  1. What!!?? You're censoring my post? I can't say S H I T anymore? Smeg? what kind of a word is smeg? Anyway good luck with your carby troubles, I just wanted to complain.
  2. I also had this problem, I used to drive 40ks and back everyday to school, and it would also do it, biggest pain in the arse. I have a dad and my boyfriend is also a mechanic, they thought I was going crazy because it would never do it when they were in the car. Mine had smeg in the needle and seat, caused it to flood, and you had to play around with the accelerator when you were driving to get it to work again. smeg in the fuel can do it too. I have a mate in dubbo who has a ke70 and they had the same problem, but it wasn't the carbs or anything in the engine bay, it had them stumped, they ended up pulling out the fuel tank. There was an empty bottle of additive inside the fuel tank! :D
  3. It was a dark green one and only in the show n'shine as far as I could tell. Here's a pic...
  4. This is the site for it, only it's down at the moment, but there's still 6 months to go anyway... http://www.kandosstreetmachine.org.au/ Or if you go to the one below, it has an article from this year with the president's details, http://www.rylstone.com/pdf/community_cape...ember_page1.pdf

  6. I'd be interested in going for a cruise to Wollongong, I lived there for a couple of months but had to move back to a place with a lack of beach and a lack of culture.... Also I need to pick up some mail and shite I left behind, good excuse to get it! I'd be happy to meet in Sydney too
  7. I was wondering if anyone from here has ever been to the Kandos car show? It's on every year on the Australia day long weekend, and it's a pretty good couple of days out. I saw a ke30 2 door in 07 and an off its tits orange ke20 this year. Oh yeah, and there's been an orange levin there both years that ive been. It has show and shine, motorkhana, toss a spud, whoa to go, burnouts etc. And if thats not enough....It has BEER! I know how much everyone likes beer! :( yuck! I reckon it'd be cool to organise a whole heap of rollas to go to this!! What do you think?
  8. I'd say so! If I had the money for petrol (funny) I would drive there, never been to Perth but always wanted to go, a few of my cousins live over there.
  9. the fireworks look awesome!!! :(

  11. I think they are interchangable, as long as the bolts look the same it should be. the ke30 had two resovoirs on the master cylinder. This is what from what I remember...
  12. Also, the reason why you have such a short ratio is that you have a very small rubber band for an engine and it doesn't have the torque to pull you along at higher speeds that you would get out of a nice tall differential. Ideally you'd need a bigger engine to run a taller diff. I'm under the impression a ke17 was designed to be a snappy little car and you lose that snappiness with a smaller diff. I'd be happy with the 4:1.
  13. There were 3. In a borgwarner there was 3.89:1 a 4.1:1 and a 4.3:1. Never seen a 3.89:1 though. I don't know what you can or can't get in a jap diff, have a funny feeling that the autos have the taller ratio.
  14. Most panel beaters do not want to have anything to do with rust and old cars. I went to this panelbeater in Dubbo asking for a quote on how much it would cost me to spray my ke20. He quoted me a hideously expensive price, and I found out later on from a friend that the panel beater said that amount so that I wouldn't go to him cause he didn't want to do it! Most panelbeaters (unless they're a restoration place or respraying fully sic cars) don't like doing much more than the simple R&R as it's less expensive to get a new panel and most modern cars are fibreglass in the spots where they usually get hit. If you have a friend with an oxy kit, it shouldn't be too bad, just cut the rusty spot out and weld in a donor panel in place. Or you could do it cheaply and bodgily with some rust killer, sand paper, wire brush, bog and masking tape. There's also a few books around for panel beating etc, but they don't go into repairing rust that much either. If all else fails you can cause a car accident somehow where you're not at fault! Panel beaters love insurance jobs! :)
  15. I know for a fact that a 32/36 DGV will work on a 4K. It's not the best, but an engine with a lumpy cam is going to be a bit of a pig down low anyway. You need to chop the standard inlet manifold to make one large oval hole before fitting the adapter plate and the throttle may be interesting to hook up... A 34 ADM also works on a 4k, but needs to be rejetted drastically. Again, it's not the best down low. The accelerator pump is also far, far far too rich. A single 1" and 3/4 SU or a pair of 1" 1/2 SUs would be best for driving it around on the street as it has tamed mine down noticeably, but not everyone can go sidedraft carbies obviously. I would put a DGV on a lumpy 4K, or better still a 5K, if I was to use a downdraft carby. The electric choke on the DGV is the go too.
  16. Last one... I promise :P Are some other ones off my analog SLR, but they are too big. Maybe later...
  17. Some more... One of my TAFE paintings
  18. These aren't that great, but they look interesting... Some of them were taken with my camera phone. I don't have a digital SLR camera. Have an Analog one though. One of these is of my cat Garfunkle, and another is of my rolla on the weekend with an odd tyre. She's on the side of the road, we had just changed the tyre cause we got a flat on the way to dubbo on the weekend :P
  19. Man these cars are f@$kin awesome!! I wish we had more of these over here, these guys are crazy! But I like it :P
  20. My bf just read that. He thinks it's really funny. He reckons you should come to Orange and you should take that to his work, along with my car, the boys at his work thought my plates were amusing. They'd laugh if they saw them both together with those plates! I had that design of the plates in mind for a while and I thought I'd better order them before someone else beat me to them :D lucky! KR01LN looks pretty cool, I never thoughht of that one! Cheers Kylie
  21. The fuel regulator cost us around $50 mates rates . they go into the fuel line just after the pump. They lower and regulate the fuel pump pressure, you can set it between 1 and 5 psi which is lower than the stock fuel pump pressure on its own.
  22. I think that the two black stripes down the bonnet and front apron look good if stripes are your thing. Definitely do not use the yellow or gold. Looks bad! It's like what they said before me, poster car for bp... plus it's the australian colours as well. the yellow on your car will just not work unless you change the colour, but I really like the green...
