  1. coz we like small motors that make decent horses per litre theyre great for skidz and thats it...
  2. I'm sorry to announce this, but fuel prices are likely to go skywards again very soon the reason for this is that, as i understand it, about a week after i left the country the prices started to fall and so on and so forth....well i got back in saturday night, and once i get back to work and start driving again, the oil companies will not be able to keep up with the extra demand created by my shit tin racer stocko 4K, which is known to drink over 12L/100km. 4.0 falcon gets better economy than 1.3 :P go figure muaahahahahaha ;)
  3. you will ned an angle grinder, a mig welder, array of hammers or those dolly things the panel beaters have if you feel like gettin picky, some thin sheets of steel or ally. i used computer cases and scrap bit of galv steel now, you grind all the rust away cut sheet metal to approx hole size and rivet or tack weld into place then weld all around the hole, being shit box corolla metal thats been rusted you will prob find it does burn back some even on the lowest setting (i wrote my name thru the metal with my mig in one section when i did mine lol) once thats in place theres a product called "penetrol" that you paint on and it stops the rust and paint sticks well as opposed to fish oil :P then you grind back your weld, bog and shape, prime and paint ;)
  4. how did you check the leads? did you check their resistance? were the other leads you used new or old ones as well? i think its leads or points i once had a set of leads on an astina that all 4 fired when u took them off the plug, made the idle go funny when you took any of them off but was missing under load and to a lesser extent at idle went through everything imaginable, until i realised the leads were originals...200,000 km old and about 3 times the resistance they should be new leads = problem gone! try it, leads for a K motor arnt expensive
  5. its not too much boost, its too much boost for how far its been bored out i think i remember reading somewhere they took it to the limit moighty impressive sport for those of you whole like torque ;)
  6. the bands tend to break when the seats arnt used for a while and they dry up and lose theyre spring, i think mines gone :P poor xx seat...soo comfy anywho, when people start to use them again thats when they frey and gradually break anyways, good work guys, matt ur gonna be a very proud father one day ;)
  7. well that will be a f@$ked carby soon then wont it
  8. all the way from the uk just gotta say YAYAYAYAYAY GO MATT AND JUSTIN keep up the top work fellas
  9. simple mate battery in a box in boot earth it to a bolt in the chassis rail if possible...usually the ones that bolt the towbar on work a treat then power cable thru to dash with big red funky lookin killswitch out other side of killswitch to starter then you have the wire from the starter to the alternator alot of my shit comes off the alternator rather than the battery. its hardly a project...more a weekend thing :laff:
  10. blue to match the car.... or green coz its sensationally cool! :laff::D anyways, this is jus awesome matt :laff: keep it up fella
  11. anyone say bilstein :) theyre awesome, but you need 51mm struts, aka...86 struts
  12. high temp red or blue rtv it may be solvable as red says, but its so much easier to jus goo them up i used blue, but these days i use the red for everythin basically the same shit only high temp red has a higher temperature bearing :)
  13. they are shit old cars
  14. correct you can make a metric f@$kton more power with an sr20...but you don't need that much power in a ''rolla coz the power to weight would make it too undrivable
  15. cracked piston but why is there water in your oil?
  16. in that case plug the hoses ;) just make sure you check bother, so you know for definate they are both vacuum lines :P actually, rather than plugging them just get a bit of hose and run it from one to the next, tidier that way...
  17. first good reply! man, bolting a big engine in a small space is VERY difficult, even when done properly! ive had the 1ggte out of my ke70 twice and it was all engineered accurately, and it is sooo difficult to get back in just coz their is such little room. 3sgte is a brilliant suggestion 7M would be good for nothing but skiddzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
