Cleaning Thermostats..good Efficent Way?
Teddy replied to camerondownunder88's topic in General Mechanical
To be honest, if you have the themostat out for any reason, REPLACE IT. For an item that is sub $30 for a gold plated one (lol), and the amount of motor peformance related with it; its not even worth trying to clean or fiddle with. Genuine ALL the way. -
List updated  Anyone else keen?

Was a productive day, quite happy with the results. Finally, we can stand back and actually see the car coming together nicely. Because for many years there (haha) it just didnt look like much.

Oh that looks so much nicer ! How many god dam cars are you restoring atm ? haha

Personally, depending on your $$, i think if you saved up $1500 you could have alot of fun. Get an exhaust, and the bling bling air filter. exhaust $300. extractors $200. Filter $100. Then, spend some of the remanding money on taking the car to someone genuine who knows what they are doing to remove and recondtion the cylinder head (get valve angles all recut, head fresh-up), and get the head ported and flowed. It doesnt have to be anything RACE like, but you would be amazed how little things can make a bid difference. After looking at 4afe heads and 4age heads, i too now agree that the 4afe heads have more potential, due to the port angle. Keep enough $$, to get some larger injectors. Happy Days !

Ok, movie(s) to come of blue car ! - removed fuel filter from engine bay, removed pipes. Made custom bracket and rubber insulator for fuel filter, painted bracket black. Mounted fuel filter, and lines in correct positions. Also installed final 2 fuel pipe / brake pipe clamps onto body. Still not 100% happy with the angle of the feed line from under fire wall to fuel filter. Will tweek again next weekend. - mounted MAP sensor - cleaned up, painted cam gear cover and water pump / middle plastic cover. Filled out and stuck on timing belt replaced at sticker. - Wiring to mirrors is all done, bar putting the power wire on. Putting it into the back of the ciggy lighter circuite, and upping the fuse. They work well :D - bell housing bolts installed by majic pixy that lives on mexican cheeze and argon-gas - wiring installed over top of motor, fixed up - wiring cleaned up more under dash, (ECU stuff) - Tested handbrake light - Ran vehicle to get timing and TPS set. Motor making a weird squeeling noise.. later found out by tony that its most likely the timing belt being done up too tight. Will de-adjust asap. Motor runs so nicely :hmm:. Sump plug has a leak. *><*

Yup, was going to do that, but the amount of metal and room to play with on a ke70 deffiently shows they were never built with the intention on wires to pass through haha. Great idea tho - most of the mazda range have that style (as per looking at alll the different cars at the wreckers) haha Big day today folks Focus : engine bay

The Scariest Thing I Have Ever Seen
Teddy replied to Valandor's topic in Rollaclub Social (Off-Topic)
in my opinion, anyone that can make music that appeals to enough audience(s) so they are somewhat well known and are profiting nicely from it have my respect, in my book haha -
Oh yeah its deficiently looks like a 90's hot 4 special. Catch is, theres no rice in this ride :jamie: Picture Time :P Mirror switch and wiring, before the plug installed Random outside shot. Note dust and bonnet in need of adjustment Door stuff. All nicely new lookin Ae102 rear door rubbers with our loom through it. Note its this big, because of the amount of wiring going through such a small gap, when the door is closed it crams the wiring up badly, so I'm expecting these to fail within 6 months. Loom size is this big so that its removable and easy to replace. Making her silver Note ignition light :no2: A - Center glove box has a light, connected into park light circuit B - Mirror switch and wiring C - Glove box, that I'm proud of. lol. Those red stripes took hours to custom do. Getting a light, switch neg earth'd, when glove box open - light comes on. have not looked into what circuit to hook that into yet.. Wont be like a VN commodore tho.. car off and light could stay on. When car is off / locked, its off ~ period. D - Loom wiring into doors, and wiring in door(s) E - Ign. Light, operated when doors open, and will soon have (along with all other courtesy / feature lights - fading function) F - Cup holders from either 07 hiace, 05 triton or 02 hilux. Hymm. :y: Its going really well. Alarm system is now almost fully functioning.
