There is no quicker way to piss of employees than with problems with their pay.

 

My company is of the stance that they pretty much guaranttee pay is on time, and in return we guarantee to do good work for them. And everyone is happy because of this.

 

They even had the pay roll lady go to work for a few hours on new years eve to transfer the pays (as they were due today, but would have been late if she did them today).

 

I have worked in companies were there is always problems with pays, really gets employees off side! and creates unneeded tension in the company.

 

i remember one company, an email came around that said "sorry pays are late again". guy next to me just stopped work, sent an email back that said "when you pay me ill keep working, and he went home". That got the pays happening very quickly.....

If anyone ever becomes an employer, this should be your mantra. Especially when you are on holiday & out of contact. :yes:

 

Sadly I can't just down tools & go home in protest, as I already am home. I work for a small husband/wife run company, we had a discussion about what would be happening while on holiday before we finished for the year, I even recall a bonus being mentioned. Most frustrating thing is I had plans involving other people that I'm having to re-neg on, then again, counting my chickens before they hatch comes to mind on that one.

I've said it before, but the wankers that light bush fires etc should be thrown to the fires themselves. A fine and a short jail time isn't enough, plaster their name/s in the papers (national, state and local), bankrupt them for life and a minimum 15 year jail term.
