3k Engine Noise
Ok, just squirted some inox down the shaft and the sound is gone, thank god thought it was the oil pump. Will take out the dizzy and see if there is excessive movement and see if it spins freely, thanks for your help guys.

3k Engine Noise
Hey guys, need help. My engines making a really high pitched noise from the left hand side of the engine (the dizzy/oil filter side) and wondering if anybody here knows what it is. It is getting worse with the more k's I do, my only thoughts are maybe the dizzy seals/bearings or the oil pump, but it's always had oil in it and it didn't do it straight from when I rebuilt it. It's my only ride so I need urgent help. I've uploaded a video to show you what I mean, it might not be available straight away as I just uploaded it. Cheers guys

Ke70/4k Starter Motor Removal
Best to do put it back in with someone else there, to line the bolts up alot easier. Don't know about ke70's but on my 35 i used extension bars and a univerisal joint to get to the mounting bolts in and out, was about 2 feet long but work. Again easier if you have someone to locate the socket on the nuts you wanna undo.

2-stroke Problem
Nuh they haven't been changed, do you think that's something i should replace after 5000km?

2-stroke Problem
Hmmmm...is that between the cylinder and crank case? Or just a re-think is it the seals on the crank itself? I think what the problem could of been was that when i adjusted the idle last, the engine was cold. So as soon as the engine was warm the idle up thingo would of lowered the revs too much. Adjusted it the other day and was able to go through the city and stuff. Need to pull the carby apart again clean it out, clean the air filter aswell. A new problem is that sometimes it goes really good, from 0-70 no power breaks or anything, and other times when i re-apply power at about 15-20km/h it takes longer to get up, Maybe the reeds or dunno?

A Story On How Not To Modify Your New Car
So are you going against the rolla there or? I think the moral of the story is, buy a brand new car leave it alone or leave the mods for a certified dealer.

How Much Oil Are You Using
Everytime i start the car i get a nice puff of smoke, just to let me know that skimping on a head rebuild will bite me on the arse

Rev Limit A 4k
I've had a look at one of my unfinished projects, a programmable ignition system. It comes with an Ignition coil driver which allows you to use a very small trigger current to earth out the coil, it has built in zener diodes to stop massive spike voltages from damaging the main transistor. To make the signal last a little longer, you could use a capacitor charge and discharge circuit, unfortunately it's been some years since i studied this type of circuit. Am doing it at uni in a couple of weeks so i will be refreshed. Might look into that, have info on it somewhere

2-stroke Problem
Will try that, it's the only thing that hasn't been replaced and the thing has done over 5000km's.

Rev Limit A 4k
that little relay board runs on that concept, but uses the relay to switch a 30 amp load. So you could use a small transistor and a big one, in an Amplification type circuit to switch earth to the coil.

2-stroke Problem
Both are good idea's, cause i think it's auto choke, as in i never have to worry about it. Hmmm i could of set idle when it was cold, so when the auto chock turns off it just leans out. I'm not sure if it has an oil problem though cause it doesn't blow smoke and i don't have to fill it up to often, normally every 200km.

Rev Limit A 4k
Since your just sending an earth to the coil there would be very little current flow through the relay, relays endure millions of cycles and normally die of age (age as in time) or when brand new from incorrect manufacturing.

2-stroke Problem
Hey guys, Just wondering if anyone knows anything about 2-stroke motors, or more precisely scooter motors. I have a Bolwell scooter and have fitted a 70cc big bore kit and an exhaust, the problem is that it goes really nice when it's first started but after about 5-10 mintues it just doesn't want to idle. Come to a stop, let it idle, and it just dies. I have to rev it to keep it going, but it idles heaps smooth just after starting. Can anyone help? Cheers in advance Jono

Rev Limit A 4k
If you are going to do it that way, make sure you put earth on 85 of the relay as most new relays are diode protected. Which means the circuit won't work as the current will flow through the diode instead of the coil of the relay. Oh and also if the shift light is LED you can get one of these http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?I...mp;form=KEYWORD which will let you use a very small trigger current. Even further...if you do like these jaycar kits but don't know how to solder electronics and that, I can build them for you and post for a small fee.....
