BOOM! Needs to be lowered now

I've considered this for my ke26 also. My decision is to turbo the 4K in it ( One of the cheapest alternatives ). Seem's like you will have to replace the engine if you want to turbo as yours is tired. There's a guy on here that sells 4AGE- ke2X engine mounts. How much you are willing to do yourself will make or break it. I did a 3TGEU conversion to a ke20 the engine cost me $1500 and because i did all the work myself the whole job cost me $2000, If you paid someone to do that it would be atleast $5000

"If" i find one that is haha, does anybody on here know somebody that is wrecking a ta22?

Hey all, this is my Ke26 panel-van as I got it, My plans are to run a 4age setup with a T series driveline, ae86 coilovers, IRS conversion. The whole idea behind this build is to be able to drive it to the track, race it and drive it home. Planning on fabricating some bracing throughout the body as she is a loose old girl. This is my first progress post, almost finished stripping the car, already started ordering parts for the 4age conversion ( Jordanrolla 4age kit ) TE27 steering arms for ae86 suspension, all new bolts, ke27 front grille and bezels

Man you've always got the sickest cars! congrats that thing has turned out a weapon. Those wheels!!! I've actually got my hands on a set of 13x8 Mk ii's for Mine :) eventually gunna sit them under my ke26 Panno

From memory someone told me an early celica one will work, has anyone actually done this with a 3T or 2tgeu? cars in at the mechanics and i've gotta source it before they install it..

I got a set of 40thou oversized NASON pistons through Cheapa auto spares for $180 but i think they said they were the last set on their system. give them a call though their really helpful.

I chose not to do a turbo setup because i think they shorten the life of the engine even on low boost and i don't really want to be hunting around for 3tgeu engine parts lol.. But they are a very strong engine I've heard so it should be fine. I remember a while back a guy had a 3tgte in a ke20 from memory and he said it make WRX STI's look slow off lights.. scary. Ill update you on the booster situation. The engineer's going to do it all for me but ill put info up on here about what we use and where we mount it and what brakes etc.. i think ill be converting it to disc brake rear end.

Here's some more from today. Auto leccy gets here tomorrow and ill be sailing down the road :) I dare say its one of the best around.. what do you guys think?

Sure do, as a matter of fact I've got it in at an engineer's place getting a custom pedalbox, remotely mounted brake booster and ae86 brakes that are on it refurbished. I met a previous owner of this engine by chance the other week.. apparently it makes 206 HP. Feels like it!! lol. second gear any rpm is you want wheels to spin just give it some juice. and sounds insane with the twin dellorto's If you need advice with anything let us know.

Ok so ive had my hands FULL over the last month with the KE25 The engine is fully rebuilt and while the engine was out i painted the bay.. while i did that i thought may aswell paint the rest of the car.. while i did that i thought i may aswell get new roof lining and a dash pad while the windscreen was out.. basically a full Bare metal respray!!! I'm happy with how the taillight surrounds and the grill turned out :) Not to mention how straight we got the car, although it was a good base! Sent the master cylinder off to get re sleeved, auto electrician comes monday and then ill be sailing down the road to give her a full tank of premium :) The paint completely came off with 1 pass of paint stripper!! Might be white vs. yellow, ill end up spraying her white eventually but would like to get an aircon unit just the same.

My panno gets way too hot being windowless and having a large roof area. Anyone had aircon in their ke2x before? It's almost un-drive able in this heat.

Sweet work man, It will be a ball-tearer when its done. I've always wanted to put my 3TGEU Ke20 up against a 4AGE one and see who comes out best :)

There are 4 age -ke20 engine mounts on eBay for 290$ I think. If you went carbied 4age it would cut the cost considerably and sound better :)

Update on the red 25, I've almost finished fully rebuilding the engine. It now has 40thou oversized pistons, upped compression, shimmed oil pump, match ported head and manifolds and it's sparkling clean after being hot dipped. Very slow process but it's all being done right. It had broke all the rings and cracked 1 piston and was still driving around!!!! 3k's are bulletproof
