Another update on the Rolla, just fitted lower springs to the front last night. Much better than before, but not too much of a drop. Gonna fit some new ignition bits very soon, hopefully. Here's a before an after pic, SO happy with how far i've come with it.

Google it, it is a muffler, and not everyone can go out and buy a welder. Steve get one of your mates to have a look at it, the muffler should just be welded on where the last one was and do the bracket as per original. Take a photo of the original setup and the new 'backbox' then we can be a little more descriptive. Jono

Look up the cost of a full air bag system, and it's something that should be done by a qualified auto-elec. Cause in the end those things can break bones if they go off when you don't want them to. Knowing what's in an airbag system i would not bother, just get a later model car tha has them standard.

Made a program for my calculator a little while ago to do this for me but roughly: (Litre / distance) x 100 = L/100km i.e. (38/400) x 100 = 9.5L/100

Hey guys old thread but are all k40 and k50 rears mounts in the same position, through the range of ke30-70's? And are they all big hole in the middle and two 8mm (i think) either side of the big one? Cheers Jono

If one side of the front bumper is closer than the other that means the brackets are bent, are the brackets 90 degrees to the bumper?

If the face that touches the rotor comes out atleast 5mm you should be alright, don't know about your rims but my dragways were hitting the caliper so i had to upgrade to girlocks.

Wow....just fitted a new driver 1/4 panel and front lip....JEEZUZ that was so much more difficult than i thought. Had to move the door like 5 times then the front lip was different to the one that was on there, but all good and so happy with the result. I'm getting a massive love hate relationship with this car, but it should pay off in the end. Here's a pic of it now, it's taken from that angle cause i had to rest the phone on the ground.....so sleepy... I'm replacing that door so I might just spray paint that strip white to get rid of it.

Thought i'd have an update, has been a while. Just had the car tuned and is running so sweet, and now i'm onto some projects for it. Both of the ones i'm working on are the result of boredom whilst on holidays, one of them is reasonable and the other is 'just cause'! This one is an Accessory, Ignition and start switch panel with LED back lighting and Status LED's for ignition and accessories. It will fit in the centre console just behind the gear stick with relays located underneath the dash to switch the original wires. And this is a VR dashboard, and this is just 'cause i can' sort of thing. It has turned into something quiet complicated as well the dash is for a V6 not a 4 cylinder, the speed sensor needs to be electronic, the temp sensor is the easiest (just plug and play) and the hardest of all is the Fuel level sender. The fuel level resistance difference between a VR and a corolla is that it is inverted on the VR and of higher resistance, Guageworks say they can recalibrate the system for 90 bucks but i reckon i can design some electronics to do it for me. Also i'm using this dash cause it has no CAN connections and it's quiet simple. (this is at the cutting edge of complete boredom, and being pov). If people are interested in this conversion I will do a write up, AND it doesn't have to be a commodore dash, just one without CAN connections as it is much simpler to convert.

Hmmm...i might drive over and steel that shell, looks heaps straight......really jealous.....Engine bay looks tired though but in time it will look good.

Is air bubbles in the radiator another one or?

Man that's a good price, i picked mine up for 400 and the only thing wrong with it was the exhaust gasket was leaking, 8 bucks later all fixed. Rapid ticking most probable cause is flat battery or stuffed solenoid

Try knocking on the side of the ignition switch and see if that does anything, according to the diagram the radio wire (if that's what shorted out) goes straight through the ignition. Sounds far fetched and quiet stupid but the extra current could of done something to the igntion to make it work for a little while. Make sure the plastic cover is off when you knock it.

Alot more work involved upgrading from a 3/4k to a 2tc, 2tc is a little bigger than 5k and are twincam, not sure if it's worth it. Someone else will be more helpful...
