  1. why go to all that effort modifying it for pump fuel if you are using it for rally anyways? the 5k head i am getting built now is going to be about 10.7:1 so i can still use 98, much more than that and things don't run well, i am also running a large 4k cam with 4age pistons

  10. ok well i have found out i have a 608 Cam Tech cam in the engine atm so i can now tell the people building my head the valve lift so they can find some springs to suit, here are some specs Rough idle, strong upper mid range and top end, modified engines only. Min 10.5:1 comp ratio. RPM RANGE 3500-7500 Duration Advertised In: 290 Ex: 295 Valve lift .453 so its actually a 4k cam that is in the 5k block, which is strange, i took out the cam welch plug and it seemed as if there was slight wear on it from touching, i spoke to the engine shop and they said it should be ok, also i do not have to run as much compression as i thought i would and will be using 10.5:1, which should keep it around for longer

  19. also the head with 81 on it does not have lugs under the spark plug holes, I'm just going to assume it is a 5k flat top piston head

  23. ok another question, does anyone know how to take off the automatic "clutch" round annoying thing on the flywheel, i have a spare 4k and would like to know how to remove it, other than angle grinding it off

Ok so the pistons i have in it atm are what i believe to be 4age bluetop pistons which give a comp ratio of 9.4:1 when used in a bluetop, they are a pretty much flat top piston, and i am recommended a min comp ratio of 11.5:1, i think the dome cc is around 6, but I'm not sure of the accuracy of this, would anyone know where i could find the cc of one of these pistons?
  25. yea apparently troy was using a 3k head, that was shaved alot, I'm not sure however what rocker gear he was using, thanks for the help taz you have been a life saver
