  1. Yeah, They give good spark, The mech at work can vouch for that. When he was working on my car he copped a big boot..
  2. Bolts unwound, Tightened them up and it got me to work Friday and today. Took it down to get the carbs tuned today, so looking foward to having it run properly.
  3. Simple on/off switch that cuts power to your ignition or fuel pump depending on how you want to go about it..
  4. Go the skid action :P
  5. What a f@$kstick, I'd be pissed too..
  6. Thanks guys, Didn't get a chance to get on this morning, Had a great eavning going out for dinner and the day was pretty good too.
  7. I can't really complain, They did all the work for me for free. At the end of a day its only a gasket, Just the time to fix it is the real prick..
  8. Had a closer look and found the cause which pissed me off a tad. Mechanic at work didn't put 3 of the offset washers back on properly, They were sealing the intake manifold fine but #2 / #3 / #4 are not sealing down properly.. Story short, It has f@$ked the gasket and the carbs have to come off to replace it again..
  9. f@$king Piece of shit has an exhaust leak starting again.. Going to be fun to drive in peak hour traffic tomorrow morning, Just what I wanted..
  10. They probably didn't know the wiring existed down there as its covered up normally..
  11. Will it fit through the opening in the tank?
  12. Yeah, I think he is on the ball with that one..
  13. Can't wait to go down and see this thing in the flesh..
  14. Who's the camera man? They are making me feel sick.. Lucky I'm not epeleptic!!
  15. Booked in next monday to have the carbs tuned, Hopefully its nothing major and its cheap to get sorted..
  16. Good to see this coming along, Should be down that way soon to pick up my engine crane after my car is sorted out..
  17. Yep, Brand spanking new leads when I installed the electronic dizzy. We swapped the leads around on 1 & 2 and the problem was still on #2, Comes down to fine tuning of the carbs which we found quite weird to just affect #2.
  18. Resetting the float level of the rear carb this morning has made it better than it has been, Going to get it tuned properly next week. Drove it home and when you open it out it does go nice..
  19. All new spark plugs and still had the same problem this morning, #2 cylinder wasn't doing anything. We pulled off the vacuum line to the brake booster on #1 and it was pulsating between vacuum and positive pressure. Took the float out of the front carb and reset the float level which was apparently out and the problem was still there. Also front carb didn't appear to have much vacuum, If you put your hand over the rears you could feel good vacuum and fuel vapour there. The mechanic dicked around with the front carb a bit more and then the rear started doing what the front was doing. Looks like its come down to a problem with jetting/tune of the carbs (fuel). Got it running on all 4 cylinders again this afternoon but the idle is all over the place again..
  20. No vacuum leak and the mechanics recon the valves are all set right
  21. Got the piece of shit back together today, Runs but for some reason #2 is missing and the idle is f@$ked.. Hopefully its just carb adjustment now or I'm f@$ked..
  22. My KE70 clocked over the half million before I ripped the head off, Should have it back on the road this week..
  23. lol @ punching your husband.. Don't worry, I'm starting an apprenticeship as an auto electrician and managed to do this 2 times in one week at work, First with my car (Bumped the park lights on when I got out of my car at work) Then it was dead flat when I went to start it to go home. Next I somehow managed to do the same thing with the work courtesy car over the weekend. I was pretty annoyed at myself, But at least slapping a new battery in temporarily was not a problem :P
  24. Think you mean T50 gearbox if its behind a 4AGE..
  25. Also forgot to mention, My KE70 passed the 500,000km mark the other afternoon :P Updates today, Got a whole new gasket set and timing chain set for $110. Fuel Pump is back in, Timing chain is on and Timing chain cover is back on. To do list. 1 - Rebuild alternator 2 - Rebuild Starter Motor 3 - High Temp paint extractors now I can get at them 4 - Plumb PCV valve back into intake 5 - Refit head 6 - Replace one broken throttle linkage spring 7 - Clean air filters 8 - Install Distributer
