  1. I think more along the lines of Adelaide to Victor, along the scenic routes?
  2. It reads "He has a KE70 with a chopped up AE86 bodykit", is that what your asking?
  3. I hope and wish that my 35 ends up like your black one.....ultimate jealousy right here :P :D
  4. Everytime i start the car i get a nice puff of smoke, just to let me know that skimping on a head rebuild will bite me on the arse
  5. I've had a look at one of my unfinished projects, a programmable ignition system. It comes with an Ignition coil driver which allows you to use a very small trigger current to earth out the coil, it has built in zener diodes to stop massive spike voltages from damaging the main transistor. To make the signal last a little longer, you could use a capacitor charge and discharge circuit, unfortunately it's been some years since i studied this type of circuit. Am doing it at uni in a couple of weeks so i will be refreshed. Might look into that, have info on it somewhere
  6. Will try that, it's the only thing that hasn't been replaced and the thing has done over 5000km's.
  7. that little relay board runs on that concept, but uses the relay to switch a 30 amp load. So you could use a small transistor and a big one, in an Amplification type circuit to switch earth to the coil.
  8. Both are good idea's, cause i think it's auto choke, as in i never have to worry about it. Hmmm i could of set idle when it was cold, so when the auto chock turns off it just leans out. I'm not sure if it has an oil problem though cause it doesn't blow smoke and i don't have to fill it up to often, normally every 200km.
  9. Since your just sending an earth to the coil there would be very little current flow through the relay, relays endure millions of cycles and normally die of age (age as in time) or when brand new from incorrect manufacturing.
  10. Hey guys, Just wondering if anyone knows anything about 2-stroke motors, or more precisely scooter motors. I have a Bolwell scooter and have fitted a 70cc big bore kit and an exhaust, the problem is that it goes really nice when it's first started but after about 5-10 mintues it just doesn't want to idle. Come to a stop, let it idle, and it just dies. I have to rev it to keep it going, but it idles heaps smooth just after starting. Can anyone help? Cheers in advance Jono
  11. If you are going to do it that way, make sure you put earth on 85 of the relay as most new relays are diode protected. Which means the circuit won't work as the current will flow through the diode instead of the coil of the relay. Oh and also if the shift light is LED you can get one of these http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?I...mp;form=KEYWORD which will let you use a very small trigger current. Even further...if you do like these jaycar kits but don't know how to solder electronics and that, I can build them for you and post for a small fee.....
  12. You can run the car with that turned off, you just don't let it idle.
  13. Why?..... Anyway...you could use one of these http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?I...mp;form=KEYWORD But I think you'd need to cut fuel aswell otherwise you'll have unburnt fuel in the exhaust. Just my 2 cents.
  14. One of my pistons had a fair crack in it to, no marks to the bores and the engine ran fine, maybe it's age.

Yeah I see that one all the time in that top car park.....
  17. Ah looks like he's going to help you out, I found with one of my front lights it had a bad earth mixed in with some blown globes. Don't know if your front end is the same but the wire on my 35 passes through where the bumper mounts to, goes into a two way plug for both parker and indicator lights. Hope this helps.

  19. Also the main reason i want to do is you turn the key and go, no worries about choke or throttle control. And the maintenance side, i'm over carby too much work.

  21. Plus postage, which on the ebay ones are $32.... Damn I wish I saw this kit at the start of the year.
  22. Hmmm...didn't think you could get them that cheap. Even this if you know how to solder: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MegaSquirt-...sQ5fAccessories Or http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MegaSquirt-...sQ5fAccessories
  23. Man that's awesome, if that's not in the knowledge base it should be.
  24. And then you need an ecu that's intended for the capacity of the motor, i think toyota starlet's are a small enough motor, thats the easiest and cheapest way.
  25. WGMG- people that swing out heaps wide to turn onto sidestreets.......YOU AINT NO SEMI TRAILER....GAH!
