Rolla__Boy Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 I think it's about time for some updates :fuzz: Quote
Teddy Posted January 13, 2008 Author Report Posted January 13, 2008 yeah yeah yeah updates are here :fuzz: Full weekend on -> car. Sat update. - (currently drivers seatbelt in vehicle, all done) - Found all nescessary bolts and things, and correct belts (again) for car. Took a while to get all the right bits, as theres a few different spacer tube-washers for the belts (belt tight, but buckel can still freely move). Anyway, Managed to put all that together. Rear now has retractiable belts :) W00t. Took long enought to clean the belts, yuck to years of grime and crap. - Once belts in, covered rear wheel arches on inside in bling-soft material for sound deadening, so the seats don't rub. Velcro'd them into place, and double sided the material for extra nice-ness. Chucked rear shelf in (pimp-spec fur :(), and then FINALLY installed rear backing board and rear seat. Got tight fit? Looks nice now atleast. -Finished of front left belt (replaced it with another, as origional one i put in was foobared at the buckel) & shoe-horned the rest of the wiring in the correct places. All A B & C trims and lower door bits are on. But, front ones may come off again for finishing touches of wiring. meh. - Cleaned up handbreak assembly, installed with the light switch. Adjusted it (for the first time in how many years.. ) - Marked position in center console area for electric mirror switch, started cutting out. Almost done now.. lol Today i hope to get done.. - Handbrake cables installed and adjusted (FOR THE LOVE OF GOD I'm sick of trying to do it, i just need to pull ma finger out ha ha ha) - get all the roof handels, mirror, sun visors sorted out. oh and the interiour light. - Forgot to install the 2 front seatbelt storks hahah, so that needs to be done - Finish off mirror switch and put wiring up to switch. - Drill 2 holes and put rubber tube from front door(s) to body and run wires - Rust proof front doors - Install center stuff for good ( Radio cover, gearstick cover, center glove box thingie over handbrake) That'll do for today. If i get most of that done ill be stoked. That means this weekend the interiour has been basically finished. All that needs to be done then is for Evap unit and blower to go back in, after ecu has been mounted for the final time (still 1 small.. issue with the.. electrics.- Stuff). I can then put the front seats in, rear bottom seat in yada yada yada. Time to stop yabbering on about this car, and start working on it. :bash: Quote
Teddy Posted January 13, 2008 Author Report Posted January 13, 2008 For History purposes, i have found some pictures when the car was first put into the shed. December 2002 is when it rollered into the shed. oh dear god.. its been a while. That means the car has been in a shed for a 1/5 of its life. lol Enjoy :fuzz: Quote

Teddy Posted February 11, 2008 Author Report Posted February 11, 2008 Its always time for an update on the blue car thread. This time, aposed to saying what little i got done on the weekend, i will state what needs to be done for the car to hit the road for road worthy, and then what i wil be doing to the car once its road worthied and road-driving. In order... 1) Most annoying thing about this car atm, this problem just keeps re-occuring, and its as if i CANNOT get past it. I am in desperate need of a Right hand T18 hand brake cable. Mine is frayed, and farked. Once thats on, brake system is 100% complete, pending a final brake bleed and handbrake adjustment. 2) Need to make a protective sheild for the elaborate pipe work plumbing for the fuel system (under boot). Bolt up. 3) Install new inner guard plastics with the clips. blasted clips are a **** to work with. 4) Lower car to ground, Tighten all diff bolts for new suspension bushes (have to set them up in correct position). 5) Work out imoblisor problem. Its Vehicle can still be started with motor imobilised. Auto leckie from work coming up this week to check it out - field trip! 6) Re-seal rear tail lights for road worthy (lenses dried out and poped out, its been there that long, lol) 7) Finish Wiring up Boot light to switch 8) Cut remanding extra foam to go on top of sound deadening under carpet for that "70's plush feel between your toes. hell no to anyone using shoes in this car! 9) Install Rear Seat. Clean. 10) Once imobiliser problem sorted, Tape up all the related wiring, install into dash and related area(s). Install heater box, again, glove box. Lower dash panels. 