  1. I don't think its a matter of simplicity, more that we havent had such an influx of new members asking the same stupid questions before. The few that used to trickle through were easily dealt with case by case. There are very few people that ever make it to 40%. I think about three or four. The record is 11 warns... We can start cracking down hard, but is that really the environment we want? We went through a period of over moderation last year from memory. It wasnt nice for the general users and resulted in a noticeable lack of posting everywhere! I really don't want to go so far as to warn everyone for every little insignifigant incident. Then youve got to try and back it up with consistancy. "I was warned for that, but you didnt warn him!" I did this to another forum I worked for. It was surprisingly effective. People could still see their post count in their profile, but it removed the "e-penis on display" kind of effect. I personally don't give a shit about my post count, or anyone elses for that matter.
  2. Yes I can see that :(....But in every engine bay pic there is a clutch cable...its obviously an old interior pic
  3. Its a possibility. With the karma system thats been in the works, perhaps we just show the persons karma beside their name in the forum view rather than rate each individual thread? Totally agree. Just looking back through your created threads and you would be a prime example of someone penalised because of the blanket rule. My guess is you wouldnt've waited around till 50 posts... The only problem I see with this is that its an Admin only action. While there are 4 of us, we're not always here to do these things. It would also mean taking time away from other projects that need attention. We can allow moderators to suspend however they can only suspend ALL of a users posting ability.
  4. I'll see your Tornado and raise you another soon to be extinct bird :jamie: I sure will miss them :( (no quite literally I WILL cry when they retire. Ive grown up and have been around F-111s all my life)
  5. don't think so....I can see a clutch cable...
  6. You will have to engineer seats regardless unfortunatly....yay engineer fun :(
  7. I can try....Its still beta :( It should ONLY show when you create a new topic. If you get it anywhere but creating a new topic PM me with the FULL URL (inclulding GET form variables) There was a bug with it showing up when you hit "reply to post" but that should be fixed now. I think its a big double edged sword. We cut down on newbeh postings but If an experienced person comes here, wants to share information but can't they will go elsewhere without blinking an eye. Ive no problem moderating terrible threads...
  8. heheheh you could probably do it to a lawn mower just for shits and giggles. You'd need a whole 9CFM. "So what boost are you running on that Briggs and Stratton?" "Oh about 120 psi......" don't feel bad or anything....we all have crazy ideas....just ask Teddy :( *waves to Teddy*
  9. And you lose the cooling effect of the nitrogen in the air. Thats why they use nitrous oxide instead of just oxygen.
  10. 6.73 kg m ...close enough
  11. Volume is the problem. An engine consumes massive amouts of air...far more than your tank could hold (unless it was a few hundred litres). About 150 cubic feet per minute PER 100hp is what you'll need aka turbo/supercharger...
  12. On topic please....
  13. Heheh...too much?? I do agree with you though. My positions always been for less forums but thats up to Nick :y: We had a big cull a couple of years ago but they've grown again...
  14. The thing you need to keep in mind is that not everyone that signs up is a complete idiot. I know if I signed up now with some of these suggestions I just wouldnt bother and move on to another forum...
  15. The only reason I wrote the rules as big as they are is that I was trying to be comprehensive (albeit I have missed things that will be added in future editions). Ive got a few ideas floating around in my head that I'll get down in writing tonight hopefully.
  16. My fear then would be that we end up with a nissansilvia style problem where people go around making posts that try to look relevant but all theyre doing is trying to get their post count up so they can use the for sale area. Would perhaps involve the moderators cracking down on any garbage postings in the first 50. I'll make a massive SEARCH banner thisarvo and see if people can miss that :y:
  17. The problems not so much with guidance/advice Coyote as people asking terribly generalised questions. We've no problems helping people with the specifics but if they want us to hold their hand every step of the way and give out all the information on a silver platter...sorry no can do! Recent examples http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=9048 http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=9050
  18. I agree with scott. Do it right the first time and you wont be regretting it 6 months down the road. I think Biggo is blowing T series diffs behind his 20 valve.
  19. heh heh....he was faster with mine :y: ....still took alot to get it out. A manual conversion is not something to try if you've not worked on cars very much. Could end up taking you alot longer than it should.
  20. They accually tick a box saying they've read and agreed to the rules when they sign up....not much we can do if theyre lying. Rules when you sign up are the same found here: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=8093 Got that MORE than covered :y: Thanks anyway
  21. ROFL...I thought the bopit thing was a penis pump....errm...carry on! Oh and happy birthday :y:
  22. Yes I know that... :y: Perhaps I didnt explain myself complete or clearly. There was someone doing independant comparisons on the same car however they never released results after the tests were complete. As they were trying to sell the garrett version Its my view that their tests DID NOT support the garrett version being "exactly the same" as the HKS version.
  23. Hes talking about the HKS GT-RS which is a GT2871R with HKS designed compressor and turbine. Garrett have copied it recently but from all reports I would put my money on the HKS turbo making slightly more power under the curve. Its probably negligable anyway...
  24. Or if youre on a budget a T28 off a GTiR pulsar. Largest of the factory T28s rated around 330hp. Theyre not ball bearing but were designed for rallying in the pulsars so theyre pretty tough. Picked mine up for $600 in excellent condition. Totally agree. Need to make sure you can TURN and STOP before you GO. Even then a standard SR (130rwkw) is going to be a challenge.
  25. Only if its a shithouse alarm. My old ones automatic state was immobilised, alarm off...which was a real pain in the arse if you had to try and push start it....almost impossible.
