Well f&&k me I just bought a 5K :D Maybe just original on the outside then :) I started today all emo thinking I wasn't going to change anything on this car but the 5K literally fell into my lap
-
You're just a dreamer Ben, the amount of stories I have heard about you wanting to buy everyone's cars and parts makes me :) Less time on the net dreaming young man, more time spent on your cars perhaps  Chobis - sorry to interrupt- please continue  I saw a overrated one of these in the hills the other day :D Do you ever think you will change your style on this thing and give it a full restoration to overrated condition?? I mean it was your first car and you still have it maybe another evolution is in order in like 10 years time :no2:

A member on here who is just a dreamer young kid yet continually comes on here telling people how to do their cars  Perhaps produce something good yourself, practice what you preach :hmm: Grinds my Gears SO HARD :) :D   :no2: :bash:

Well after some hard thought I have decided that I will keep this thing original  The more I think about it the more I can't do it to this car :D Those rims will have to go on another project!! Ryan I'm coming down the workshop on Saturday and I'll remove the "airconditioning" I guess I will have to find another car for that too  I'm going to hunt down another KE1x or KE2x to do some crazy mods to in addition to this stock beauty :)

Bummed I missed it but my car is not ready :)

Always love reading about tough VW builds :)

Lesley your car is just not their cup of tea :D It obviously is yours as that's why you have it. Be proud of what you have  I got hated on over there for the way I did my silver Corolla all because it wasn't full sick drift material but when I opened the bonnet they STFU  Huw (Slide86) should know better though, he is one of the nicer guys from over there. Probably just caught up trying to be cool with the kids :)

Champion!!! 13 x 6 +8 is good for these, not too much not too little. I am liking this build a lot can't wait to see it on the streets of Adelaide :)

Benzo GTFO you will never produce anything half as good as any of the rides on here :)
-
It's just you  Gav you are a pro and have waved your magic wand on yet another KE Corolla :)
-
Spotted Lesley late Friday afternoon in the Mt Barker Home Maker Centre carpark. I was in the Silver Commodore that beeped at you as you were leaving. That is my "other" car and I really hate it :) It does the family duties though

I think I spotted Lexxi today in the hills near Cudlee Creek KE35 Coupe, yellow with shade on the rear, P plates and two Aussie Flags on it Australia Day is over lose the flags :hmm: The amount of bogan commos I saw in Elizabeth rocking those flags today gave me the shits :D

Good to see one of these on here and also in SA Can't wait to see more and more pics of this and to see it out on the road someday :D -
The sheer amount of work involved in making a AE71 to KE70 spec astounds me, why would someone be so stupid :D I know the previous owner did it  Good luck with the car with a bit of a tidy up it will make a reasonable daily :hmm:

The only issue I can foresee is engine bay room. These things are quite tight. I am, I mean a friend of mine is currently putting a supercharger into the bay of theirs and even that is a tight fit with the small k motor. The 4AGE is going to take up extra room as well as trying to cram a turbo and a supercharger in there you certainly have your work cut out for you. But, I would like to see it done so good luck to you :D

All Japanese Parts And Panels In Lonsdale

I'm sure if he wanted to advertise on these forums again he would need to get in touch with Irokin :) From the sounds of it though he has some ground to make up  I had an 'interesting' dealing with Dave, but he sorted it out with me so maybe I will give him a try in the future :y: He treated me like I was a kid with $2, so I took my $2 elsewhere. I still think it is a case of if you are mates with him your business dealings seem to go smoothly and well if you're not - look out :( -
All that stuff about wanting to steal the car, seriously man you need to be more careful. I know you're trying to be a nice guy, show people your car and share your enthusiasm and knowledge etc but you just can't trust anyone. Sure the person who looked at it might not be stealing it, but out of the 400 people he tells about it because it is so awesome one of them probably wants to!! All it takes is for someone who knows about it to get drunk and tell all his mates and one of those mates will be a kent

flange leak is stock on these things

Spotted Nickyboy burning up East Parkway last night in the 20 :y: It sounded quite tough Nick

Mine has a jap diff so I am busy sourcing KE30 Jap Axles for it... I have a feeling though that the axles won't bolt up to the KE11 diff housing anyway (bolt pattern not same) regardless of shortening them and resplining. I have read about the bolt pattern issue here and elsewhere. The shortening and resplining wouldn't have been an issue though. The other option is to get the original axles and drum covers re-drilled to 4 x 114.3. I was told this has been done albeit not the greatest option due to lack of surface area etc. If I were to do this I would look into options of getting the axle ends (where they bolt on, don't know there offical name) made larger so there was more surface area. Either way I am going to take the axles to a machinist to see if this can be done. At this stage I want to get these rims on in a time limit, with minimal expense. If you were running any sort of power in these things the logical options would be a T series rear end shortened or like you said R31 or Pintara. Really the original diff ain't going to take much of a beating, though I'm sure others will argue and tell you of their 300HP KE11 running the stock diff. I am really chasing a spare diff and axles etc from a 10/11 so I can play around a little ;)

Some more work from Ryan today sees the battery relocated to the boot. Will make the engine bay a little tidier and easier to fit the aircon unit. I feel funny sitting at work knowing Ryan is busy working away on my car but hey I ain't gonna squash the guys enthusiasm ;) I'm coming down there soon I promise to have another look and help you with yours :D Work is progressing quickly I'm looking forward to a big reveal at All Japan Day :) Ryan - don't forget to do some work to your car hey ;)
-
What a night??? I went down to the shed and with a bit of supervising ;) while Ryan worked I now have an electronic dizzy installed and fired up first go :) Cheers Ryan you are a champ!!
