Des Posted May 1, 2007 Report Posted May 1, 2007 (edited) 5k. Keep it a K motor. Edited May 1, 2007 by AE70
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted May 1, 2007 Report Posted May 1, 2007 Only one of those is even close to legal. :jamie:
Sam_Q Posted May 1, 2007 Report Posted May 1, 2007 why a K motor? rollaman: do legalities bother you? (serious question)
Des Posted May 1, 2007 Report Posted May 1, 2007 Coz its a KE10 we need as many of these as possible around, less likely to kill it with 5k than a 13bt or 4agte.
madrolla68 Posted May 1, 2007 Report Posted May 1, 2007 why a K motor? rollaman: do legalities bother you? (serious question) Cause anybody can bolt in a bigger engine :jamie: , keep it K engine i say, ive got a 7K for sale if anybody wants it.
flat out Posted May 1, 2007 Report Posted May 1, 2007 if you go 5k you will have a daily drivable 13 second possible car, (pending the 5k is turbo)
Taz_Rx Posted May 1, 2007 Report Posted May 1, 2007 if u go a 13bt u will nearly have a 10sec car Sorry mate, but thats the biggest crock of shit ever!! :y: Let re-phrase that....."If you go 13bt and pump $10,000 into the engine, gearbox, diff, fuel system etc you will nearly have a 10 second car" :jamie:
doityourself Posted May 4, 2007 Report Posted May 4, 2007 Put in a nice little K motor, any 3K, 4K, 5K or 7K motors. There is plenty of "brain switched on" guys and girls here, any one of them are more than willing to share info on a decent K motor build. I would recommend a 5K, and throw in the 3 C's - Cam, Compression and Carburettor. Don't forget about port matching manifolds, some extractors, and a nicely made exhaust without the wank factor.
anastasios Posted May 5, 2007 Report Posted May 5, 2007 why not build up a quick 7k alot of those newzealand guys have really got them happening, otherwise yea a 5k would be awsome plus its fun when people ask what motor you have in your car and you tell then its out of a van! haha
jjke20 Posted May 5, 2007 Report Posted May 5, 2007 hey mate I'm having the same problem with deciding on an engine conversion into my ke20 could some1 tell me about a 5k conversion and how much it would cost
Corolla_Kid Posted May 6, 2007 Report Posted May 6, 2007 The cost of then engine. It uses the same engine mounts and gearbox as any 3k, 4k . Ive got one in my ke20 and it is a quick little car.
Jono Posted May 16, 2007 Report Posted May 16, 2007 depends what you are into really. building a tough K motor would be cool but will probably only impress the hardcore. rotary will bring smiles all round but people will get fed up with the noise after a while. Is it your only car or do you have other transport? are you after a weekend conversion or can you have the car off the road for awhile? what is your budget including nice seats, rubber and other fancy bits? you may find the 5K route to be inexpensive at first but you may want more power in the long run and then have to either ditch it and start again with something else or try and squeeze as much power as possible out of it or you could just go 13b turbo and have more potential. you should check the rules in your state as to what you are allowed in a car that weighs as little as a ke20.