11) Drill passenger side door to body holes and install new (gota purchase it) rubber tubing for wire to run through. I'm gona have to pull the drivers side stuff out, as its too squashed and prone to electrical wiring snappage in future. Run extra blank wires for the future :P 12) Connect up mirror switch wiring (plug) & Get working. Matter of wire + connect + Join correctly & Test. 13) Install center console + handbrake glove box (all center stuff). Run blank wire to center console area for after rego center glove box light. 14) Install front seats. Install remanding lower dash panels (bottom A pillar, under dash) 15) Wire in ignition barrel light, install velour trim around light, blend into steering colum. Install steering colum. 16) Install SAAS boss kit & SAAS deep dish Steering wheel (hehehe :y:) 17) Install stock dash facure and assembly (my custom dash is all here at home, way too much to cart it all up there, and custom apply it in the shed. Ill do that at home in a weekend once its down here) 18) Install newly paited (last weekend) Rear view mirror. Paint and install interiour center light. Gather and install inside mirror covers on tops of doors 18.5) (haha) - Install new DOOR TRIMS and handels. I must go harras the auto trimmer this week. GRRRR!! 19) Interiour is now offically 100% finished (provided i havnt missed anything, theres a 90% chance that i have missed something, bahaha) 20) Remove, paint and install airbox assembly mounts. Airbox piping being made up this week, provided all goes to plan. 21) Install ROCKET covers (haha). Install wiring for good. Get to Ipswitch to pick up my center timing engine cover plastic. Grah!. 22) Mount & Install overflow bottle beside radiator 23) Work out how to control cooling fans and intergrate a system for that 24) Adjust TPS Settings 25) Install LHS earth strap from body to motor (thanks justin :y:) 26) Plug back in starter motor, and bolt the remaning bell housing bolts in correctly. 27) Top up the gearbox.. well, re-fill it up. Rear housing seal is dry from sitting for years, and it just piss's out fluid. Just sitting there. (will R&R @ work) 28) Plug back in indicators, Replace a handfull of blown bulbs. On weekend gone by, adjusted the twinheadlight front end stuff. Now its sitting all square :) 29) Re-bleed clutch. Test line, it kinda held a gearbox up for about 2 weeks while the stupid jack failed.. ugh, silly me why didnt i use a jack stand. 30) Go over car with a fine tooth comb. Check and re-check everything. Check it all again. Install Rims and new tyres. 31) Once everythign is in order, and ok. Plan as follows. Detail car for the final time in the shed. Re-Water proof test it. 32) Get day rego to road worthy place. In the day, drive to exhaust shop, get new exhaust fitted. Stainless steel, extractors back. Cat. :hmm: . Drive to mod Platers, get it mod-plated. Drive to road worthy place, get it road worthied. Drive to QLD Transport. Get it REGO"D! 33) Install my oke70 number plates :hmm: After Rego Things to do - in any order, sick of typing already haha. - Custom Dash Install, all parts ready here to go in. - Install fading circuit for lights - installl lights on each door, and under both front seats (so when any door opens, the corrosponding lights fade on and off) - Install STOCK electric windows (yes, you did see that correctly :P ) - (down the track) Purchase and install some form of sound system (low in my books atm) - Install ITEM X (bahahahhahahahah, my poor bleading ears) - Install headlight reminder - Possibly remove 2way Cusco LSD and put an open center diff in. Whe'll see. - Fabricate boot install again, nice setup like my white car had for a while there. DISTANT future - Possibly fiddle around with brakes and suspension again, i don't know. I'm sick of spending money on this car. ;) - CB Radio (yee haa) - get those set of uber big dish 15" wheels ive always wanted hehe Thats it for now folkes |blink| Tedzor, hear me roar ! Quote

Teddy Posted February 21, 2008 Author Report Posted February 21, 2008 Updates Updates Updates :P  Pics to come, i need a new camera. - Ae102 Rear door to body rubber harnes is what i am now using for my front doors to body tubeing - size is correct, and fits all my wires nicely. Looks Stock. (holes made larger in door to body areas to allow for larger rubber gromit plug) - Got a hooole heap of 3,4,6 and 8 pin connectors to add into the extra loom thats been created with all the electrics in the car now. So it looks factory. - underlay for rear has been added (extra). Rear seat installed. Belts all reach fine, no wires get in the way of the seat edges*wipes head* - Mirror door plastics installed / cleaned. One from LHS is S model Ke70 (never had a mirror there). one on the RHS is corona advanti, modified. Because i don't have the manual mirrors anymore, no use having a hole there. haha - Rear view mirror installed. - Center light painted silver; to try and be as reflective as possible. Stil have to rub back the numbers, and paint them with the end of needle or something.. heheheh Quote
