Do these have a fuel cut-off solenoid?
Oh and if someone said your alternator could be better, i'd start with that....start eliminating things that you know that aren't working properly. Just remember it takes "electricity" to start the the car and keep it running, check resistances all over the place aswell i.e. between the battery and the positive side of the coil. Also i think you should post help in your area section if your having trouble recognising parts on the engine. Another 2 cents from Jono.
The 'spring thingy' in the above picture is the contact to the horn, not power....(I know that's what you mean)....Just making sure he doesn't put a 12volt feed and an earth to the horn button.
With the tint and blackend rear tail lights it would look insane, it would stand out cause of the colour you've chosen....the artists impression doesn't look anything like what it would actually look like.
I'm looking at using these when I put the speakers in my doors, I wonder if you can get mulitple contact ones i.e. instead of just two contacts have like 4 or 6. Cause my drivers door operates with a 4 wire solenoid.
No, that's caused by a the wrong plug/mechanism down at the gearbox, got the same thing wrong with mine. The little gear depends on the diff ratio and the gearbox.
Correct, The wire coming from the distributor should go to the negative side of the coil. And the feed from the Ingition and Ballast resistor goes to the positive side of the coil.
If you get rid of the black strip down the side and that black vent on the back pillar, i mean paint everything on it yellow and i think it would look sweet, and a little dark tint on it aswell.
To be honest i don't know how they stole that car, unless they had a spare BCM, the keys, or a towtruck. That cars probably been chopped up and sold now, but then again that car is said to be worth 110 grand........
Prevention is the key to any crime.....doesn't stop someone smashing the window next time and stealing that 900 dollar deck.
Oh and one door trigger is put to earth when any of the doors are opened.
If you think it will look good then do it, you will have a thousand opinions telling you what to do, from matt black to pearlescent, from really nice Dragways to I don't something else. Go with lowering though, that always makes a car look better.
I've thought about hooking up an alarm siren (which you can buy seperatly from like jaycar or dicksmith) up to the door signal and place the siren inside the car and have a secret switch somewhere so you can turn it off obviously before you opening the door. Or for 33 bucks you can use one of these http://www.jaycar.com.au/productResults.asp?keywords=kj-8062&keyform=KEYWORD&SUBMIT.x=0&SUBMIT.y=0 .
Ok, sounds like when you connect a red to a black your putting a feed directly in the starter circuit which will start the car when the red gets power ('on' position). You need to test which wire gets power when you hit the starter and align that up to the black that makes the car start in the on position. One of the red wires should have power all the time so connect that onto each black wire to see which one is the reverse lights and then just go from there. I'm in Adelaide to so if you need a quick hand i'm happy to come up.
Hey guys, the weather seems to be getting better, think it's time to put the windows down and go for a cruise. I'm thinking of
-Starting at Bunnings mile end (cause i think that's where they all start from)
-Flagstaff hill
-Cherry Gardens
-Ironbank
-Stirling
-Summertown
-Montacute
-Gumeracha
Then down to
-Woodside
-Balhannah
-and home from there
Pretty big drive now that i look at it so an alternate path would be
-Bunnings mile end
-Outharbour
and just follow the coast for however long we want to go for
I reckon a meet up time of about 11am or midday what ever people think. So just post a reply and we can go from there. Or we could just meet up for a meet and great, bit late notice i know but would be good for a cruise this weekend.
Ummm just google mapped it and the first one is 105km so let me know what you guys think.
