  1. Well its gonna have to run rich all the time. Carbys don't differentiate between pressure levels. All they see is a pressure drop across the venturi. That pressure drop might be 1psi natually aspirated, then add boost and the pressure drop is still going to be 1psi. I might not be explaining it best, someone else might be able to help. Carbys off turbo cars have a pressure compensator and add more fuel as the pressure rises. Ive always thought using twin charade turbo carbs on a corolla twincarb manifold (they should bolt up from my research) could be a good way to go. Theyre off a 1L motor so two of them should be good for a fair bit of power. They can take some boost, I knew a guy who was running 20psi through one on a charade :y: making 200hp!. Apparently theres a problem with them blowing the seal out around the throttle pump, there must be a fix for it though.
  2. Does that accually work? I would've thought youd get fuel surge at lower tank levels?
  3. Solex Weber? which one is it? From what I hear theyre (the solexs) not much chop.
  4. Accually I don't think its a turbo. Everywhere its touted as a turbo but I don't think it is. My view is that its off a crop dusting apparatus.
  5. But are they compatable between jap and borg? Id stick with a KE30 jap diff. I know from personal experience that its pretty much a straight swap. Welded mounts, think we swapped the brakes over and swapped tailshaft unis (straight swap for the KE30).
  6. don't you love how the government turns society on itself so theyre distracted from the real issues. :y: f@$king politicians.
  7. Could have been a carbon buildup and when you booted it past the car you cleared it out.
  8. V8s are boring. Everyones doing them these days. Bring back screaming V10s and 12s
  9. I doubt it very much. I used KE30 jap axles however theyre a few mm too long. If you put them in as-is, you wont be able to get them out after a few thousand KM. I'm not 100% sure how much needs to be taken off though. If youre OK with a welder you could swap a complete KE30 jap rear end like I did after my axels got stuck. Its probably a CM or so wider each side.
  10. You win...I give up. The CA18DET is just too super dooper for me :) (cheater fuel...heh)
  11. Perhaps the belt is streched? Can you adjust the altenator so it doesnt touch? Might be able to get a shorter belt or something...
  12. Lets all play "drown the 4K" :) If youre gonna go to that much work modifying a manifold. Might as well go side draft. :)
  13. Found another more likely candidate. SSR Professors. don't expect them to be any cheaper. I believe these are up around $900 per rim brand new (plus shipping). Good rims are expensive for a reason. The only thing I'm not sure of is weather these come in sizes smaller than 17s. Ive got a feeling they do, but I can't confirm it. (Found a PAIR, second hand 18"s for $1600)
  14. Its called "Polished". Chrome is for posers who wouldnt know a quality rim if it bit them in the arse. If anyone chromes Work rims I'll personally fly kick them in the head.

Just make sure he has his floaties :)
  16. Not to mention bad fuel economy....
  17. MRMOPARMAN Can you possibly downsize your avatar?? 300kb is way to large.
  18. Need to put this stuff in the FAQ
  19. Not really. People don't generally get warned for bad threads...if they did alot more people would be on 48hr suspensions...
  20. Keep it clean please guys....
  21. Should be able to find a weber off an engine around the same size. Jetting it down or up isnt very difficult. The guys at any good carby shop should be able to give you a bit of advice as to which jet sizes to run. I think Ive got a standard 2T carby somewhere if you get stuck
  22. Could be Work Meister S1-2P. Minimum size is 15x6.5. They do come in 4x114.3. Price is upwards of $3000 per set.
  23. Well if its 1300...then its a KE70. Just because its got the new face doesnt make it AE71 :( Looks like 4K-H written on the air filter (Its specified in the advert). Looks like its got an electronic dizzy too. don't know what the go is with the offset radiator...It doesnt really look factory.
  24. I floated the idea with a couple of regulars but none of them liked it very much. I'm pretty anti-popup myself. Teddy also pointed out that many people use popup blockers these days so its unlikely to be seen anyway :(. We can always give them a warn anyway, I mean its hard to miss the message... Your problems sound odd. I use firefox on linux and I havent and any of the problems youre describing. Someone else mentioned something similar. What browser are you using? Edit: found what might have been causing it, let me know if it still happens.
  25. haha not at all....that better? :jamie: can't have a good RL getting upset now can we?
