP's topic in Rollaclub Social (Off-Topic)
Aww man, everyone's got cheaper fuel than us. Normal unleaded is still 109.9 and 98 is 122.9. Man, my servo's a rip, can't believe I work for them. and contrary to popular belief we don't get any discounts, not on fuel, not on instore stuff. Nothing, oh no we get free shit coffee from coffee machine and free slushies that taste like shit as well!!! At least the pay's alright i suppose... -
What an absolute waste of a good ke10. Not to mention sacrelige putting dirty datsun dash and other parts into a Toyota piece of quality!

That's pretty cool that you got them done for nothing! Cloudy weather is good for photographs, you don't have such harsh light spoiling the photographs. Plus I think the clouds make some of the pictures look moody, quite nice really. :)

my kitty cat Garfunkle. We've had her since we first moved out, so... 4years? yeah she's almost 4 years old now! Also have a dog named Anchovy, but I can't find a good pic of him, so I'll post it later.

They look awesome. I like the top right one! How much did pro photography set you back?
